90% of Poles would gladly do what I did

Nie mierz innych swoją miarą, Rysiu-pysiu.

Life is short. I have a right to spend the best way I can.

Sure.

But you have no right to insult my country and my people. If you keep doing that, we will have a problem.

Mermaid on a beach: 1964

This enchanting Syrena (Mermaid) 103 was a 100% Polish construction (no licence bought in the "rotten West" aided the design and production of this car). Over 500,000 Syrenas in various versions (sedan, cabrio, truck, mini-van) were manufactured in years 1957-1983.

Guarding the border: 1985

Two border guards at work. Notice that the eagle on the border post and the eagles on the guards' caps are crownless. This is because those were peasant-worker eagles unlike today's bourgeois-monarchist eagles sporting golden crowns. ;)

No probs.

Also, the commander of the entire Russian fortress, General Brzozowski, was of Polish ancestry.

You got to be kidding me...

Watch the video to the end Grunni, and check out the "When cockroaches hunted panzers" video I posted in the 1939 thread - there is a link between the two. :)

Urbs celeberrima: 2023

Let's get back to the present day and to "mainland Poland" with this photo of our good, old Cracow. One cannot deny the importance of this city to Polish soul. Before WW2 there were four main cities that defined Polish identity: Warsaw, Lwów, Wilno and Cracow (of course, there were others like Toruń or Poznań but the four I mentioned were the mainstays of Polishness). After the war Lwów and Wilno were taken away by the Soviet Union and Warsaw lay in ruins. Only Cracow was left and until this very day this city remains dear to every Polish heart.

We remain in the Regained Lands with this interesting view of Szczecin, as seen from the Odra River. In the background we can see gothic St. James's church.

A word of explanation, before someone gets a wrong idea:

Why do I consider transsexual people to be OK, as opposed to trans Americans (like Ryszard), trans Brits, trans French etc. who are an ungodly aberration? For a very simple reason: if one is a transsexual person, one rejects only his gender - a single factor in his identity, which might be caused by some medical condition or inborn fault or some sort of psychological changes, I'm not a speacialist but I am tolerant and have nothing against such people.

Being a transnational/transcultural person, like Ryszard, is much worse because you abandon everything that you are - your origins, history, culture, language, and it is not caused by any developmental defect but by your conscious choice. Disgusting*. Transnationals (like Ryszard) who hate their country of origin and pretend not to have anything to do with it are precisely what's wrong with the West today - SELF-HATE. It is even worse when such people openly express their hate and spout hateful nonsense on internet boards (like Ryszard does here).

Polish-Americans, who had to emigrate for many reasons but still keep their traditions, use their language and feel certain bond with their country of origin, are lovely people. The same goes for British or French people of Polish origin. But self-hating transnational arseholes like Ryszard Mazur (can you imagine a more Polish name?) really annoy me. They destroy the old values, everything that a conservative person holds dear - I cannot condone such neo-marxist, self-hating nonsense.

* - even more disgusting when it happens in the first generation. Children or grandchildren of transnational people will obviously develop a strong bond with the country they are born in - it's the country of their birth after all. For first generation self-hating transnationals there is no excuse.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1400]

I know that you regard me as a non Pole

What do YOU regard yourself as?

You defended this ircorrigible Pole-hater, Ryszard, in another thread. I never considered you to be a Pole hater but now I'm not sure. So, who are you?

I was to Lwów once as a kid and was enchanted with the city - Ukrainians are taking very good care of it, just like Lithuanians are taking great care of Wilno, and I'm sure - although I've never been there - Belarussians love their Grodno and Brześć. But the amount of suffering, destroyed lives and broken hearts involved in the changes was immense. Let's hope no "genius" on either side of any border ever tries to repeat the history again.

Not at all.

Here's a 1938 photo of the department store...

Funny thing, Wrocław was settled with people from Lwów and other eastern cities which the Soviet Union took from us. So, after the war, if you heard somebody with the melodic eastern accent, you could pretty much assume that he/she was from Wrocław - one of the westernmost cities in Poland. European history, eh? :)

LOL

The coffin-dodging, trans arsehole is at it again. No point arguing or discussing with haters, like LGBT-Ryszard here, but one can torment them every now and again (as they deserve!).

That's a rather long post #74. Couldn't be arsed reading it - probably some nonsense as usual from the rainbow granpa.

No longer a Festung: 1953

... a staggering 68% of Breslau's buildings were destroyed in WW2. This amazing city of three nations (the longest under the Czech rule, then - for about 400 years - under the Polish crown, and for the shortest, but very important for the development of the city, time a German possession) was rebuilt with an enormous effort and sacrifice of the decimated and impoverished Poland - even more difficult because the completely razed Warsaw had priority in all the reconstruction plans. In the photo we can see a digger clearing the rubble in Plac Kościuszki (former Tauentzienplatz) - still 8 years after the war (!).

Very well, coffin-dodger, if that's how you want to play.

Just remember that I gave you a fair warning. I didn't want this war. I am not the aggressor.

I hate people who tell me who and what I am and how I feel.

I hear this sentence over and over again from trans people.

Then you were not paying attention...

Oh, I was paying attention. Not only in this but also in many other threads where you wrote directly that you hate Poles and how stupid "Polaks" are (despite the fact that you are one too, albeit a trans).

As for the rest of the post above: occasional vandalism or inadequate sanitary facilities are no reason to insult a country or its people.

I gave you a fair warning. You have a choice now. Choose wisely.

I hate people who tell me who and what I am and how I feel. Now you are on that list with that "Ryszard".

You just told me your weak spot, Ryszard. A schoolboy mistake.

As far as Poles being stupid, look no further than the war thread. Start with cms and pawian.

You are drawing too far-reaching conclusions based on an insufficiently large sample. I would expect more from a man with an engineering degree and valuable patents to his name. If you have a beef with a certain poster, deal with that poster personally. Stop insulting Poland and Poles in general, or I shall be very annoying to you (believe me - I'm good at it if I want to).

You have transitioned by posting in English.

Nope. Nice try but nope.

I use English whenever I want and however I want, like one would use a prostitute if one was inclined to do so. Meanwhile, I remain 100% Polish through and through. :)

Anyways, I don't usually engage in elder abuse but I am truly sick and tired of reading how much you hate Poles, how stupid Polaks are, and all the other anti-Polish sh*t from you. So tell ya what, Ryszard, every time you insult Poles or Poland I will remind you that you belong to LGBT community (where 'T' stands for trans).

There is nothing disgusting in escaping from a prison

Of course not. But escaping a prison and then becoming a trans can be considered very disgusting. You are born what you are born. That's it. End of.

If someone has a transition like you had, Rysiek, don't be surprised if it disgusts some people (especially conservatives).

it's immoral and disgusting.

Even more disgusting for some people is being trans. You are born one thing, then you decide to have a transition and you think you become something else than what you were born.

For example: someone is born a Pole but decides to have a transition and considers himself a fully transitioned American.

Disgusting.

До свидания, друзья: 1993

Over 30 years ago the last echelon of Soviet troops left Poland. In this historic photo we can see the boys of 6th Vitebsk-Novgorod Guards Division waving us goodbye as their train rolls towards Tver, where their new headquarters were to be located. The withdrawal was peaceful and agreed upon already in 1989 when the first non-communist government took power in Poland.
