News / How hard will Poland be hit by the economic crisis? [116]

Not in Poland - due to Government rules farmland

Gee, how convenient .......has anyone ever wondered why ?
Control the food - you control the people.......Control the oil - you control the country.

That's cheaper then buying farm equipment to go into farming and a lot less work.
Farm land has always been a very secure investment as they don't make anymore of it and the price always goes up on it.

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

Certain crops leech the soil from certain chemicals.
Like corn sucks up nitrogen like none other so the following year you plant alfalfa and plow it under to raise the nitrogen level again.

You rotate crops for that reason and that was a very basic example why you do it.
Now in dolno situation I think we should fence his place off and raise Angus beef.

as long as people like me are around you will no longer be able to deceive Polish people with your lies, deceptions and false propaganda

More like as long as there are people like me around to correct your hate towards America, in ever one of your Russian trolling posts, with your sensationalism of half truth to deceive people with your hateful propaganda.

It was not "Covid-specific," noting that prisoners have been digging graves on Hart Island for years.
A little Russian propaganda sensationalism lie goes along ways dunnit.
You go through all the news headlines in America and pick out the worst one every day and sensationalize it.
Just like I picked out the headline in your Belgrade newspaper about Belgrade having the most toxic and deadly air in Europe to show you how that game can be played.

Your Russian Troll game is over Vesko.
I did see that Putin sent America a care package though to help us with the virus.
Thanks to Russia.
Poland won't be hit as hard by the economics of this virus because Poland knows how to live on a dime without the bling if they have to.

The Polish have always been a tuff bunch of survivalists.

which are going to suffer the most: tourist industry -

This will make for an excellent time for me to visit Poland then.
Fewer tourist, lots of choices, lower prices with people competing, lower hotel rates, no over crowding on the trains or restaurants, my U.S.D. will go further.

Perfect unless everyone else is thinking like me.

How about the Nazi death camp Sylt located in Britain.
Why is it never mentioned here as a death camp ?

Why wasn't Britain tagged with "British Death Camp" like Poland was tagged with "Polish Death Camp" ?

Dude I've been growing since my balls dropped

So you are admitting to still being a novice then.
Dirk I have friends that have been growing since before you were twinkle in your Daddy's eye who still can't grow a carrot in their back yard.

That makes your high school intimidating statement pure b.s.

having 400 watt metal halides and having some fancy metal halides with some sodium or whatever isn't going to make much of a difference

You are a novice no doubt about it.
Your Sylvania 400 watt that you bought at HomeDepot for $9.99 to be used as a shop light is of no comparison to a 400 watt Hodilux blue metal halide $109 that produces the brightest white sun light there is.

ebay.com/itm/401919854280
(Growers only use 1000 watt bulbs anyways, both metal halide in veg and high pressure sodium in flowering)
See the difference is that the light designed to grow will make your plants bushier with more branches closer together and stack the nodes.
This will produce more buds and three times bigger buds which equals three times more weight per plant.
You claim to be a business man so you know what MOR is. (Money on return)
Now do you understand that spending a few extra bucks on a good bulb to triple your MOR is worth while.
(Three ounces per plant vs. nine ounces per plant)
All that you know about growing weed is what you have googled.
Now lets cut the B.S. and get back on topic which is, 'Pot in Poland for Tourists.'

USA, Canada / Are there any Polish people in Florida? [311]

Chicagoland here ! Moving to Cape Coral

Night and day Fancy.
Chicago has no petty rules and regulations.
Cape Coral has so many city ordinances to keep the rift raft out that you choke.
Get ready for small government to run your life with an abundance of rules and regulations.
Cape Coral is a very nice place for right wing John Birchers children to reside.

remember Foxfarm, it was like $40 a bag, but it had all the nutrients it needed.

It's $17 for the Happy Frog & $19 for the Ocean (both made by Fox Farm) and well worth it as it is organic and has been baked so there is no mold spores or bugs in it.

