PIS minions

The Platformers had 8 years to bleed the country dry with their scams, kickbacks and failed contracts of the Airbus variety. Do they really want another round of their scandals, ruses and deceptions?

urge you to contact the public prosecutor

Thanks but no thanks. Snitching is your forte. Meanwhile that resentful and frustrated KODite Tomasz Lis shot himself in the foot when he decided to conduct a Newsweek political-preference poll. The results knocked him out of his chair:

59%PiS
21%.Nowoczesna
11%PO
9%Kukiz'15

were anything but that.

They were bad only for pervs and weirdos who were justifiably stigmatised and kept in their place rather than allowed to run rampant and try to impose their views on the moral majority.

drunks, work shirkers and wife beaters

So you equate the poor with drunks, work shirkers nad wife beaters, do you? In fact back in the day there were also the honest poor, probably the majority such as a widow taking in washing to raise her 8 or 9 kids.

misery of families

Not having been there you can ahistorically impose your current biases and phobias on a bygone period you are personally unfamiliar with. Sure, all kinds of things sporadically occurred. The things you mention were typical of an underclass of slum-dwellerism drunks, work shirkers and wife beaters, but the average family was tight knit. Premarital intimacies were rare and the average marriage age was 20-24. Compared to today's confused and unhappy kids, fatherless households and patchwork families, those can indeed be called the good old days.

Yes, I know -- divorces were rare, so was shacking up, complete nuclear families were the norm, families went to church together and did other things as a family. Atomisation had not yet occurred, and pop culture was not peddling long hair, cacophonic rock, drugs and freaky hippy stuff which the parents' generation would disapprove of. The tight-knit, integrated family was the norm. And guess what -- people left their cars unlocked, even with the windows rolled down and the only danger was a sudden downpour. I know -- I was there!

'good old days'

Indeed, the good ol' days were good for average families, for youngsters who had male and female role models in their homes and for normal people in general, the overwhelming majority of society. They were not good for a fringe of pervs, advocates of dysfuncitonal households, anarchic "anything goes" types and other freaks and weirdos.

when human life begins

When there is a constituional majorits, efforts will be made to enshrine in the constitution that the Republic of Poland protects human life from conception to natural death. That would rule out both abortion and euthanasia.

agents capable of making their own moral decisions

Women are free to do with THEIR own bodies as they see fit -- self-mutilate with piercings and tongue studs (yuk!), get tattooed form head to toe, get a facelift, chop off their right hand, gouge out the left eye, even commit suicide. They are not free to deicde the fate of a separate, sovereign being which by the laws of nature (or God) she carries beneath her heart.

do you want women who get them to go to prison?

Not necessarily. You know there is involuntary manslaughter, first degree murder and other qualifications for terminating dsomeone's life.

pro-woman petition

You must have a very low opinion of females if you think they all are gung-ho advocates of prenatal murder. The pro-abortion faction is but a fraction of Polish womanhood.

we Slavs

Dunno if all Serbs share the Slavic obsession you are constantly articulating, but Poles, Czechs, Ukrainians, Slovaks and probably Croats as well do not think of themselves as "we Slavs". They think of themselves as "We Slovaks, we Poles, we Ukrianians...." No-one else on this forum is constantly spouting your style of pan-Slavism, equating with Scythians and other extinct tribes and pointing up the Slavs' alleged superiority to other ethnic groupos. Yes, Slavs constitute one branch of the Indo-European language, but that's the end of it. You are the only person I have ever met that is obsessed about re-Slavicising Europe. repopulating the world with people of Slavic blood. Slavs are not only no better than Germanic or Latinic peoples, they are wrose, having contributed far less to the treasury of human achievements.

100,000 signatures

I thought collecting at least 100,000 signatures obliges the Sejm to process the motion. The Pro-lifers got 450,000 sigs, the abortionits half as many, but
both were over 100,000. Does the law state that such petitons can be rejected in commitee and then by the full Sejm?

Language / The "end piece" of a loaf of bread in Polish [80]

nd slice of a loaf of bread as the kromka

In standard Polish, kromka is a slice of bread, any slice. The end.slice is known as a piętka (little heel). There may be regional variants of course.

loaf of bread

The generic term for different kinds of savoury breadstuffs in Poland is pieczywo (baked goods). But cakes and pastries are referred to as wypieki (sweet baked goods). Each language has its own rhythm and style.

Hindu influences

Hindus are behind much of the anti-Christian terror in Asia including murder of Christians and destruction of their churches. Buddhists have remained faithful to their ideology of tolerance and non-violence.

more plans to support life

PM Szydło has announced plans for a programme of financial compensation to parents who choose to raise children with Down's syndrome or other deformities rather than having them scraped out in the foetal stage.

Like the recent PIS proposal

The lying feminists twisted their propaganda to make it seem PiS were behind the abortion ban. That actually led to violence in Poznań when the hysteriical female agitators decided to march on PiS headquarters after the demonstration had ended.

religious-based plans

That's only natural in Catholic Poland. It would be strange if they rolled out christophobic or anarcho-lefty-libertine plans that are not accepted by the Polish nation and therefore doomed to failure.

parliament will vote

Palriament has voted to reject the abortion ban. A miracle has occurred: PO and Nowoczesna rather than using the occasion for more hystgericla PiS-bashing voted with PiS to reject the proposal. That shows they are capable of cooperating and acting in good faith and not just ranting, mud-slinging and stirring up trouble. Perhaps there still is hope for the loser camp's lunatic fringe.

