I really like what the EU can become but today its totally useless at anything other than a trading body. Its economic policy and fiscal rules are all from the right, the trade off is that there are some mild regulations on working conditions. Unfortunately one doesnt go anywhere near enough to balance the other. But on balance I would stay in the EU.

I've said it before here but Europe needs to develop and expand its defence industries and stop subsidising foreign manufacturers. We have the industrial base and technological ability. Without Europe, specifically the Netherlands, Taiwan or any one else couldnt manufacture the highest spec chips until China catches up. Why is Poland not buying European instead of the American and Korean stuff? Is it historical or political?

Trump basically confirmed what everyone knows ie the Israelis attacked Iran with America's blessing. There is no way they would have done so without America's blessing. Trump has just proved that he could stop the genocide or at the very least end starvation tactics but choses not to. Not surprising given that Israel allows America to pretend to be one place removed from genocide and war crimes (not that they care about such things). The EU is even more pathetic in its resp[onse to the whole mess spitting out weasel words and Starmer in the UK thought that starvation was a legitimate tactic.

He also said that where there are Russian boots that is Russia. If America invades which is more likely now, Russian intelligence will play a major part for Iran just as it did during American sponsored and failed coup in Turkey. The chances of American invasion were small as their second option is fighting their wars in other peoples countries. Their first option is always to find mercenaries to do their fighting.

Trump says these precision weapons completely destroyed their targets and it's not about regime change. Two questions, why didn't they use precision strikes in Palestine and why continue illegality attacking Iran if the made up threat has been removed? No big surprise, that's what America does with no plan to what comes next.

I suppose it's easier to starve civilians corralling them and then shooting at them with tanks.

I dont know how anti ship missiles work but the ability to launch them from Yemen as well as the coast of Iran may give some sort of additional reach. An aircraft carrier makes a big target and they only have to be lucky once. The Americans would not be happy bunnies if one or two were sunk and they would have to put boots on the ground for twenty years or so.

Islam like its brother religion Christianity has moral rules devotees should follow that would impact on economic policy.

Christian countries ditched the restrictions long ago but Islam tends to stick to scripture. Its only the dictatorial slave states of the gulf who are now beginning to follow their Christian brothers in ignoring scripture when it comes to economic matters.
