Love / Do Polish people like Scottish people (friendship or relationship with a Scot)? [56]

Whilst the Braveheart film was very much Hollywood script it was based around historical events, even though they were inaccurately portrayed.

you could say that.....just a bit. That Gibson should have been done for inciting racial hatred. Mind you he looked good in a kilt.

and having a parent from a certain country doesnt give you some fantastic insight into the history and politics of that country, it just makes you biased.

Being oppressed and exploited by larger and more powerful neighbours,

.
that's such a myth, all the money in Britain is in the hands of Scots and has been for many years. Just my opinion, but I don't buy into all that wildly inaccurate 'Braveheart' tosh, it was all just an invention.

Travel / Any Anglican churches in Poland? [35]

well maybe, but what is interesting is just how many people never changed from the 'old religion'......and also how close the two churches have become (Cardinal Newman and the Oxford movement), so much so that the last time I was in an ostensibly 'Anglican' church I became convinced I had read the sign at the door wrongly....the smell of incense nearly knocked me out..

News / History lessons no more in Poland (Tusk's change) [61]

yes and even before that all they do is have a day where they dress up as Victorians say. In one junior school I know, the history topic was Nelson Mandela in THREE separate years.

Travel / Hard Candy - Krakow, Poland - reviews? [131]

Why is it that polish people on this forum ALWAYS has to bash so hard on tourist

I am not Polish I am a Londoner. I just think it is funny...OK maybe I have a warped sense of humour. ..these places have always been in London, we were brought up on warnings about them. Strangely they seemed to operate within the law.... Sorry to have offended anybody.

Poor guys really, I remember once I went into a late night 'pub' in Athens, not knowing that a 'pub' is a euphemism for bordello in that city.......

But you know...there WAS a clue in the name.....
and theres nothing wrong with my morals....

Language / IS "MURZYN" word RACIST? [686]

By the way, who are the 'PC brigade'?

oh I expect they are friends of the 'femi-fascists'.
Any word is racist if it is used in an aggressive or derogatory way.

Life / a funny poem in Polish (not mine) [11]

hey Pam, check this google chrome translation!!

Somewhere in Poland, in a small town,
sat Mietek ass in the dough.
He wanted to bake a cake Jadźce,
it equally exceptional Madro-fool. He had a recipe from a neighbor, which often bite the buttocks. He got the recipe from her, before she took it "on the gore . " The provision of simple, eggs, flour, Mietek in the kitchen is already wandering. little bit of milk, a cup of sugar, the dough will be full of icing. In the bottom of the card from a neighbor, which is always sexy pants. Krech naskrobane Fat, Alcohol, and add the cream. had cream Mietek galore, a jar full of a hundred cows. But spirituous does not have, ran after him to the neighbor. gave him the "deer" with three hundred, the rest put to the couches. took Mietek Alcohol, quickly, before he left in the doorway gulped. He returned home a modest thresholds very blissful state of carnal ;) Now you probably all clear why the ass in a bowl with the cake ;)

Life / Babcia or Busha - any social class difference? [359]

look, who cares? 'Nanny', in reference to grandmother, is not a word uttered by the elite of British society. Who gives one? People can call their relatives what the hell they like.

Love / Indian citizen wants to marry Polish Girl and get settled there. [107]

You're hardly someone with enough life experience to make comments about my life,

so that's not a comment about my life then? ;)
you know about my age, my life experience do you?
I wouldn't be that arrogant (like you) to comment about your life, I was merely making a fair observation on your PF obsessions, which are obvious from your posts, and seem a bit weird.

History / Mother tongue in Poland - acccording to 1931 census. [174]

the very complicated Polish grammar and language developed into what it is now mostly before Poland was subjected to any foreign rule (foreign rule only started in the 18th century and the language was mostly already formed)

that's my point though........Wheras English grammar has been much simplified since then, Polish has not, which could be due to political reasons, IMHO. I will have to look into it.