FT says

The FT says a lot of things and gets them wrong. It saidu the govt did a u-turn on the abortion ban which is an outright lie. The govt never supported the ban -- that was a proposal by an anti-abortion group that had collected 450,000 signatures, whereas 100,000 are sufficient to submit a measure to the Sejm.

read Polish law

Is there a Polish law against appointing trusted people to key posts? Where is it: civil code (?), paragraph, section, points, subpointa? There is one against tender fixing and that was a part and parcel of the PO regime's standard MO. Except you never once complained. Interesting, eh?

we are forbidden from changing

What about PiSlamic State ? That is mocking the PiS party, and it is highly offensive to everyone.
The good change govt is still cleaning up the post-PO mess. PO gave the helicopter deal to French Airbus despite a poor offset arrangement when there were two helicopter factories in Poland. The govt has terminated the negotiations with the frogs. And nobody had as many oldboys in cushy posts than PO, except that somehow never bothered you. Yes,you are the truly the epitome of fairness. NOT!

people entirely unqualified

And you are the alfa & omega expert on people's qualfications.

pretense of competition

An adequate term because the PO regime was known for its tender fixing. What's the good of a tender or job competiton if the winner (who pays the highest bribe) is agreed behind the scenes? If there was a crooked way of doing things, the Platformer regime made use of it. In the past I have linked to PO's 500 scams and unkept promises, but unfortunately you read no Polish, and it's not available in Anglo-jabber.

PiSlamic State

So Scam Platform is a better name for PO than the POO party because it is a precise description of how the Tusk & Kopacz mafia operate. I'm all for it. We can't wait for crooked Tusk to end up in the dock for interrogaiton over the AmberGold scam in which he and his family were involved. Bring thre popcorn, the show is about to start!

recognised by both my country and yours

It was a puppet state recognised by the addle-brained, degenerating FDR over the opposition of Churchill. If it were not, there would have been no reason to overturn it in 1989. The very fact that PRL parroted the Kremlin's version that Katyń was the work of Germans, whilst every Pole knew the truth, and Soviet occupation forces were stationed on Polish territory proves the fact that PRL was no sovereign, independent state.

Whenever you're proved wrong you usually squeal that the soruce was unreliable, and you'll probably do it again. But Wikipedia states clearly:
"At the time of its founding during final stages of World War II, Poland was regarded as a puppet entity set up and controlled by the Soviet Union,[2] and over time, it developed into a satellite state of the Soviet Union.[3]

PiSlamic State

So your left pinky is not paralysed after all. Incidentally, how does PiSlamic differ from the POO party. Neither is the proper name which you have always so adamantly defended. Have you forgotten? Sampling 50 beers again today?

fundamentalist regime

The ruling PiS and opposition PO voted to reject the abortion ban in committee. Tomorrow the Sejm will do likewise. 2/3 of all Poles favour keeping the existing abortion law -- a good compromise in force since 1993. Again common sense has prevailed, and PO has finally used its brain rather than hysterical, rabble-rousing emotions.

citizens supported socialism

On the surface to be sure. But deep down... PRL-era Poles were like radishes -- red on the outside. When a totalitarian occupation authority takes over, everything from a passport to a diploma, job, building permit, etc. depedns on the good graces of the regime, and people do have to live, support their families and try to function as best they can.

They are strictly forbidden

Poles were strictly forbidden from blowing up Nazi supply trains in the General Governorate, and Americans were forbidden from dumping British tea into Boston Bay in the late 1700s... But when hostile enemy occupation occurs, and PRL was an occupied puppet state, those niceties are not binding and defiance inlcuding sabotage is a patriotic act.

prosecute dissidents

Repeating this willl not make it true. Dissidents accounted for less than 1% of all cases and such cases were reserved for trusted die-hard PZPR prosecutors. Secondly, one need not keep an oath made to a hostile, Soviet-occupied puppet state. So again you are creating hypothetical situations based on your well-known malevolence and ignorance. Par for the course for the forum's LL.

which back then also meant volunteering

I figured there's be such a back-out as the insinuation that it "also meant", "could've meant", "might've meant"... Sensitive or controversial cases were routinely assigned to tried and tested loyal PZPR types. If for some reason Kaczyński had been put on a dissident case, he would undoubtedly have refused outright or would have pulled an Italian strike or some other delaying or sabotaging tactic. You wouldn't know this because all you know about PRL is what soft-on-commies people of Michnik's ilk have written.

So yet another of your hare-brained harryisms has been put to rest. Like the govt property at knock-down prices. What about that "hilarious" bio you promised?

lack of stigma concerning illegitimacy

That's a salient point. Part of the mamby-pamby, fat and flabby persmissiveness that has replaced normal child rearing has provided impunity for all manner of misbehaviour. The result is a chaotic world of broken homes and confused, unhappy kids.

3 main reasons

There are four: also incest.

big miscalculation

Indeed, both extreme citizens' prpoposlas (pro-abortion and anti-abortion) shoułd have either been rejected outright or both sent to committee. Even though the govt did not propose the ban, oppositon propagandists manipulated things so it appeared that way. Actually, both PiS ad PO favour the 1993 compromise law, so it will probably prevail.

likely to see much more impressive

From a purely Realpolitik point of view, the pro-abortion march was a brainstorm at a time when the TK malarkey had become quite stale and déjà vu. The quesiton is: what new cause or angle will the PiS-bashers think up to stay in the limelight and justify their raison d'être. It's a bit like new cars or smartphones -- a new model, colour scheme, feature or gadget is needed because people quickly tire of the existing one.

The abortion march will be pretty hard to match.
