Many Americans died fighting Germans. (BTW, did you notice that I didn't say Nazis?) Yet, the US did its very best to unite the country, instead of partitioning it forever into small and harmless parts. So it is possible for a country like Germany, the only country whose leaders were tried and executed, to eventually be one and united.

By the same logic, there was no compelling reason for the USSR to want to break itself up to become so much less.

Gorbachev turned out to be West's agent and a bit*ch. Just because he looks great to you does not mean that he was not a traitor to his country or at least an incompetent fool - a Biden prototype.

My point includes these treaties.

As a pro-bono lawyer for Germany, my position is that if Poland wants to file a grievance and demand more money, the case should include EVERYTHING Germany gave or lost to Poland. Any settlement must or else it would lead to illogical nonsense that, for example, any money given to Poland voluntarily or by force would not count.

It very much resembles reparations for slavery in the US. In our case, the trillions whites spent on black bastards and other black welfare doesn't count.

That land that was transferred from Germany to Poland has a market value far exceeding the value of any negotiated settlement.

There was no "cold war". It's a meaningless phrase. There was arms race and the Soviets lost.
This, however, did not have to lead to the break up of the USSR. Letting Eastern European countries become independent is another matter and has nothing to do with the breakup.

Just because the UK lost its colonies is no reason for the UK to be cut up into smaller pieces.

I hope that Germany is no longer playing the reparations games. If you decide to be stupid, deduct what you gave to and invested in Poland - to start with.
