News / Presidential elections 2020 - your opinions about campaign, candidates [2222]

Shouldn`t the Church contain PiS? I heard bishops are already worried about falling income from Sunday mass collections etc. Currently, only 5 people are allowed to atttend a mass serive in a church. If more people get infected during elections, the loss of profits for the clergy may continue for a longer time.

Bishops, time to take action! Don`t allow PiS even think of running elections! If you don`t care about believers, at least think about your pockets. .

It's an absurd plan, and proves that Kaczyński wants to maintain power at all costs.

That is really amazing. He should be rather thinking about his departure and the "reward" he will get for his actions in this world. Or is his outward devotion and piety a scam to dupe Catholic voters?

News / How hard will Poland be hit by the economic crisis? [116]

Can you imagine the crisis even struck mice supply? I had to check several pet shops before I bought a few last mice that were in stock. The owners told me those were the last supplies and they had no idea about the next ones.

I read scientists need mice and other lab animals like that for experiments on the virus.

restaurants, bars etc

The graph from this article shows the falling income of eateries in Poland - 70-80% lower after their closure.

I have many Polish friends and business associates

The record number of businesses legally suspended or terminated their activities in March (starting from April). I did it too.

That will make Kaczyński furious coz he is really intent on holding them.

At any cost. That is why their newest plan is to hold postal voting for everybody. hahahaha Polish Post will have a lot of work - I can see those millions of people who deal with collecting mail, opening it, counting votes etc.

Read about it:

Bull`s eye bingo! Wow! What a comeback. Like a glove. :):)

Of course, I was talking about mounds - 5 of them - two ancient from 7th century.

Dragon is one and there is only one salt mine but not in Krakow proper. While I said sth about structures in plural.

I will develop my previous hint: they are not only old but very old: even ancient. London has some but NYC - none.

Urzad Skarbowy
Landlords.

Thanks for adding them.

Generally, most services will suffer. When going shopping, I drive past a large car garage where I have had my car serviced. They have been closed for two weeks now - I don`t know if for fear or lack of customers.

Amazing developments in PiS. According to Newsweek, Health Minister convinced Prime Minister the elections should be cancelled. That will make Kaczyński furious coz he is really intent on holding them.

Nope, you must think first. How well do you know Krakow? These structures are famous in Krakow and the world, but google won`t give you a direct answer to my question.

Another hint:
they are very old. :):)

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

OK, you convinced me. I am going to grow potatoes and already checked some addresses of farmers who sell seed potatoes in bulk.

One more question - I read a lot about potatoe disease - you know, the one that caused famine in Ireland. Professional farmers always use antifungal chemicals. But I don`t want to poison my field/food with such methods. How did you cope with that problem?

I see. But aren`t the plants smaller and weaker because of quartered spuds?

I never have no, the grass grows around them so I never got green potatoes .

Yes, exposure to light makes potatoes turn green but the grass blocks the light.

News / How hard will Poland be hit by the economic crisis? [116]

I am afraid so.

The over saturated housing market is about to get deeply cut

That is good. The loss of part of my income will be compensated by lower prices of real estate. There is always balance in nature - that is why I love nature. :):)

Being a real estate agent,

Last year I remember you mentioned being also involved in real estate market. Do I remember correctly or mistook you for sb else?

I almost bought a restaurant in January,

I almost bought a flat but decided to wait a little more. That was a good decision. Now the prices are going to drop really huge.

And bars and clubs are structures are they not!!!!

No, they are institutions, genius. hahaha You can bring and install some drink/food service equipment and furniture in your potato field and you already have a bar. Is it a structure? No.

So your question is fulfilled,

Nope ,it isn`t. :):) Try harder. Think!!!

So, the question is still about the structures.

Told you that I am ten times smarter than YOU ha,ha,ha

The fact that imbeciles say sth doesn`t instantly make it holy truth. hahaha

now run along and post some pictures.

Not before you show some intelligence at last. :):)

I will give you a hint:
So, what structures does Krakow have in abundant supply that other cities don`t - not even one?

I am sorry, no, I was talking about structures, not institutions. Besides, I am sure London and smaller cities in the UK have more bars , pubs etc.

The Philharmonia in Sczecziń. I posted about it here when it won an architectural prize.

Yes! But you showed us the conservative bright white building, while mine is liberal rainbow. hahaha

Easy allright Poznan international fair building.

Yes!

Another question without a picture: What structure does Krakow have in bigger supply than any other city in the world?

News / How hard will Poland be hit by the economic crisis? [116]

Let`s make a list of branches which are going to suffer the most:

tourist industry - hotels, guest houses, airlines, travel agencies,
shopping malls and smaller shops
restaurants, bars etc
theatres, cinemas concert halls etc
sport clubs, gyms etc
transport
spas

Shyt, that`s millions of people.

then quarter the spuds lefing one or two sprouts on each.

Wow, I heard about it but they don`t mention it directly on those advice sites.

the I wait til they have flowered / and or fallen back and dig em out using a fork.

Does it mean you don`t do ridging?

If non of the above works just buy em off the farmer next door.

Yes, but I will lose on fun of having my own. Everything I do in orchard or garden or veg patch is primarily for fun. Also, health. Also, money coz I am frugal. hahaha

Thanks, that was useful about quartering them. This way I can have more for less money. :):)

I'd only say 'unlock the door' if the door was meant to stay closed..

Yes, that`s what I meant. The door was to stay closed and I was supposed to push the handle down with my elbow, as I just said. Would any English speaker say: Open the door? in such a situation?

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

Having a lot of free time recently, I can devote it to my farm. Fortunately, trips from urban areas to the coutryside haven`t been banned yet. In result, it seems I am going to sow my record amount of ground in veg patches this year - over 100 square metres.

I am thinking of potatoes, too, it would be my first time.
Dolno, you mentioned growing potatoes on your own . How do you do it? I am worried about making those ridges - doing it manually seems drudgery. Can I skip ridging and still have good crop?

Professional ridging

Another one but I am not sure about it so let me ask this question first:

Do English speakers say open the door when they mean unlocking it? Coming back from shopping yesterday I texted my wife to unlock the door so that I could enter with shopping bags in my hands, pushing the door handle down with my elbow. And I wrote: otwórz drzwi - literally open the door. but it was obvious I meant unlocking.
