It's hard to think of any western democracy that has 'crazy laws'.

All of them have crazy laws.
Hate crimes, men can become women on a whim, LGBT sexualizes children against parents' will, and all kinds of sexual preferences outside the norm are privileged.
And so on. Foreign criminals crossing borders willy-nilly are not being deported. whoever speaks out against it is being prosecuted by the state.
