Wychowanie do życia w rodzinie (Upbringing for family life) which deals with these issues

What do they say about sex besides "don't do it till you're married!"?

Do they actually discuss sexual problems a young couple might face like premature ejaculation or inability to climax during intercourse due to excessive masturbation or vaginal dryness?

Do they enlighten young men on female anatomy (like the importance of the clitoris)?
Do they discuss genital hygene?
Do they discuss the importance of foreplay and alternates to intercourse when one of the two is hors de combat?
Do they discuss methods of family planning beyond the rhythm method (which is notoriously unreliable)?

parents, school, church and authorities all working together to achieve their goal.

this could only work if everyone has the same religion and has strong religious beliefs. there are other ways of going about reducing teen pregnancy than trying to turn everyone into an oaza (if that word is still used).

promoting a President from Kashubia and a PM from Kraków

Okay, I get why you don't like Kaszub (german cooties) but what's wrong with Kraków? For someone who claims to be a patriot there's an awful lot of your supposed countrymen that you dislike....

What up with that sh1tt?

Hopefully also intimacies limited to wedlock with less overall fornication and adultery

Yes, yes, you hate the idea of anyone actually enjoying sex, we get it.

On a more serious note, the biggest consequence is likely to be the birth rate. Poland has been experiencing a modest increase in live births over the last couple of years, but I would expect that to come to a crashing halt if the most severe restrictions come into force.

The current debate is making it completely clear to women that a large part of society regards them as walking baby factories who might as well die if they can't pop them out correctly. The effects of making pregnancy more dangerous are that fewer women will want to go down that road.

the RCC condemned his dismissal.

I would expect nothing less of them. they clearly want a severely deformed baby to suffer for a few days and its mother to be traumatized so they can rush in to help with their fake concern. Hypocrites.

Language / Differences in Polish and English idioms [69]

f someone said colourful dreams I would know instantly they're not native speakers.

True enough. Except that there was an idea floating around a few years ago that "native speaker" is a myth invented to reinforce unequal social relations.

The only term in the English language to suggest anything about the content of a dream is "sweet dreams "

Well it does have a great song behind it.

youtube.com/watch?v=imafHIq2210

I've never heard anyone ever wish anyone colourful dreams.

Certainly not in English, though alongside "sweet dreams" there's "pleasant dreams" too, maybe also more American than British?

I would say something like; Night, don't let the bedbugs bite

Sleep tight! Don't let the bedbugs bite! is the version I'm familiar with.

Another Polish expression with no clear English equivalent is "smacznie spać" often translated as "sleep soundly" but often used in very different contexts.

Wishing "colorful dreams" makes sense

Does it? I don't know if I would wish this on anyone...

"Cat"

Well Harry's use of the word "cat" is meant to suggest that Duda is simply the president's pet (and has no more real power than does Jarosław's pussy (cat)). Nothing that's happened in politics since he's been elected contradicts that.

nice to see that cat Polonius loosening up and getting with the last slang.... groovy!

Nowczesna's Neo-Nazis

Do you have any evidence for this outrageous claim? (answer: of course not)

How can you say it is not?

Why are you debating with someone whose sole tactic is repeating "I'm right and you're stupid!"?
Debating a sack of grapefruit would be a more productive use of time.

Of Jew who helped save Poles from the communists?

Jew who did more for Poland than almost any of the people who obsessively comment on his Jewish heritage?

Not to me, you just take it all wrong.

You're not a native speaker, you don't hear things the way they do (just like I don't always hear Polish words and constructions the way native speakers do).

Jewish publisher Szechter

What about Jewish PiS leader Kalkstein?

*Kalkstein/Kalkstejn according to some (probably crazy) people being the real, Jewish, name of the Kaczyńskis....

But he is a Jew, mentioning it is not against the rules.

But doing so in a normal way, not in a way traditionally mostly used by raving anti-semites.

Jew Michnik - sounds a little like Pollack Duda,

Jewish publisher Michnik would be okay.

are you social justice warrior or something?

thought it would be fun to use the word, anyhoo English (and Polish) don't easily make the distinction between "ethnically/genetically" Jewish persons and persons who practice Judaism. Russian does (I forget how but it does) and I think making the distinction in English and Polish would be useful.

where is it breaking the rules?

his name is "Adam" not Jew* and the name of the paper is "Gazeta Wyborcza" supposedly there's a rule against distorting proper names

*use of the word Jew as an adjective highly correlates with anti-semitism, the correct adjective (for non-primitives) is "Jewish" though that's problematic since it primarily refers to a religion (which Adam Michnik does not practice).

snuffing out of a human life

That's exactly what people don't agree upon. A fetus has human dna and is alive (if completely dependent on another) but a fetus's existence is not really "human life" as many or most people understand.

And a blanket ban on abortions will also snuff out some human lives,

thinkprogress.org/11-year-old-chilean-rape-victims-health-is-in-danger-because-she-can-t-get-an-abortion-b101ae85901b#.gxu3qtek7

Fornicate or commit adultery to your heart's content because you can always get yourself a scrape job!

