Real Estate / House prices in Poland to drop more or rise again? [228]

Maybe yourself and JAK know something I don't but why is it you both pointed the finger at Irish developers/inverters, corporate or otherwise?, being involved in any suspicious or anything but fair and honest dealings?

I have heard no scandals and I keep my ear to the ground.

I suppose many Irish speculators have unwittingly made an involuntary one way contribution to the Polish economy. To look at the bravado and swaggering in the posts from a year ago.. my word.

Give quotes or examples of this bravado and swaggering.
You sound bitter.

There was plenty of smugness a year ago

Again give some evidence.

I say if you can give it out then you can take it as well.

What are you talking about?, do i care.

where next for Irish speculative voyaging - China? In that case we can look forward to a boom and bust scenario there as well.

Wow, you really are a bitter little person.

There was another poster who claimed equally that the "Irish" were the worst but he has not posted since.
I wonder if there is a connection with our new guest?.

Either way it ought to be interesting to see what he drags up from the depths of the PF archive.

Ah, I don't really care,
some Irish people invested in Poland,
not many in comparison to Bulgaria or other new E.U. countries.
Some people like to be smug and take joy in other people's loss,
which is not a good way to live in my opinion.

Life / Polish Organizational Skills [83]

That's different from my experience

I know some very large Dutch/Canadian companies that are pretty efficient and other Scandinavian companies that every single thing has to go back to Scandinavia so that "the members of council" can discuss them, it is a long and frustrating proceedure.

and i was kinda hoping you would all tell me I was wrong and I had just had some unfortunate encounters.

I would not say you were wrong but I would say you have had some unfortunate encounters.

-----------------------------------------------------

I edited my original post as I am sick of hearing myself complain about 'that' country.

----------------------------------------------------

always exceptions and I certainly exclude government agencies from that.

Here in Poland the government agencies remind me of :-

The knights who say "Nie".

I am surprised that they are able to plan far enough ahead to get to a toilet before they wet themselves.

That's pretty much what I feared.

Perhaps it is a loaded question and therefore you are getting the response you elicited?.

It seems while you have posted your data, the thread was moved or closed and your data cannot be posted. Sorry!

Message:

I also forgot to mention that if anyone can recommend books that would help out it would be great.

In English only?, just to clarify.

Have you googled it?.
There are lots of legends here in Poland, I am not qualified to tell them but I may be of service to give you key words to google.

The dragon in Wawel.
The sleeping knight in Zakopane.
The two brothers who built the cathedral in Rynek glowny Krakow.
The Mongol who shot the trumpeter with an arrow, while he was warning the town.

I don't know any books but I hope these help you.

legless lizard

padalec

Wow,

Silly question No. 40193029.
What's the difference between a lizard and a snake then?

I thought it was the legs.

-The tail falls off a lizard and grows back?.

- The scales don't over lap?.

Ah ha,
From the Wiki link you posted McCoy
(Good to have you back)

The most important is they have small eyes with eyelids that blink like lizards. This is a feature that is not found in snakes. They also have visible ears like lizards do, which snakes do not have. They also have a notched tongue rather than the forked tongue of a snake. They shed their skin in patches like other lizards, rather than the whole skin as most snakes do. Also, the pattern of their ventral scales is totally different from that of snakes.

Polish lizard

Nice photo Wildrover :)

I thought this was interesting (Jurasic park style:)

I know this sounds silly but i was talking to some friends and they were talking about a lizard with no legs or feet but it was not a snake. It did not make sence to me, perhaps I misunderstood?.

They also told me of a cow that was not giving milk. An done day in the farm a guy smashed a lizard with a rock (I don't know why) and all this milk came out, they figured the lizard had been taking the milk from the cow?. Strange.

Lizard is Jaszczurka in Polish

Basically instead of forearms/forepaws they have wings.

I watched a program on telly over the Christmas called "evolve" on some History channel. Apparently bats evolved completely separate from birds, that they started off only launching and gliding but ended up going the extra step, Fascinating stuff.

They are not blind but do not see very well but they have sonar, how cool a super power is that!.
I saw one the about 2 months ago on my balcony, weird looking things like strange mice with big ears and leather looking wings.

I wonder why they sleep upside down? Something about blood going to their heads? or maybe it is for more practical protective purposes?.

polandpoland.com/nietoperek_bats.html - Nietoperek bat and nature reserve, Poland (Link)

During winter months large numbers of some of the rarest bat species converge in the passages of the WWII Miedzyrzecki underground bunker.

Aren't they the only mamal that can fly? others glide but bats fly?.

I used to catch newts as a kid in Ireland, just for fun, we'd let them go unharmed after because there were not many around. The toothless guys used to pretend they could bite you. ha ha ha
