UK, Ireland / Polish immigrants in the UK - victims or criminals?! [283]

I was worried about reportiing this drug addicted *****, and was sick of her asbo kids hanging about in the street, attacking mine, while she entertained her customers, but in the end it only took one call to end the problem to as unknown to me her place was already under police observation.

All I had to suffer was one 'dirty look'. We should not be scared.
The law is on our side, after all.
Besides I doubt this is some inner city estate, as there is no mains gas.

Having these eveil rotten neighbours has ruined my life

so do not let this happen!! Do not be a victim!
you can contact the council about the noise and the fly tipping, and as Jonny said, social services about the kid.
Make their life hell instead. It will only take a few very easy phone calls.
Oh and most importantly, keep a diary of noise/incidents.

Work / The level of English of Polish teachers of English. What do you think of it? [101]

: This expression: "a sense of false importance", characterizes so well so many teachers of English
....and is poor English in itself....." a false sense of importance" would be correct :)

no, the first is what I wanted to say.

Yes,but clearly not "native", this is where the problem lies. They never get the subtle cadence right and there is always at least one missing "the" . ;)

so what? One missing 'the'?
I have known native English teachers who know very little about how to teach grammar, who think that 'brought' and 'bought' are interchangeable, who need to ask how to spell the word vocabulary, and get all red faced and cross when the student uses an Americanism.

I would rather work with a non native speaker any day.

Spur detrimental distractions to tackle to channel
Foresight essential graduation backing instant
To obtain unkempt issue to carry away on a whim
Sibling whereas to assume affluent rage
Dejected call in sick to alleviate remote adolescent
Looming rumour to bring up congested lack

Pawian that is insane...;)

You lot especially you Harry are so puffed up with a sense of false importance. You know nothing about me. My partner was here in UK before I met him. I have taught English in Poland, without thinking that makes me someone really special and clever like you..;) Also I have contributed in ways that I do not care to share on a public forum. Get a life, little man.

Sorry to sound negative but Avalon sounds like another Brit like you with his head up his azz.

I take 4 of the best, at no cost, to help them out. They have all obtained top marks, which, pleases the parents and my partner. Its not about money, its about giving something back in the area where I live.

you use the students who already have the best marks to make yourself look/feel good>?

It's probably quite OK if you are used to it, I think we all adjust to our own horrible water.

Food / British food products in Poland? [334]

I really cannot believe that anyone would leave Britain and crave these utterly loathsome and revolting foodstuffs.

News / Poles start to feel arrogant and superior to Southern Europeans [182]

I cannot help myself and I DO THINK that lots of other immigrants and locals are nothing more then scumbags.

you might have a self esteem problem or be at that normal transitive stage that immigrants go through where they perceive themselves as superior to those around them.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

Javier Bardem? Who in God's name is that?

a very handsome Spanish actor, FYI.

The most beautiful are the late teens and early twenty somethings :)

Be careful Seanus, ill favoured old men drooling over nubile young lovelies can land themselves in whole pile of doo doo. No wonder your wife wants a divorce.

I see so many 'mooses' now. Not good to look at at all.

Right Seanus, so I suppose that you look like Javier Bardem?
Or maybe you think that your character, or integrity is more important?

Life / What is Poland's fastest growing ethnic group? [57]

They do not integrate, they have created alien hostile ghettos, they burn poppies on our memorial day,

In general, this is crap. Its just a handful of over publicised extremists giving normal people a bad name.

Life / Racism in Poland - the future [558]

LwowskaKrakow

None of my Polish friends are racist antisemitic homophobic because they are well educated, love meeting other cultures and beyond all they are good human beeings.

yeh, but just because that is the 'tribe' you have chosen, doesn't mean the others don't exist.

UK, Ireland / Polish immigrants in the UK - victims or criminals?! [283]

The moment they open their mouth you can make a very accurate guess as to their education and social status.

well that may be.....but educated people still have regional accents....or are you one of those Ozzie hyper snobs stuck in the dark ages who think that only the 'Queens English' is valid?

you are not the brightest chap around, so i fancy you would find it quite hard-especially with your regional accent which I am almost certain you have (in my experience low intelligence and that usually go together in the UK, as does stupidity and voting Labour)

hang on........what exactly are you saying here? That anyone with a regional accent is stupid??
That's one of the most cretinous statements I have read here yet. And that is saying something.

History / POLAND: EASTERN or CENTRAL European country? [1090]

You are in Eastern Europe on the borders of Russia.

basic geographical fact is that Europe ends at the Ural mountains. Have a look at the map if you can be arsed.
Which would put Poland and Germany quite definitely in Central eUROPE. Mitteleuropa??

everybody in England says Eastern Europe

nah only uneducated douchebags like you, oh and the Daily Mail.
