could people elaborate a little on the person they are writing about, the whole idea of the thread was so I could learn about little bit about women who helped to shape Poland or contributed to it's history.

I'd prefer it if people wrote something rather than adding links, it's creates a more interesting thread.

But thanks for starting the ball rolling.

I know little about Polish history or the history of "Great" women in Poland, it would be interesting to learn more.

Love / Polish Women Versus Your Local Women ? [289]

I think this thread is unfair, to pit women against women - I would like ADMIN to remove it, it is degrading towards women!!!!

Do any of the other female forum members think so?

ok...ok...you're off the hook.....too soft by half me!

I takes a real man to apologise Mrs E, so this time he is forgiven.

jbman

May I ask a question? I'll assume your answer is yes, so i shall proceed.

Why do you think British women behave the way they do? Do you think that British men are perfect? You mention about our problem with teenage pregnancies - do you think it's imaculate conception or could it be that some grubby little 15 year old boy is playing his part too, but lucky for him he can scarper after the happy event has been announced?

Do you think that only British women drink copious amounts of a weekend? If so why were the marjority of arrests in holiday resorts British men who were too drunk to behave themselves? When I say behave I mean not only stupid druken behaviour, but also violence and sexual assults.

silobreaker.com/DocumentReader.aspx?Item=5_890272784

Do you think British women changed to cope with how British men behave? Or are British men still the same and British women have moved on?

I wouldn't dream of slaggin of British men because I know men come in all shapes and sizes, some good and some not so good.

Lets not forget the briefcase and a copy of Stage...that way he has all bases covered :)

x-- only 1 point was frm me on that list

Yeah, whatever...you obviously don't know a great deal about surregacy because it's not a simple case of some bloke popping to a ivf clinic and depositing some sperm and it's also derogatory to refer to your birth mother a "host" And by the way, gay men don't spend their lives slagging off women!

Actually you wrote:

for real, u also forgot abt their drinking and smoking habits..

Which means you agreed with all of what was written.

Can you explain why you feel the need to slag off British women? Is your mum English? Do you have any sisters?

Life / IS CHEATING ON EXAMS OK? (younger Poles don't think so) [30]

I did a friend who works for an agencies a favour a couple of months back and did some invidulating on some exams - exam situations in the UK are pretty strict and any sign of cheating would mean that the kid is removed from the exam.

Liars and cheats are just pathetic!

Life / Why there is always around a horrible smell of sweat in Poland [188]

Yep. I liked it, actually... in a weird kinda way. It was kind of a nice body oder. I found it kinda sexy.

pheromones are what attract us to the opposite sex...what one persons finds sexy another finds just plain stinky ;-)

Life / Why there is always around a horrible smell of sweat in Poland [188]

I remember my grand mother used to say "we were poor but we could always aford soap and water" (she had issues with smelly people, povery is not an excuse) - she bathed every day until the day she died - I really could not imagine going home and not having a bath - it's so nice to take the days grime off your body (I only work in an office btw not a coal mine) and to slip into clean clothes and relax - similarly to wake in the morning and wash and dress to freshen yourself for the day ahead...So is a cultural thing or is it down to personal choice?

Europeans are known for not bathing and shaving legs and arm pits.

Lol...

There are definitely some spices that eaten regularly result in body odor

And that was the point I was making. Thank you for agreeing because certain foods, such as onions, garlic, exotic spices cause us to smell. We are what we eat, we sweat out through out glands which we take in to our body.

I think the smelll people secrete has a lot to do with the food we consume, it stands to reason that people that eat spicy food will have an odour different to those that don't eat spicy food, hence the reason people from certain eithnic backgrounds will smell somewhat differently to those of other ethnic backgrounds.

I still maintain that if you wash your clothes, wear clean clothes and have a bath, there is no need to smell like a hards days work - btw ya cheeky little Manc I'm one of those suit wearing public transport using people, however I don't stink ;-)

Rain man :)

I'm forever washing my hands.

Just like one of our road trips in PL. The kiddies puked in the car, and it was BAD. The better half bought some Pine Scented Air Freshener, and it smelled like someone puked in the Bavarian Forest.

LOL...sorry but as much as it must have been disgusting for you, that did make me larf :)

I think it's down to how much you wash and change your clothes.

People spraying on deoderant over stale sweat and dirty clothes is just going to make matters worse....

What gets me are the people who are blissfully unware that they stink.

Lucky them!

You definitely do not like dark skinned guys and you are BIG time into polish blokes ;-)

Like most people I'm not keen on smelly people, the smellies I encounter just happen to be dark skinned, I didn't actually say anything about Polish men ;-)

You get stinkers all over the world, you should really catch my bus on the way home, then you'd know what a bad smell was!

In all honesty I have been to Poland 3 times and never noticed people smelling badly, I visited in the height of summer and still nothing - in fact I would say even the beggars of Poland smell like beautiful roses in comparison to the Africans and Asians that are on my bus of an evening!!!!!!!!!!!

Australia / HELP! Australian wanted to apply for Polish Passport via ancestory [51]

everyman and his dog now wants a EU passport it allows you to work in every EU country.

Not true and it's not an EU passport, each country has there own passport some European countries are members of the EU some are not. Only those who are members of the EU are allowed to work within the EU, some members of the EU have restrictions on how even members of the EU can work there.

In the UK there are restrictions on Bulgarians and Romanians..
