Have you heard about "Slav Squatting" in Tracksuits yet?

If you haven't heard of this internet phenomenon, check it out, totally hilarious! Get your Adaias jogging pants on for this! lol

diggitmagazine.com/articles/squatting-slavs-culture-stereotype-or-just-meme

New counterculture or fashion statement? Im really glad, I haven't seen many Poles doing the "squat". Yet, once in awhile I'll see someone dressed up in an Adidas tracksuit at the mall. The 1970`s wants their clothes back!! LOLOL

Slav Squat
"squatting with heels on ground in a tracksuit while eating semechki and drinking vodka. Legend has it that if u do this long enough u will activate the third eye of the Slav"

News / Coal-Powered Poland Refuses to "Go Green". EU Ain't Happy. [304]

Many Poles literally burn garbage, that's the problem

When I see posters claiming they are going to expat themselves and move to Poland. It's clear, they haven't been there during the winter and theyre in for a big stinky surprise.

Many Poles burn their garbage; plastic bottles etc. in their home furnaces, you can smell this in the evenings, even in the villages. Poles must be some of the dumbest people on earth, don't they know that burning plastic is bad for your health? I asked my friend why they do this, she said it's because they don't want to pay the 10-15zl for garbage pick-up, but they can buy vodka every few days.

The money isn't the problem...Europe is the most richest continent

Then why don't they pony up to NATO for their share if they are so damn rich

When I see the Eurps bragging how much money they have and NATO hasn't been fully funded, its time for the US taxpayers to demand we get out!

Off-Topic / Random movies (not Polish) proposed by forum users [95]

... has he done anything remotely good since Goodfellas?

I have to agree with you. He did those silly comedy movies afterwards like " Meet the Fockers" and Bad Grampa" a bad rip off of "Bad Santa"

Was he in Casino? If yes, was he any good?

Casio was good, it was prominently Joe Pesci though.

Did anybody watch The Irishman? I

Its hard for me to watch anything with DiNiro anymore coz he turned into such a Libtard douche bag.

His best movies are Taxi Driver, Godfather or Raging Bull.

Hes a good one to watch Stanley Kubrick`s "A Clockwork Orange"

Viddy well, Droogies!

Real Estate / Carpetying style? - question to Brits living in Poland [26]

. I like both Polish and British cultures,

Same here and I find very interesting to see the differences in the way we live.

I like how they build homes in Poland, nice and solid, all brick instead of wood.

Americans with their fake 'historic' homes and carpeted bathrooms.

More rubbish from the old decrepit UK where the sun seldom shines, lol

encourage the house dog and cat to start using it for their relief also.

Hahaha, but would they really notice or would it blend in with the rest of the stank.....

Real Estate / Carpetying style? - question to Brits living in Poland [26]

Heres an interesting article...."Bacteria's Paradise" or British Carpets

I never see a carpeted bathroom in America. However, there is plenty of evidence about the popularity of carpeted bathrooms in the UK.

"As slippers are unusual in Great Britain, having a soft carpet while you are sitting in the "throne", make us feel like kings and queens."

"You become a royalty person when visiting a British carpeted bathroom"

madeinbritainblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/12/bacterias-paradise-or-british-carpets/

Does it really make you feel closer to Royalty????

Real Estate / Carpetying style? - question to Brits living in Poland [26]

Well it was heavily marketed and advertised in the USA so

Yet, nobody wants it or has purchased it, but in The UK sales are booming or should we say stinkin!

Renew your bathroom with our extraordinary range of bathroom carpets.

carpetright.co.uk/carpets/room-type/bathroom

The British have an obsession to carpet. Carpet can be seen in entering the British airport in pubs and administrative buildings, to bathrooms.

jonworth.eu/british-obsessions-carpet/

a lovely, lovely person, God rest his soul.

Why so lovely?

Wasn't he a drunk and drug attic that died from liver failure? Just because he happened to be Irish doesnt make him a Saint!

keep to the topic of the thread please

Is disgusting....... only Brits do this.....but not me :-)

Are you serious? Brits have carpeting in their bathrooms! LOLOL Oh, that must stink!

