these large farms

Have you forgotten how PO/PSL and other governments had invited huge foreign corporations like Smithfield and enabled them to take over and devastate huge chunks of farmland for the raising. The resultant concentration of highly toxic pig manure caused an ecological disaster polluting ground water and the atmosphere for miles around.

But no matter. The proper ministers got their under-the-table kickbacks.

PO/PSL

The president's near-accident is turning up signifcant details on how the post-nomenklatura clique operated under the supportive blind-eye of the PO/PSL regime.
BOR (Government Protection Service), responsible for the safety of prominent officials, were long rumoured to have effectively functioned as an SB II, a safe haven for former PRL security types. Now it turns out that BOR had enlisted the services of a company called Konsalnet, set up by former communist secret police and military intelligence officers. Konsalnet have derived great benefits from cushy government contracts, some of which ended in scandal. These are the kind of people the KOD mob are defending.

Ukrainians

No, becuase in other languages it would not have referred to Lech, but to a forest. In Russian it's les and Lesevich would have been the son of someone nickname Les (forest). In Ukrainian it is lys so that could end up sounding like Lysevych.

Poland pays in less than it gets out

RE the EU you're right. I am speakign about the overall balance of cash transfer including Poland's paymenty tot eh EU, EU sibsidied for Poland, ot EU, profits extratced by foreign groups from Poland, Polish export revenues and import losses. That's what realy coutns. The EU and foreign business have set Poland up as an unprocessed goods exporter, cheap manpower and real estate country to exploit.

Poland has contributed more

Subsidies are only a part of it. On balance, foreign interest groups have extracted more profits from Poland, usualy underpaying and/or mistreating their Polish employees and destroying indigenous Polish business to boot, than what Poland got from the EU. The subsidies enabled the EU/foreign interest establishment to set Poland up and exploit it far beyond the funds the country receives from Brussles.

without even a competition

Indeed, that was one of the charges against the PO/PSL era Agricultural Agency -- bypassing tenders and PSL using funds meant for farmers to bankroll their election campaign. The agency's directors lived it up on taxpayer money and provided perks, bonuses, booze and entertainment galore for themselves.

GW rarely prints any facts that cannot be twisted to suit their pre-programmed propaganda line.

system of Party patronag

The system of party patronage was honed to perfection over 8 years of PO/PSL misrule. In those 8 years some of their know-nothing cronies actually learnt a thing or two about managing the task nepotisticlaly entrusted to them.

Maybe PiS activists should be sent to a Nepotism 101 training seminar run by hands-on-experienced Platformers and their hayseed sidekicks.

prosecutors

Porsecutors will finally be able to effectively combat crime. The break-up of the ministerial/prosecutorial office was a big mistake. It was when one person held both posts that major crime gangs were smashed. Only those who feel more comfortable and operative in a pro-crime atmosphere more conducive to their shady dealings, want to split up and weaken that potent crime-fighting unit.

Love / Valentines Day & Polish men [130]

Valentines Day

America has done Europe one better. To rake in the dough during the autumn off-season before Halloween, the Yanks long ago invented Sweetest Day (in October I think) to give sweethearts chocolates and flowers. I haven't seen any sign of that in Poland so far, but who knows? Co Jankes wymyśli, Polka polubi!

Lesiewicz

Names such as Lesiewicz are probably found in all the Slavonic tongues. Yes, it appears to be of patronymic origin meaning "son of Lesio" which is a pet form of Lech or Leszek.

the embrace of Putin

The classic emrbace of Putin was bestowed on Tusk at Katyń in 2010 and will go down in history as a sign of petty self-interest, collaboration and treachery. Almost as unforgivable as the Great Mulatto seeing in Putin's eyes "a true democrat" and hoping to "reset" America's relationship with Putin's post-Soviet empire.

increasing bureaucracy

An audit of the PO-era PM's chancellery has shown not only increased bureacracy but also highly dodgey finances and wasteful management. It seeem every administrative unit being audited turns up highly questionable practices if not downright scams attributable to the PO/PSL government. And there's more to come.

scams attributable to the PO/PSL

Hardly a day goes by without new PO/PSL scams and abuses coming to light. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management under PO contracted expensive airport equipement but bypassed the requried tenders and gave contracts to their party cronies or held tenders that were fixed in advance. It seems every ministry, every government department and agency under PO/PSL scamster rule was corrupt to the core.

the frightening part

The frigthening part are the years of PO-orchestrated coverups, sweeping misdeeds under the rug or creating red herrings to divert public attention from all the scams. But finally it is catching up with the scam artists par excellence who will have to face the music. It's high time!

Arabian horses

You're banging on about horses when the real troublespot and threat to Poland is the lying, propagandistic and treasonous Michnikite press.
*They leaked a Venice Commission draft on the GW website because it happened to coincide with their own ideological twist, although it was not posted on Venice Commission website. That falsestart enabled the Michnikite anti-government view to spread far and wide and that's what crafty ol' Adam wanted in he first place.

