Basically racist tropes like they made the desert bloom

Hardly racists since they have.

No Arab state has functioned successfully (or managed to keep the electric on all the time) except KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman who pay others to do it.

Dubai and Qatar are quite efficient however they are both minority Arab. Dubai is over 70% Indian.

they are Arabs let them go elsewhere

It's more that they have somewhere else to go. The majority of Israelis are descended from people who fled the MENA region due to pogroms and repression. They are from that region and have nowhere else to go.

What is Israel supposed to do? The two state solution was raped, murdered and dismembered like Hamas' victims on 7/10

Anyway, this thread is about Iran. One of the vilest and most repressive states in the modern world who were making nukes to destroy a democratic country (they have been explicit about this) and have attacked British ships in the Gulf.

Law / Zloty lifts Poland's Economy [58]

some shopping

If you've got Krone, even though it's fallen a fair bit against sterling, it now seems to be rising again so unless war breaks out soon, autumn might be a good time to visit.

Forget summer. It's jammed with tourists,

The zloty seems to be up and down against sterling. Presumably the same aga8nst other currencies.

He seems to, doesn't he.

There were protests before. Possibly with discreet support from other countries. This may well be the case now.

Some pretty big anti-regime demonstrations in Iran today.

Snap back.

What evidence do you 'need'? Decades of diplomacy? Google is your friend and ChatGPT is your friend with benefits.

As far as I know, they have already produced enough enriched uranium

Hence the bombing of the sites where they do it and where their nuclear technicians are.

As in did the polish jews

Most Israelis have their roots in the MENA region.

The point is that Israel lacks the capability to bomb Iran into submission; Iran is not like Serbia, which can be easily overwhelmed by military force.
---

This is true, however they are vulnerable to carpet bombing by long range aircraft and as a last resort, if it's very existence is under immediate threat, Israel can nuke Tehran and their other main cities. It's not perfect, since Iran is so vast and empty that the regime leaders can hide anywhere.

sound like a maga guy.

Or the opposite.

and look what they did

What did we do?

The Soviet Union was an evil thing. 80 million people through the Gulag system, repeated genocide and constant hunger. There was a reason they had to build a wall to atipnpeople leaving.

Did the Jews

All of them?

Not really net zero, however certainly gender neutral.

Apart from the Seppos' nukes. Those two were a Little Boy and a Fat Man.

And their mother Enola was definitely Gay.

nothing to undermine

Only attempts to make the world a better, safer and more equitable place. Far too many cvnts of all nations try that

Do you have any evidence to support your suspicion?

Do you have any evidence to support your 'suspicion' they haven't.

Do follow world affairs if you're going to comment on them.

There was a deal, though not ideal was working well then Trump blew it up.

True, and there's been talks of different sorts for decades.

Nevertheless, they try to undermine everything and also practise hostage diplomacy.

The problem is that there is very little that can be done to halt Iran's nuclear program

Programme. And yes, it can be halted very easily (and has). Enriching uranium is slow and not at all easy.

Why not make a deal with Iran?

I suspect people have tried their damndest to do that over the decades.

Persians won't make a move towards Europe openly (including nukes) unless they have the capacity and power to do so

It's not so much about making "a move towards Europe". It's about disrupting energy supply, global suply chains (espcially shipping) and also what they may do with their proxi stooges like the Houthis.

Poland doesn't have any specific interests in the region aside from the obvious one: oil

It does. See above. Even if they don't use Iranian oil, any disruption does affect POland.

However, what does this Western alliance have to do with Israel?

Israel is part of it, and Iran would (and probably will) attack other western countries' assets and bases. They have already attacked shipping in the straight of Hormuz. If they attack the big UK naval base in Qatar (which also has an American presence) the missiles will start flying.

Zloty

Not doing so well right now. 5.13 PLN to Sterling. Not that I'm complaining.

The point is that there is clearly an a la carte attitude to this.

That's true, however it's true in life generally. The world is more chaotic than many suppose.

