News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

Then I thought about Biden,

I did, too, and concluded that he is a traitor and that Lukashenko is not one bit worse than that pos. Actually, Lukashenko is better and more democratic. He was in favor of both referenda in 1995 and 1996. Quoting en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elections_in_Belarus

The referendum was accompanied by a constitutional crisis, a conflict between president Alexander Lukashenko and the oppositional parliament. There have been mass street protests by the opposition protesting against the referendum and against human rights violations.

To the Lukashenko hating idiots here: a legally binding referendum is the essence of democracy and the human right to free expression. Nobody but the Soros goons would protest having one. Yeah, what a concept... people deciding directly and bypassing the corrupt "representatives". That's anarchy!!! My representative knows best!!!

You notice that people who defend such regimes usually do so from the freedom, comfort and safety

of the democracies they supposedly despise - you don't see them moving to Belarus, do you?

The stupidest thing to say. Here is the same idiotic idea in reverse:

You notice that people who oppose such regimes usually do so from the freedom, comfort and safety of the democracies - you don't see them moving to Belarus to join the protesters, do you?

Yes, I can express the opinion that Sun is way too hot without being there. Duh!

Some were severely beaten and have health problems today

You mean like Floyd? Poor guy... I hope he is feeling better now.

Let's cut the crap. Every system will resist its demise. Belarus and every other country have an obligation to treat protesters as the enemy of the state if they as much as throw a candy wrapper on the sidewalk. Do you want to make changes? Fine. Write to your legal representative. You want to set up barricades? Cool, too. Just get ready for the consequences and don't ask your mom to later tell the judge that you are a good kid.

In my opinion, foreign "protesters" should be shot on the spot. OK, next day.

Anyway all that stupid propaganda and...

...the rest of your post summarizes it very well.
Poland has no obligation to make others happy. Only the Poles. Period.

How about if they arrest you for standing alone on a bus stop?

No reasonable suspicion or arrest warrant? That would be terrible. But, again, cops have a right to ask who you are. How you (editorial) answer means a lot.

The last time it happened to me, I gave them my name, date of birth, and asked if I am under arrest or free to go. I was not under arrest and I was free to go. So simple.

Do you suggest it is still not enough to call it oppression?

No. They arrested many on January 6 in DC, too, and nobody calls the US an oppressive police state other than the BLM and Antifa scum.

Oppression is when they knock on your door at 5 am because of what you said the day before and the family will not see you for a very long time - if ever.

Screaming, breaking, disobeying legit police orders, and inciting violence are not "protesting" and reacting to it to restore order is not oppression.
It's a known trick to act up and later claim that it was protesting. We have seen it here too many times to fall for this bs.

I would have to read the charges and the verdicts to accept anything from a leftist like you.

News / Poland to return to Catholic tradition? [177]

those people are plebs, serfs and traitors at heart or fools

I wouldn't go this far but I would say that nobody is really a communist, fascist, or whatever. People just want to survive, hop on the best wagon, and pretend. The better they pretend, the bigger the reward. Some even become popes because somebody has to be.

Belarus requires more and more loans from their Bigger Brother to survive.

Do you mean like the USA? How awful!
How about that "oppression"? How many are in prisons for their political views?

By God, I love brat Lukashenko.

I am trying to find out if I should love him or hate him but I am not getting any help here - even from the PF experts on all things.

Other than the "activists" trying to make him run for his life to Moscow, the Ukrainian style, what did Lukashenko do that is so "evil" to the less "progressive" lower 99%?

Like my hero, Putin, does he keep gays away from the kids? Migrants from Belarus? What?

inciting social hatred

I love it! Straight from the German penal code. "Incitement of hatred"...

what kind of crap country outlaws protest?

Any country where the rights of others are violated by the protesters. Like the right to a quiet night and the right to go from place A to place B anytime I want and the protesters make it impossible.

this is not your fcuking business

Quote of the week. That's all the rabid dogs here deserve.

Protesters should be required to post a bond or have liability insurance or protest on Facebook 24/7 and have even bigger crowds than they could manage on the Red Square.

But this is not what they want. What they want are camera-ready bloody confrontations and "victims". The more, the better. Crying and bleeding....Boohoo...

I will take the Belarus police over the impotent pretenders like we had in Seattle and Portland every minute of every day.
The day the cops are afraid of the rioters - sorry, mostly peaceful protesters - is the day when "democracy" and "society" lose all meaning and people run to buy more guns - if they can.

At least in Belarus and Russia, the cops are not barricading themselves in their saferooms to count the days till retirement while the city is in flames.

1985: US jets intercept a plane with ship hijackers on board
In October 1985 an Egyptian plane carrying suspected Palestinian militants was intercepted by US fighter jets and forced to land at a US base in Italy.

why it's good to hijack a plane to arrest a political dissident....

That kind of language is a cheap trick and gets this conversation nowhere.
Governments don't "hijack". They direct to land. They don't "rob". They tax. They don't "kidnap". They arrest. They don't "murder". They execute.

Even the governments you and I don't like.
Belarus government has full authority over the planes in their airspace. They ordered that plane to land for reasons they were not required to explain.

