I read the excerpts using the included link. Those are clearly shocking and unfriendly to a Pole. If you switch sides, his statements are as patriotic as can be considering the history of aggression toward Russia by the French and German megalomaniacs. So, I am not surprised that Russia wants buffer states - today more than ever. That cancer aka NATO must be keeping those in charge in Moscow awake at night.

Poland joining NATO is one thing. Poles playing shocked and stupid about Russia's attitude and its reaction to it is another.

I never experienced their barbarism but as a grandpa of four girls, my hate for those who hurt kids has no upper limit. The children of Lidice being just one example.

Off the subject: I would actually pay to be allowed to execute a child murderer.

Back to the subject. The problem here is that every atrocity is always colored by the emotions of the observer. And that is why there is no way to have a reasonable discussion with Poles when Katyn is mentioned. To them, it's equal to Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Majdanek combined. When I said that the Katyn numbers are not even close to the other WW2 numbers, and they would kill me if they could.

If they are Polish Jews, they are not Poles. If they were Poles, you would say Jewish Poles - as opposed to the Catholic Poles or any other Poles.

If it's too subtle or my English is too primitive for you, in "Catholic Poles", "Poles" is the noun and "Catholic" is an adjective and, therefore, secondary on the importance scale. In "Polish Jews", it's in reverse and makes zero sense unless the intent is to accentuate separateness.

The I know personally argument deserves only one response. Guess what it is.

Again, the same "both sides" crap. There are no bad Russians and bad Germans. Germans came to Poland to murder and enslave. Russians came to Poland to stop the murders and to liberate. They installed a government that was friendly to the USSR just like the US installs and protects governments friendly to the US. BFD!

Every German soldier who rode into Poland and later into the USSR signed his death warrant to be executed at the discretion of the defenders. Both Poland and the USSR exercised unbelievable restrain and compassion by not executing every single one of them. Raising hands when it became a matter of saving their own German asses should change nothing. Many in Auschwitz would like to raise their hands to live.

Bottom line: the Geneva Convention sucks because it promotes wars.

Please, don't this "Jewish Poles" anymore. Google it in quotes, and you will get 46k hits. If you reverse it to "Polish Jews", it's 714k hits, which more honestly represents who they were - they were Jews, first and foremost, who, by the way, just happened to live in Poland. The only honest way of saying it is Jews born in Poland. The fact that they spoke Polish means nothing.

The difference between these two forms could not be clearer. Same two words, different meaning.

Like with so many other issues, in this case, too, there are no "both sides". There were the barbarians and their victims. As victims, the Soviets were morally entitled to take any action against the German subhumans they could think of.

According to my sense of morality and fairness, every single German who crossed the Soviet border with the orders to kill should have been executed when captured - with no exceptions and regardless if they committed "crimes against humanity" or not. That is why in my minority opinion, Germany should erect a monument of appreciation to Stalin and the Soviet Union for the gift of life given to those barbarians who were allowed to go back home alive.
