Life / If I could introduce something from my country into Poland, I would.... [175]

Ok, the UK is not my country, but I'd import from here:

- Prices of 4x4s (which seem to be heaps lower than these on the continent)
- Doubledeckers (although their upper floors sometimes are hives of asbo-scum and villainy)
- Strangers (an average stranger is much more likely to be friendly or at least not hostile)
- Motorways (not the secondary roads; the one I live at is peppered with potholes like a good ol' Swiss cheese and reminds me of Ye Olde Land when I try to dodge these bloody holes)

The need to chop wood

It's a pure pleasure, man. A son of a forester tells you that.

Genealogy / Polish looks? [1410]

I don't think there are something like 'typical Polish looks' - in fact they may be deceiving. I'm staying in Scotland - and sometimes I'm taken for a Scot or a French :)

In Glasgow it would be 'di.ck', often in connection with 'wee' :)

How about "pizda" and "huj"? I think those are "useful" words, too.

'Cu.nt' and 'Di.ck', respectively.

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

"daß"

Wasn't there some language reform in Germany a while ago ? I thought that 'das scharfe s' was replaced by 'ss".

PS: I wonder why no European stands in the queue to join the famous turkish empire!!! :):):)

Yeah, it's quite the opposite: Turkey wants to join the EU !

You can call your bitch 'Herman' if you like.

I am personally disappointed to learn so many Polish people are keen on this type of thing.

Poles aren't definitely an exception here. Y'know, when I came to the UK I was surprised how people who are supposed to be pals, workmates can slag off and call names each other. Sure I use some swear words, but I don't use them in such an excess as some people here.

Albo rybka, albo pipka - Either something will be successful, or not.

Yeah, but on the other side swear words are part of our everyday spoken language and everybody who's learning Polish (and this is one of the reasons this forum exists) should at least possess their passive knowledge.

So much for guidelines like: "Profanity: Profanity or using derogatory language is not allowed. Please keep your language suitable for all ages."

A - no idea
B - burak - literally 'beetroot', but here = eejit
C - ciul = d!ck
D - debil = stronger for 'eejit'
E - no idea
F - fiut = d!ck
G - gówniarz (m)/gówniara (f) = something like 'sh!thead'
H - no idea (for a swearword)
I - idiota (m)/idiotka (f)
J - jebany (m)/jebana (f) (fuc.ed), jebaka, jebus (both exclusively for m; fuc.head)
K - kutas = d!ck

I'm not going to be some Evil Twisted Master Of Swearwords On This Forum, so I'll just stop here.

Stronger than coffee?

Add some red bull, a 50 of vodka and voila.

I thought it was something more horticultural. I hear this word quite a lot when potting plants, rootballing trees and so on. It's not usually just the one word. There is usually a handful of adjectives to accompany it. Many of them found on this thread.

Someone thinks that you're not 'masculine' enough then, eh ?

Ahhh, it's been another chujowy day... Time to contribute some nasty Polish words to the World community:
Mózgojeb - something that 'fuc.s your brain' usually some substance that makes you feel strange.
Podpiździć - to steal.
-dzira, szmata - not a respectful way to talk about a woman. Just a $lut.

History / POLAND: EASTERN or CENTRAL European country? [1090]

Poland is interested in western money

Just like you. Why else would you leave your home country and move to Britain and not e.g. to Albania or Burkina Faso ?

They have never had any interest in western culture or civilization.

Just because you're a Russian turned Great-Briton it doesn't mean everybody with 'Russian mentality', as you were so generous to put it, follow your path.