As I already wrote, the Russians in Smolensk should have done the very same thing in 2010 and save that stupid pilot from himself and others on board but the idiot knew better and everybody died.

When the cops tell you to pull over, that is not open to negotiations. The same with planes. When they tell you to land, you land.

I see it as hardly laughible standup show with a stupid script.

They don't debate what you write. They debate what you should have written to fit their perverted view of Russia. It's like a cult that needs a boogeyman to keep the stupid in line. Now, for a moment, they have Belarus to amaze themselves with.

BTW, I am still waiting for the evidence of torture and oppression. In the meantime, just for reference, the US has 4 times as many in prisons as the world's average. 650 vs 150 per 100,000, to be specific, and twice as many in Belarus.

For example - whole story with Navalny poisoning.

I always viewed the Navalny story as an insult to the good name of Russia's version of the CIA. My sincere hope is that they are, like Mossad, a lot more competent than the way Western presswhores claim. When they want somebody dead, they die and, like you suggested, in a manner that is not easily traced back to them.

Unless they want to, which probably was the case with that a-hole with Polonium 210 for a snack in the UK who just couldn't figure out what STFU means. Now the dissidents running their mouths off from the safety of a foreign country know. Good. You want to be a hero? Do it at home.

the more brutal the dictatorship, the happier it makes you!

And especially when they don't give a fu*ck about "international opinion" which, like a bad fart, dissipates quickly. That is why I respect Russia and the way it responded to that snake NATO, Ukraine putsch, and the process of encircling. Now, Crimea is Russia's. This time forever.

Did you see that bridge they built in less than 2 minutes?

Instead, look 30 years back and see what happened to the West and what happened to the USSR and Russia. Not even close.

The whole thread is only marginally about a diverted flight. It's about the evil of Belarus' "dictator" and tangentially Russia's - no names, no numbers. Just general feel-good bs.

One day soon, Eastern Europe - Belarus and Russia included - will be a reminder of what happens when idealistic Western morons run their own places into the ground the way California's idiots did their state.

If that plane is any indication of how Belarus will protect itself from the Western rot, I salute Belarus and its "strongman".

They are well trained how to do "honest faces" though, but that's all...

Since Korea, it has been "we will kill you because we love you".

You have assured yourself that Russia is your mortal enemy, and you act accordingly.

But that doesn't apply to Germany. Now, the ex-barbarians are our friends because they "repented" and give us money.

I read en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poles_in_Belarus and I agree with Belarussians and their hostility to the Poles in their country. Either become like us or get the hell out.

No country benefits from or needs minorities. In this case, that minority is acting like a country in a country. Quoting:

As Poland supports the pro-democracy opposition in Belarus, Polish-Belarusian relations are poor, and representatives of the Polish minority in Belarus often complain about various repressions, such as the jailing for 15 days of the former head of the Union of Poles, Tadeusz Gawin. He was sentenced on 2 August 2005 for arranging a meeting between a visiting deputy speaker of the Polish parliament, Donald Tusk, and the ethnic Polish activists including Veslaw Kewlyak, also sentenced to 15 days.

What's next? Polish minority in Belorus signing a treaty with Poland? Also, Poland supporting the opposition in Belarus is known as meddling, if not sabotage. Just as Russia was accused of sabotaging the American "democracy" recently.

15 days is not even a slap on the wrist. If that is repression, the word has to get a new definition. The idea that some minority is meeting foreign parliamentarians and has demands should never be tolerated. Poles in Belarus should be given a choice of becoming Belarussians in every sense of the word - language, loyalty, and associations - or out. Poland and Czechoslovakia did that with the Germans. It was brutal but necessary and beneficial.

History / What do Poles owe to Jews? [599]

Sadly misguided majority,

BS. They knew what he was doing and they were proud as the other Germans were conquering country after country. If they were misguided, every single person on the globe can claim the same and disclaim responsibility.

Misguided or obedient. Didn't work very well at Nuremberg, did it?

I am not sure where to plug it in but, since it's about evil Russia...Quoting from:

dnyuz.com/2021/05/26/russia-raises-heat-on-twitter-google-and-facebook-in-online-crackdown/

Russia's internet regulator, Roskomnadzor, recently ramped up its demands for the Silicon Valley companies to remove online content that it deems illegal or restore pro-Kremlin material that had been blocked.

It tastes so sweet to see those American fascists getting the taste of their own poison from somebody bigger than that little Jew and other scum like him. Love it...Good job, Russia! Greetings from the land of the 1st Amendment that was!

Have enough resources for itself and her natural enemies destruct from within.

Brilliant post, Crow!

All Russia and China have to do is watch and smile. And the Crimea episode was an eye-opener...and perfectly executed; no shots fired and no real pain either.

No wonder Lukashenko sleeps well.

Lukashenka and Kremlin intelligence which plotted that hijacking.

It is obvious that the Kremlin was involved.

If you are trying to make me feel better, it's working. That polonium-210 stunt was so cool, too; message sent and received. Just as the US in 1986 in Libya - except that 40 people were killed during delivery.

Putin is playing a silly game - his stubborn support...

So, Putin is silly and stubborn but, thanks to a teacher in Poland, will see the errors of his way and revise his relationship with Belarus. I am going to send him a link to your post.
