On communal level they are already working over party-limits, they are there to big to ignore already (especially in the East).....and again....in maybe 4 more years as opposition leaders with the AfD on all monitors, in all talk shows etc. just as part of the normal daily politics....what do you think will happen?

The best outcome for them....delivered as wished!

1.) Now 152 seats in the parliament (bevor 63!)

2.) Weidel is now leader of the opposition! (Lotsa more rights, money and attention! For example she is now allowed to speak directly as second after Merz in important disputes!)

3.) Now allowed more insights, seats and even leadership of important boards and control committees!!!!
(For example even in the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution!)

You will now see and hear alot more of her....at the end oft this periode will probably stay the definite acceptance of the party, with being a viable coalition option after the next great election....the path is clear!

Now the other outcome, being part of the new gov already now....and being blamed for all its upcoming failures and difficulties...she would surely lose some of her glamour and with its votes and support!

That can only the new gov achieve.....they f****ck it up (again) and the AfD is the next big thing in Germany!

(In the East they already are)


That is not carved in stone already. The next weeks and months will tell!

IMHO both is possible....he will disappoint allies and adversaries and new elections soon it is.....or....he grows some balls and re-directs the country onto a healthier path, as everybody and his grandmom expects him to!

Interesting poll lately in a male gay dating app ("Romeo")....it even made the waves in the mainstream media. A poll found out that nearly a third of the gays and bisexual men there prefer the AfD, far more than any other party!

And that is seemingly not unusual across Germany......the AfD and gays are quite very okay with each other....and that a lesbian leads the party right now somehow fits very well in that image. Nothing ironic about it.

Totally different is the image with the trans people though...both openly and honestly detest each other....that is true also!

More people, even a growing population back then!

The European Union, with open borders for members and products, helped for awhile....now I guess it's either "Baby-Duty" for women, or a fast and thorough mechanization....a technological progress that allows an economy to serve millions with only a handful of workers....or something like that.

Otherwise its immigration....but it doesn't need to be from such far away places....they just don't fit here!

See....we have similiar discussion in Germany....hence my doubts!

I dunno about the billionaires, but the corporations NEED powerless immigrants....those who start at the bottom, illegal or not, only able (and more important willing) to get the cheapest, lowest paid, precarious and most dirty jobs.

In Germany we have minimum wage (for Germans)....many corporations would go broke fulfilling all these german laws and obligations (for Germans)....so, at least the cooperations are not the ones asking for less immigration or closed borders. In the US it is the same....so, Trump can't be working for them!

I guess, the old socialist-capitalist concepts of the enemy are not working anymore!

No, they won't! Every survey and poll makes that clear, the majority wants a change....strongly and quickly!

But the people on the streets are alot better organized and used to protesting and screaming....but in three weeks is election, these results can't be demanded or forced. And the worse they behave now the more people won't vote for them...


I doubt that very much.....the numbers for the CDU and even Merz are stable in the actual surveys! A "disaster" would look differently...

...that sounds rather human. Natural human reactions....but it must be said that wasn't a continous thing for all to all times.

As the Cold War startet the western allies needed the western Germans and toned down all that.....the same happened in the East. The Nazi crimes and the punishment for that faded into the background of actual politics.
As was mentioned already....it had been the "roaring Sixties", the 68er youth rebellion (if you call it like that), the next generation, which had nothing to do with that, which started to bring it to the forefront again and pointing fingers at the many ex-Nazis in gov and society....also only in the West that ist...in the East it was not much of a topic for forty years at all (especially the Holocaust that is) besides the glorious victory of Communism over Capitalism.

As I remember it became a big topic again in the course of the re-unificaton of West and East.....mainly stemming from fear of a to-strong Germany again...and unresolved reparation questions and re-negotiated borders and such...and here we are!

Yeah....there isn't an East German who does not remember that from school....and it had quite the impact on us. One of the main reasons ex-GDRler are often so much more Russia-friendly than their western compatriots.
