Life / Do you collect mushrooms in your country? Poles in Poland do. [94]

But you have to collect them yourself or buy them from a woman on the road

Not really. You can buy them in shops too.
Or, at a market.

nowadays I don't have the energy for pickling

Another option is drying. Driers are cheap gadgets.

That`s the original dish.

go for trout though.

Of course, there are plenty other to choose from. I had eaten that trout earlier on solo on bread and it tasted excellent so I bought another one.

sausage rolls to me.

Yes, but the roll dough was a bit sweet, sprinkled with sesame seed. It nicely contrasted with savoury filling.

Is that Sernik

Of course. :):):)

Talking about cheese cake......
The middle one in 103 is an interesting one because I learnt about its existence this year. My colleagues call it babka serowa - cottage cheese sandcake.
I checked the recipe and one day am going to make it cos it is easy. The texture is fluffy and flavour - excellent.

Absolutely disgusting stuff :(:(

I only eat it for groats content which is my fave. I disregard that blood and liver chunks.

See those pastries?? Savoury flavoured with minced meat stuffing. That`s what I like - a plethora of flavours at a time - sweet, sour, savoury, etc

News / The Baltics states rely on Poland as their main defender against Russian aggression?? [213]

Don`t be silly. I am not going to go through the archives to dig up your pathetic posts to PAk from the time you were at odds coz you supported Russia while he Ukraine and you abused each other in the most horrible way. He sent you to happy gulag and you hollered in return.

Drink memory syrup if you don`t remember. Ha!!!

saves you having to pull the plants out of the ground

I don`t mind. I like exercising my back - only when I do it regularly, it doesn`t hurt me. ):)

My fave style to cook black pudding aka kaszanka: fried with corn and onion tomato salad.

Food / Why Poles not like rice? [98]

Younger generations consume a lot of rice. Older too. Now I am thinking of making pawian`s paella tomorrow.

I always keep my word. This time I added a new ingredient to it: smoked trout.
Trout paella was delicious.
As it was Saturday, I additionally pampered myself with a glass of wine.

no meat

Alien explained it another thread that fast time is over on the day so eating meat is allowed. I still go traditional without it but some members prefer new trends. It is called tolerance. :):):)

that some creatures will come along and dig them up

hahaha Creatues dig to devour, not to share. :):):)

It is easy - my Polish grandpa advised me to keep beans unharvested to dry and sow next year. I did it last spring with those dried ones in the photo. With excellent results.

Also, nobody guessed the one in 153.

Pickled mushrooms are very popular in Poland. Each shop has them in the offer.

Here, noble boletus, the most expensive of all.

Still a decade ago I made them myself but now don`t have time.