*GW attacked Tele-Express for saying that the Oscar-winning film "Spotlight" was about "a paedophilic affair in Boston". GW was unhappy that the news reader did not say the Church was involved. Just like ol' Adam writing about Stalinist brutality without mentioning it was his ethnically correct compatriots that committed the vilest atrocities against the Polish nation in the MBP and UB.

*At a time when many Polish families were grateful they finally learnt of the whereabouts of their doomed soldiers' graves and that those valiant freedom fighters are finally getting their due, GW called them not doomed (wyklęci) but damned (przeklęci) soldiers because they collaterally killed some "innocent civilians"; the rag failed to mention that they were most likely UB plants, informers or other collaborators serving the Soviet-imposed dictatorship. But someone raised in a post-KPP family has no problems with such traitors when his own parents fit that bill to a T.

*The GW is also known for criticisng the AK as anti-Semitic, screaming "hands off Jaruzelski" and calling the PRL's top secret policeman Kiszczak "a man of honour". And to think there are useful idiots about who still read that rag?!

investigate

Not true, the govt is investigating rampant PO-era ccorruption in the defence min., farm agency, tender fixing, etc. and more audits are on the way. The PO scamsters will finally be shown up for the corrupt bureaucrats, crooks and con artists they really are with no longer any rug to sweep it all under.

blatant corruption.

More misdefinition problems? You remind me of the Stalinsit regime calling freedom-fighting "doomed soldiers" bandits and imperialist spies.
As it is, Poland is already awash in wśexcwaaive secularist slime, so it's good the subsidies are going to those who will properly honour Catholic Poland's 1050th birthday. Lux Veritatis, the university, Radio Maryja as well as other institutions associated with Father Rydzyk have done a magnificent job promoting Polsih culture and education as well as providing Poland with quality religious programming. The fact that the kosherites have some hang-up about this in no wise lessens his contribtuons tot he nation as a whole. If some outfir like the Batory Foudnation connected with their co-ethnicist Soros got the grant, they'd be beaming, celebrating and voting him "Man of the Year" or some such. Fortunately, Poland is not bound to cater to Michnik's bisawses, whims and hang-ups. Let Poland be Poland!

no relevant experience.

It's like Delph cannot see the forest for all the trees. The big picture is the government's bold march to re-Polonise the country, trim the monopolistic self-centred post-RT Salon or mafia down to size and spread the benefits to the rest of the thus far underprivleged nation. Tiny bits and snippets along the way are peripherals not worth bothering about for anyone except mean-sprited nitpickers whose sole purpose is to malign, discredit and spew venom.

Genealogy / Polish equivalent of "Jessie"? [48]

Kamrowski

KAMROWSKI/KAMAROWSKI: Etymologically both versions appear tracebale to the German word Kammer (chamber); it may have originated as a toponymic deisgnation for someone from places such as Kammer (in Germany and Austria) or Kammerbach.

Less than half a dozen people in Poland use the Kamrowski spelling. whrereas some 1,200 sign themselves Kamarowski.
DOROBIAŁA/DORABIAŁA: From verb dorabiać (make extra money on the side). This version reflects a peasant pronunciation and around 90 people in Poland use it. 450 use the grammatically correct Dorabiała spelling.

The Council of Europe i

The Council of Europe initially admitted it had reacted to media reports of the leftstream Michnikite press, bounced back by ideolgocially kindred NYT, BBC, CNN, FAZ, et al. For ideological reasons, the clever, crafty slogans of those propaganda mills underlie the narration that goes out into the world. But that does not make it objective or truthful.

the opposition

The so-called opposition are a band of selfish, self-centred crudballs who have bled Poland dry for 26 years and still haven't sucked their fill. They must be curbed, curtailed or otherwise restrained, because justice, not undeserved cliquish elitism, must prevail. Long live PiS!

Too bad it took this long for IPN to go after PRL criminals. Jaruzelski stopped being president after a hsort term and for 25 years nobody thought to demand the return of state documents. He and Kiszczak had tonnes of them destroyed at Konstancin papermill but otehrs are probably still in exisentce. They could well be the key ones the red badnits held onto as their insurance policy.

so desperate to use power

Remember how PO raided the Wprost offices over the tape scandal? They weren't concerned about top PO figures banqueting at taxpayers' expense nor the rubbish they uttered to embarrass their government but only wanted to track down whoever had done the taping. I seem to recall that some 80 journalists were placed under surveillance. And good ol' Delph turned a blind eye to the whole business. Wonder why? I know. Delph's sense of fair play = PO good, PiS bad.

harassing opposition members

Another delphic misdefinition: If someone from PO, KOD, PSL or Petru u is suspected or investigated in connection witi a crime, that is harassment. But if a PiS meber is, that's justice. Moralność Kalego is still with us! (Google for explanation!)
