Language / Polish Swear Words [1242]

It's also what makes swearing more tolerable. Past certain point, it actually gets to be funny. It's all in the tone of voice.

When my kids were about ten-ish, they would hear every imaginable swear word by being in the same room with their parents. No problem. Once, in a perfect parent's calm voice, I told one of them: Young lady, you disappointed me. She couldn't stop crying. She probably would have liked what the fu** is wrong with you? a lot more.

Sometimes, over-the-top is more tolerable.

Swearing is a skill. When used correctly, it livens up a conversation, can be used to vent - which is always good - and is more efficient in conveying less complex emotions.

Among real friends, it's an expression of affection. But it still boils down to when and how.

Can somebody here explain the proper use of kurwa?
Every time I am next to two Polish guys talking, all I hear is kurwa this and kurwa that. Is this done to impress or as a filler? Or masculinity signalling?

There is something to kurwa that makes it acoustically distinct. Typically, I have no idea what they are talking about, but that kurwa is impossible to miss. It must be that famous Polish rolling r.

News / Poland and USA vs Iran and the EU [38]

For future use, my position is: if it's good for the US, then, I am for it. Beyond that, I don't give a rat's ass. Poland included.

If the US needs Saudis and they deliver, Saudis are the good guys and the Saudi critics can go to hell.
I can't make it any clearer.

Funny you are repeating such arguments.

Sorry that I didn't make it more obvious. Those were not my arguments. I was just mocking the arguments coming from the indignant and the offended civil rights activists, on one hand, and how quickly the WE greed turns a blind eye to those lofty arguments when money is on the table, on the other.

It was pure sarcasm on my part. I should do less of it, I guess.

News / Poland and USA vs Iran and the EU [38]

PiS government has decided to go with the USA

PiS is right.
Playing neutrality games with a country - that would be the US - Poland expects to go to blows with Russia over Poland would be a really stupid idea. Iran is nothing to Poland, good or bad. This is not the time to overthink (przefajnic?) things. Political sophistry gets you only so far.

Trump is the self proclaimed best deal maker in the world but this is an other example of how rubbish he is.

Memo to Trump:
Next time, call me and I will tell you how not to f*** up the way you did with that last deal with South Korea. My 12-year-old granddaughter is smarter than that.

The authoritarian regime in Tehran represses the freedom of speech and assembly, persecutes religious minorities, brutalizes women

....but we can make a couple of bucks, so what's the problem, said the Euros.

Life / Showing respect and appreciation by Polish people, forms of greetings in Poland. [31]

did you get on with him? were you friends?

I am glad you asked. Never. It was like walking a minefield. It was a torture to go through the evening and not being allowed (by that idiotic tradition) to call somebody by his first name. In Polish, I couldn't even ask gdzie ty byles (where were you). That is why I went full Anglo ASAP and never looked back.

[moved from]

I have been all over about how the Poles overdose on and overdo that fake respect (szacunek) where none is needed. I am now back to this, but only because of what I did this morning.

Did morning, I took my two granddaughters and their dad to the airport. The weather is still perfect and the road even more so. So we talk. Just a bs stuff between two guys fate brought together and who actually like each other - at least me.

And like equals, which makes me always feel younger without that Polish bs like calling me father, dad, tatusiu, or any other and equally annoying equivalents. Just Rich and Michael.

In Poland? Forget it. Until he, my Polish FIL, was on his deathbed, he never once said to me: Rich, call me Marian. Which is what I said to Michael the day I met him and a year before he married my daughter. USA - 1, Poland - 0.

History / Poland - problem for Germany? (historically continual hostility of German state on Poland) [154]

I will be here to share the joy.
One of the weirdest moment at this forum was when I told your weasel Germans that I, being Polish by birth, am a better German patriot than they are with all that apologetic crap about immigrants, refugees and s*** like that.

I assume you meant Nazis. B and N are close, but not the same.

History / Why are Poles/Poland disliked by Germans? [140]

Poles who first extended a hand of friendship to Germans.

A victim forgiving the criminal is normal and noble. Asking if the criminal likes his victim is sick. The criminal can only do one thing: ask for forgiveness.

History / Why do Polish people hate to be called Eastern European? [120]

Why proverbial? Anything wrong without proverbial and without the quotes? Like: seeking white refuge just as blacks demand all-black safe spaces at the American indoctrination camps.

News / Poland in the European Union. Polexit? [559]

And, ultimately, suicidal. We have the same idiocy going on here in the US. The Ponzi scam, aka Social Security, needs the fertilizer. Hence, open borders.

The illegals forge their SS cards, pay SS taxes from dollar one, the feds look the other way, AARP is happy, and old geezers get their checks while the US is morphing into a Latino s***hole. What a plan!

History / Why do Polish people hate to be called Eastern European? [120]

they wish to be associated with Poland as a Westernized democracy.

They soon will wish they never were. Associating with a decomposing body is going to make you smell bad sooner or later.
But, while the welfare checks are coming, why not.

History / Why do Polish people hate to be called Eastern European? [120]

Poles should be ecstatic to be known as Eastern Europeans. Western European, just like liberal, is now an insult and stands for everything men should not be.

Who would you rather have to defend your town from barbarians, the French or the Americans? How about Swedes?

Midway through the breakfast I realized that my post above is very offensive. Hence, I want to apologize to the hooligans, skinheads and the neo-nazis. You, guys, don't deserve to be lumped with the gutless, all-is-fine, o la la, "pencil necks".

After all that you come up with the ridiculous conclusion that Germans don't like Poland/poles

As I posted before, it's like asking a rapist if he likes the victim. Somebody here is sick.

but "may be disliked" would be better.

How about a summary why the Poles "may be disliked" by the Germans. Six points would do for me.

I agree with Lyzko 100%. So that's a draw then.

No.
He and I have facts to back up what we claim. You don't. Only feeelings and virtue signals.
I never lost an argument with a lib. Do you know how I know that I won?
I win when a lib just disappears when I ask a legit question on the subject that lib raised. Not my subject. His subject. Go it?

Or deflects. Same s***.