It was popular in the USA too

Total BS! I have never seen this in my entire life.

I have carpeted stairs, so no chance of slipping.

This is common in the US as well, but in the bathroom is crazy.

Study / 90% of Poles have university degree? [57]

school than 21 year old self opinionated, lazy graduates.

You're better off hiring an older person than these lazy millennials, they rather play video games in mom's basement than work.

Again though, it all depends on the university!

What year did you graduate from Trump University in NYC????

USA, Canada / The proper behavior an American should show when visiting Poland [159]

I had more ad hoc conversations in those two weeks than in two years in the US.

Lyzko lives in a time warp. Hes hasnt been to Poland in over 40 years and somehow still knows everything that is going on there. And if you dare question his authority, he deflects back to the same old mumbo jumbo about FDR or some other obscure topic.

USA, Canada / The proper behavior an American should show when visiting Poland [159]

If you want to make the "ugly American" impression big time squared,

You admitted that you haven't been to Poland in 40 years, so your stereotyped opinion hasn't any credibility.

I have smiled and said dziendobre to unknown people in my elevator,gym,public/pvt offices and always got proper response

Same here Cargo. These guys are living in the past and haven't a clue about modern Poland. The people were very friendly and outgoing, the exact opposite of what they're saying.

Im sure when they go out they just stare/observe and don't talk to anyone. No wonder, they rub ppl the wrong way and carry this attitude around.

This is good advice. Poles are more inclined to help/talk to you if you try speaking Polish first.

And all the women think its really cute when you mess up words too:)

Texan hat wearing jean jackets and a visible carry gun like

So, how do these Cowboys sneak their guns past security and onboard the airplanes?? lol

Work / Self-employed American living in Poland? Is it possible? [54]

f I have to start all over, might as well do it in a country that has a decent quality of life

Krakow is a beautiful city and has a lot of interesting things to do during the summer. If youre earning $60k you'll be fine. You do know about what happens in winter, with the coal burning?

unearthed.greenpeace.org/2016/01/21/poland-air-pollution-krakow-coal-ban/

citylab.com/environment/2019/09/krakow-poland-pollution-air-quality-coal-wood-burning-law/597352/

This would be a deal breaker for me, but they are trying to clean it up. Give it a few more years and it should get better after the big retro-fit.....

Work / Self-employed American living in Poland? Is it possible? [54]

I thought that Medicare is for elderly and disabled irrespective of income, while Medicaid is for the poor?

Medicare is for senior citizens 65+ years old. Medicaid is for low income families.

I assume, his version of self-employed really means unemployed or severely underemployed.

A comfy middle class lifestyle with enough $ to raise a kid or two.

. but I'm getting older and want access to better and cheaper healthcare

Which is it?

Are you a senior citizen ready to have children? LOL

Work / Self-employed American living in Poland? Is it possible? [54]

I don't make a ton of money and really cannot afford the high cost of living in the U.S.

Have you ever been to Poland? If you cant make a decent living in the USA don't expect it to happen in Poland. The wages are a lot lower and the cost of living is much greater when you compare the wages you will possibly earn. Most Americans that move to Poland already have a nest egg saved up, then you can live comfortably.

Perhaps, if you find a little place in the country, but Krakow, bring some money....

Life / Typical Polish house and family [46]

see if they were clean enough to sit in one of her over stuffed chairs.

My babcia had those plastic covers on her couch and you couldn't wear shorts bc your legs would stick to it..haha

That's a fact Joker and not funny at all.

I visited a few homes in Poland where everyone takes off their shoes and they provide you slippers, not uncommon at all.

People may be insulted by not taking off your shoes. I forgot once, and they let me know quicker than a Japanese restaurant! lol

As I was only once inside a single Polish house

Make sure you take off your shoes before entering a Polish home.

You might get a dirty look or be scolded by Babcia if you don't:)