Old guy yells at cloud!

We get it, Polly. You're furious that not everyone is a repressed sexophobe like you. Get over it.

If you're so against abortion, then don't have one! Work (non-abusively) to convince other people to not have them. But don't cram your religion up the birth canals of women who don't share it.

No-one knows what bothers or doesn't bother God

No one knows if there is a God of not... God is not a justification for civil law. Theft and murder are violations in essentially all ethical systems, abortion.... not so much.

Since miscarriages don't seem to bother god, then why would very early term abortions?

And why should a particular, narrow, religious view prevail when the topic is one that there is no general consensus. I'm fine with people trying to convince people to not have abortions, but getting self righteous about forcing particularly religious views into civil law where it affects people who don't follow that particular relgion is a bit much. Very anti-western and anti-civilization.

So you believe God intervenes in everything that happens on earth.

I believe no such thing.

But in your view he created everything, including a reproduction process that results in a 30% failure rate.... (in which a third of all "babies" conceived die, usually before their mothers are aware of their existence). If you can square that with the idea of aborting a 7 weak old fetus being "murder" then your mental gymnastics top anything I can come up with...

Who said God intervenes in every natrural process on earth?

Then God designed a process that kills about 30 % or so of all babies conceived. That's....... love?????

if a given country introduced Jew-killing rights ... the backers would say it is a pro-choice situation

Boy that's an.... interesting example, you sure are obsessed with the idea of killing Jews....

Anyhoo, please give examples of countries making similar laws and we'll talk. Absent that, it's a stupid, irrelevant example.

The question is, at what stage of development do fetuses obtain moral status that those who are born.

For me, that might be around natural viability (the age the fetus can survive outside the mother without massive medical intervention).

If you accept that a fetus acquires full moral status at conception then you have to reconcile yourself with the thought that God loves killing babies since about 30% of all conceptions spontaneously abort (result in miscarriages).

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

Treligion has never said anything about abortion being wrong because it is murder, only that it is wrong in and of itself.

So why are religious people trying to force their specific religious morality on those who don't believe? No one seriously believes that abortion is murder anymore than they believe that spontaneous abortion (about 30 or so % of all fertilized eggs) represent infant deaths.

I'm perfectly fine with letting people decide on this issue based on their own moral judgements. You want to make other people follow your moral judgements.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

The issue is whether there is anything sacred about human life at all

The problem is that there is no consensus on the moral status of a 10 week old fetus. Nor is there likely to ever be. A rational approach is to leave this to individual conscience. But a certain segment of the population wants to force their particular judgements on the rest of society.

Note that many pro-choice people would never have an abortion and I don't know of anyone who wants to force women to abort (Chinese communists, yes, but I don't know any and they're irrelevant to the debate in Poland). The pro-choice side (my part of it) is happy to let the other side follow its conscience. The other side is not happy to let others exercise their own moral judgements.

If you're forcing it on people against their will, it aint' morality.

draconian abortion laws will not make abortion go away

they know that

it will just drive it underground to be a business in the hands of evil filthy old men and women, using dirty tools and dodgy drugs .

they're fine with that, if they can't make women into brood mares, at least they have the satisfaction that they're suffering...

Kaczyński will most likely not become PM as he did during Marcinkiewicz's stint, because the Polish people do not want him in that position. He is at his best as a strategist with a grand overview of the situation, not bogged down by day-to-day dilemmas the way a PM is.

Ah... more and more power and no accountability.... What could possiblye go wrong?

keep giving bizzare examples of pregnancy to convince people that abortion is actually nessary for women well being

Because those "bizarre" examples do happen and sometimes the best thing for the woman's health is abortion. Not admitting weakens the arguments for abortion restrictions overall.

I don't know what solution should be implemented to solve the proble.

Getting rid of the idea that the other side is simply evil and wants to kill babies or is evil and wants women to be nothing more than walking baby-incubators might be a start.

I don't really care about early term abortion (in the first three months or so) at all and no amount of gruesdome pictures is liable to change my mind. I am very against elective abortion after the fifth month or so (natural viability) but I don't think many women actually try to get those either.

In some cases (like rape and/or incest) I think abortion as early as possible is the best choice all around. In all cases I think the ultimate decision should be that of the pregnant woman.

Now, where do we have common ground? If there is none then there's no point in talking (beyond virtue signalling).

What's flippant? The idea that consentual sex is sometimes regretted or that some crazy feminists want to redefine it as rape?

i think you are belittling rape.

cause I think violent rapists and their unborn offspring should be killed?

cause I don't take Matress Girl (look it up) or the Gomeshi accusers seriously? Because I don't agree with the current feminist line (roughly: nothing a woman does or says (including "I consent") can be taken to mean that she consented to have sex?

If you were held down and penetrated

I'd want the SOB dead.

Your third example does not happen half as often as people would like to think

What people don't willingly have sex and then regret it afterward? I thought that was a more or less universal experience (not a problem if it's happened a time or two, a major problem if its a normal occurence).
