I assure you Bulgarians are darker since Persian invasion and trade of Persian era, not because of Turks. I won`t exclude Turkish influence because Bulgaria was considered deeper within Turkish territory so was literally under Turkish occupation from before 1400 to the 1880 when was partly liberated and all to the 1912 when Turkish European army was destroyed by Serbian army in decisive Kumanovo battle.
When we are at it, Lusatian-Prussian Serb Eugen Paulus (changed name to Pavle Jurisic), The Slayer of Ottomans and Austrians, commandeered the Drina Division, distinguished itself exactly at the Battle of Kumanovo after which Paulus was promoted to the rank of general. Later, in 1914 during the Battle of Cer, as the General commander of Serbian 3rd army he gave prompt support to the flanks of Serbian 2nd and 1rd army and that way greatly contributed to the victory that is in history recorded as first great battle won by Entente alliance during WWI.
Anyway, the Persian Empire, during Achaemenid dynasty held 40% of the world's population. They were at that time, 500 BC, richest in terms of resources, infrastructure, societal factors. For 100 years and more they held Bulgaria and European Greece. They (as Persian and Seleucid Empire) fought war with Romans for 700 years and very few people even know this. And who ended Persian Empire? Sarmatians, who else. Alexander the Great was Sarmatian, not Greek. Hellenized indeed but he was not Greek. As Sarmatian in origin, most of his victorious army was consisted of Sarmatians. In fact, most of Greeka nd Roman armies was consisted of Sarmatians (ie Slavs).
So, Turks did influence Bulgaria but Semitic influence in general precede Turks.
And sure, let us not forget, Slavs are people that lived on inter-continental level since time immemorial. It would be naive, because of climate, different meridians and distances, to think how Whites from Slavic north must look exactly same as Slavs of Slavic south. Politics well reflects in sport. That`s how it is. I nicely says that Poland and Russia needs to intervene and help to Ukrainians to define their real national borders. I would also include Serbia as mediative factor between Polish and Russian troops on terrain. What Germany, EU and USA wants? Its Slavic world and we should organize peacefull formation of Ukrainian state. Territories out of it goes to Poland and Russia.
