Remember, we're generally very tolerant.

If someone goes on social media and rites "let's form a mob tonight and burn down a building/kill a person", they will get in trouble; same across the Atlantic and rightly so. It is. Same for Czechs and Bulgarians.

Ireland and UK too, since we've traditionally been the largest minority in each other's country. The Scandis all vote for each other as well, as do Greece and South Cyprus.

We always used to get votes from Netherlands and Belgium since for decades they've watched our TV for free and some of the culture has rubbed off on them.

When I first came to PL years ago, I was surprised to see Tennant's Super in some shops, the stuff in the purple tin that many who drink it hide inside paper bags.


Lubuski is fine.

God save us from 'craft gins' that don't even taste of juniper. Anyway, it always has tonic, ice and lemon, sometimes a dash of angostura, in it. At least you can get slimline tonic in PL nowadays.

Most of them even. You're right that there are of course some alcoholics with money (I've known a few over the years including a couple of very well known politicians in PL, not publicly known to be drinkers) however the overwhelming majority are skint.

One party is traditionally part of the establishment, one very much isn't.

One party (we kicked them out last September) are useless. The other very much is not and brought in (and in fact invented) workers' rights, universal healthcare, disability provision and protection from discrimination, maternity/paternity leave and free compulsory education. Things enjoyed in all developed countries and which all of us reading this have benefitted from..

Hmmph. I'm younger than Milo by about a decade. You're a harder call however I'd guess within a decade. Textual analysis does suggest "very young at heart boomer" though...


This does seem to be a trend. It's not imposible to see it morphing into one of those talent show franchises. That might not be a bad step.

It's still not as good as it was when Sandie Shaw* was in it.

Unfortunately some religious people have conniptions about this (depending on whose text it is) and of course the Heine quote "those who burn books will in the end burn people" does carry some weight.

Blasphemy laws were scrapped in England and Wales about 20 years ago and in Scotland a few months ago. AFAIK they still have them in NI which is more religious. There was an incident in PL a few years ago where a clergyman was publicly burning Harry Potter books however I forget how that turned out.
