German energy projects are decided in Germany. Poland has nothing to say in that. Gas via Norsstream I and II is 30% cheaper than LNG. Your LNG terminals can never compete with NS I and II for exactly that reason.

LNG needs to be liquified, which meeds much energy. Shipped over the ocean, the needs constant cooling to stay liquified. It will always be more expensive.

NS I and II takes weak transitcountries like ukraine and poland the ability to threaten our energy supply.

We dont trust poland to control our energy. Its that easy. And we dont want pay transitfees

Why should we beg? Typhoon makes mach 1.9 and has twin engines. Works perfect till.our 6th gen jet is ready.

Poland has a smaller economy than Baden - Württemberg. Its weaker than a single german state.

German influence is great enough that it gets offered that garbage jet 45 million cheaper per unit plus tech exchange.

That said its boot licking of USA is indeed going over the top and angers Germany as well as France. I dont think an American 5th column will work well for much longer.

Maybe if Poland gets too annoying, it might get a new smolensk moment? Who knows

So Germany seeks roughly 80 fighter jets. USA offers F-35 for 80 million a piece. Offers technological exchange and construction in Germany.

Poland on other aide has to pay 125 million for each jet....45 million more. Doesnt get any tech exchange and no construction.

Poland is treated like that fat kid at school that desperatly wants to be accepted.

Nope, USA even offered Germany to be part of the production and tech exchange. Even then Germany declined.

Thats the thing. USA wamted to sell us this crap aircraft for lower price plus participate us in the project.

Poland gets the junk for higher price and without participation. Thats the difference about the 2nd largest western economy and a weak post communist small eastern european country.

One thing, i dont care about Holocaust, neither does any of my friends and class mates. We dont care if it was one or 6 million. On school yard we told us jokes about it.

Im not pagan. Im atheist and things are complex.

My great grandmother was catholic but she lost faith in church after war. My great grandfather was not religious much, rest of family was in church but losely.

My grandparents were raised atheist and not christend. My parents both were raised atheist as well.

In eastern germany almost all were raised atheist, i was born aftre reunion and nobody in my school was christend.

That doesnt mean we dont follow custums.

We celebrate christmas, eastern but not religious, we dont go church. We place a christmas tree, exchange gifts ect but not because some god. Its celebrated as family festival.

German society and civilisation was never founded on christianity. It was pushed on us.

Religion here is dead. I was in church one time and had to laugh about what the priest said. It is laughable for me.

We want an aircraft that can quickly reach any point of our airspace. Its supposed to be an interceptor and the F 35 simply is too slow for that.

Other factor is, that Germany and USA are not really allied anymore. No german leader would give Trump the biggest defense deal in the world, which the purchase of 85 F 35 would be.

As for the radar, it waw a first test.

F-35 can only reach 1.6 and just for 40 seconds befor its vertical stabilizer is in danger to structural failure.

Lockheed Martin offered a killer price of 80 million per unit and also offered technology transfer and construction in Germany, even then that did not make up for the aircrafts lack in speed and that it doesnt meet our criteria and demands.

Later in negotiations you could see that they mocked Lockheed Martin and published their info and data in german magazines, making fun about its helmet ect, which costs as much as 30 VW golf and doesnt work properly. The entire aircraft was shown like a joke in our media.

They call it "Trump jet" and say it has 870 mistakes and its cannon cant shot straight.

The big finale was when Germany said we might have interest and two F.35 came to Berlin just to be used as traget practice for our new radar.

So i guess its a mix of things. The aircraft on oen side cant fullfill what we want and on other side there are political games behind.
