gross pay will be around 15K PLN (the calculation of the tax is not straightforward in Poland and if I tried to sum it up in one sentence it would be a very long sentence)

- there is a mosque in Gdańsk - according to the search there are a couple of shops in Gdańsk that provide Indian products (I'm not from Gdańsk) - there are also a couple of Indian (or Indian themed) restaurants there

- appartment rent (for a smallish place) is around 2000 PLN a month (excluding the bills) - rent for studio flats is not much lower than that of 2 room appartments (two room apparments means a flat with a kitchen (or a kitchenspace),a bathroom and two other rooms)

-Gdańsk has pretty good (and pretty cheap) public transportation - I can't give you approximate sums for your daily expenses (think groceries) (my guess would be singificantly less than 1000 PLN per month assuming you don't eat out often)

anyway gross 24K PLN per month is a very good salary - you would be able to save quite a lot if you are single and not spendthrifty

my understanding is (as I have already stated in one of my posts here) that she was reporting what doctors told her (I doubt she realised what the law said about it and what the implications were) - obviously acording to the law doctors could do something - in one of her texts she said - "..I can expect sepsa any moment" - don't you think the doctors didn't realise the risk? - by the time she sent that message she had a 40 degrees fever and trembled and received medication for it (only after a fellow patient called the doctors and showed them the thermometer - a nurse said she must have caught cold: can you believe that) - so yeah doctors either realised the dangers (a dying fetus in a womb IS ALWAYS a threat to the mother) and they ignored it and/or they seriously neglected the patient

hmm I actually watched this footage on TVPInfo (my mom often watches TVPInfo) - the comment that accompanied the footage was that it was a film scene but that similar things happen in real life in Sweden - it is not impossible that the comment was added afterwards/altered and that it originally was shown as a 'real' evidence of pervasive crime in Sweden- I don't sit glued to the TV so I have no way of telling - also I have no firsthand experience of Sweden so I can't judge the comment to the footage that I heard (about pervasive crime by immigrants in Sweden)

in the article from interia a woman from the same Federacja Na Rzecz Kobiet i Planowania Rodziny says she is not aware of any doctors being charged for performing abortions they intervened in

the article from wp.pl you linked states in 2019 there were 757 investigations about suspected violations of the abortion laws and 37 convictions (if I understood correctly) - there is no mention in how many cases charges were pressed against doctors - that means there were plenty of investigations and 39 (if you believe court verdicts are to be trusted in Poland) illegal abortions - to me it looks like there was abortion underground going on


the exact wording is: "Udawało się po naszych interwencjach, ale nie tak powinno być" - so I conclude that it was not a rare occurence that the pressure was successful

it is a valid question - I mean: I doubt they did - however facts indicate their fears of the law are not rational - it definitely is not that black and white as I have tried to make it look, I admit - also just read the article I posted - there are a couple of different and opposing views in it (although some of them are not entirely sincere in my opinion)

Again, I am not in favour of the new ruling for the most part (although the case of children aborted because of showing signs of the Down syndrome raises questions)

my personal theory is that (at least a percentage of) doctors actively sabotage current abortion laws (the article seems to prove it) for idealogical reasons - most doctors are in favour of abortions on demand as far as I know