Israel is allowed to do anything it wishes with impunity and I find that disturbing.

The whole thing has been whipped up for decades, largely by r*SSia in order to create a weeping sore in the Holy Land. Arafat was offered a two-state solution however he refused, at the behest of the Soviet Union and their stooges who promised him weapons. Now, since 7/10, there can be no two-state solution. Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, has only Israel. The Arabs (who care little about the European concept of nation states anyway), have the whole region.

they then went on to helpApartheid South Africa develop wmds with no consequences.

The person who led the RSA nuclear project was a Pole from Poland. I know his son who is elderly now.

The usual hackneyed arguments are trotted out about Iran mainly about hair covering and skirt length as though they cared.

Quite. Some of them probably approve of that misogyny.

Everything except legality.

True. Nobody's declared war yet.

We forget that this wasn't a preemptive strike since Iran had launched missiles on Iraq days before.

Much as Bibi has crossed the line in Gaza, Iran, a pariah state sworn to destroy his country, can't be allowed to build nukes.

No more whinging about Ukraine

"Whinging"? Being appalled at the atrocities Bucha, Mariupol and elsewhere isn't whinging. And r*SSia is an even bigger dangler to the world than Iran. We should never appease such places. If we'd not shilly shallied dirimgntehnmid/late 30s about Germany, the world would be a very different place now.

rump does what all us presidents do and their puppies trot

It's hard to know if Trup is actually in charge. He lacks the intellectual capacity and is in obviously poor health. For sure he's not running things. My ,only is on Vance, a wicked human being.

Ask ......Adrian

With an ouija board?

stalking Americans by using "Public Arrest Records" to

No stalking, nationality is irrelevant and in any case, ChatGPT does the job nicely. Nobody needs to look further since the AI does it for you. And as far as I'm aware (someone else looked them/you up ) they were not 'arrest records'. They were conviction records and newspaper articles about trials.

I was Jim Werden

You stills are and you admitted it, Given the number of people here that you've tried to doxx and/or cause trouble for in real life, you have no grounds whatsoever if a former member of the forum that you'd tried to hurt in real life does the same to you.

Now stop whining and go for a nice walk.

acoustics

Yes. The metal is for acoustics.

It has the largest stage in Europe

Almost. It's a wide stage, though not very deep in comparison. Not the widest, Salzburg is three times as wide which can be a problem for them sometimes.

This is both bad and good in a specific way. Bad because it severely limits the co-productions they can do (impossible to transfer anything from or to Covent Garden which has a very deep stage but isn't very wide). Good because it matches well with the stages in Brussels and Cardiff and often shares co-productions that they share as a three.

The width also means it's got good visibility and is great for ballet.

was brought back into the popular milieu by the Ilkhanid Mongols, under a grandson of Hulegu

It was revived by the Shah in the twentieth century. What they were doing 590 years ago is neither here nor there.

At least their nuclear programme has been destroyed, and it would be appropriate that any other arms manufacturers are also taken out of action, especially those that sell drones to pariah states.

Is Poland?

As you know, Poland and most other European countries benefitted from relatively low worldwide oil prices that existed for several years caused by the rise in production after the Iraq war, so yes, better.

It's also gained people from Iraq, especially doctors, engineers and academics who have settled in PL and co tribute to the economy. It's likely, given Poland's historic links with Iran, that the Iranian community, again, educated professionals, will settle too.

Poland has no interest in this region of the world.

It does.

Aside from millions of złotych worth of trade (which has been decreasing but is still important, especially Styrene polymers) any conflict in that region may well make oil prices rocket, something Polish consumers, the Polish government and Polish businesses can ill afford.

As you know, Iran has a long coast on the Arabian Gulf. This is a huge risk to oil shipments and other trade (including exports from Poland. Plus the billions of dollars of trade between Poland and countries bordering Iran. This will be affected if the war continues to escalate

Taking sides would be unwise.

Poland has already taken sides. It is part of the western alliance. It cannot stay out of this as if it were Switzerland and at the same time expect help from other countries in the future.