Plus with the Ocean you only have to use fertilizer in your water every other feeding during the veg stage.
It has the necessary bacteria in it so the roots will absorb the nutrients better especially if you add some Great White.
All you need after that is to add 5ml of Cal-Mag (one time) so your plants don't have a calcium deficiency that cause purple veins in the stalk.

Do they have those Brew and Grow places by you?

There is a huge hydroponic warehouse not far from me that sells EVERYTHING that you may need and I mean everything.
The store is 9000 sq.ft. and is always busy.
bing.com/search?q=the+grow+store+traverse+city&src=IE-TopResult&FORM=IETR02&pc=EUPP_UF03&conversationid=

you're supposed to stop feeding them a few weeks before and only use water.

The last week before you harvest you only use straight water and lots of it to flush them.
This is what a proper grow room needs and looks like if you want to grow the most and best.
thegrowstore.com/climate-control/
This is what my friends tell me anyways.
I sure wouldn't recommend doing it in Poland as that smell of freedom is just to precious.

Exactly, support the local economy and this is why the police should turn a blind eye to some guy trying to feed his family.
Growing weed is a hell of a lot of work if you do it right.
@joker
Have you ever tried Mills fertilizer ?
That is what the majority of commercial growers in Colorado are using, a little pricey but again, well worth it.
My friends swear by it because it is mostly organic and gives your product a smooth flavorful taste.
Most the other fertilizer products are made up of chemicals making your herb taste like dog ****.
When someone sparks up a doobie and it starts to crackle and pop and has a dark ash you know they used chemicals to grow it.

Not good for an older persons lungs.
You want to have a nice white ash from it.
As an old Jamaican Rasta once told me back in the 60's........" Always carry the buzz in your head and not in your pockets."

Ever use FoxFarm soil?

Absolutely, the Ocean Fox Farm is a little hotter then the Happy Frog Fox Farm even though the Happy Frog bags are a little bigger.

If you want buds that weigh over an ounce each use the Ocean.

the trichomes and when they turn from brown to clear, its the height of theTHC level.

Actually the height of the THC is when the head of the trichome has a big clear ball on it that just before it starts turning color. IMO

They make charcoal exhaust system that block 100% of the smell if you want to spend the money.
In the old days the plants that were grown outside with that Afgany seed produced over a kilo per plant.
The plants were like 13 - 14 feet tall.

Spending a few extra on bulbs isn't going to make a huge difference

Obviously you are a novice as you are totally wrong.
In vegetation to start a "Grow" Metal Halide bulb (first six weeks at 18 hours a day) is designed with sunlight spectrums that will not only stack the limbs closer together to make your plants very bushy so you don't have Charlie Browns sparse Christmas trees. FACT.

The brighter the better and the bulbs designed for it's purpose is well worth the extra money.
You are a business man and know what MOR is. (Money On Return)
So you spend an extra $100 on good bulbs and they produce six to eight ounces of one ounce sticky buds per plant compared to two or three skimpy buds with workshop bulbs. (Money well spent)

And don't start your clones to close to the plant or you will burn them up. Those halide bulbs run very hot.
Then in the last six weeks you flip your timers back to (12 hours per day) and use a High Pressure Sodium bulb that is designed to have the sunlight spectrum of the blues and reds that the Halide lights don't have.

These colors are need to make those big heavy buds.
It is a twelve week process from start to finish if you know what you are doing.
So I hear from my friends that have grown under lights for fifty years anyways.
I know I wouldn't begin to take the chance to grow in Poland with such laws.

are all factors that lead to people being arrested.

Remember these very wise words ,"It's not me that is worried about me getting busted, it's my friends with big mouths that worry me about me getting busted."

#1 Rule growing - You don't tell ANYONE nor do you show ANYONE.
People like to brag and show off their crop and that is how they get busted and ripped off.

regular home depot one i think sylvania brand

Seriously ? I hope you don't use Miracle Grow fertilizer too.
jon > grown outside in someone's field
Until the military is out practicing maneuvers at night in September with their infra red imaging.
Ganja has a definite different shade of color then other plants do so they stand out like a brick sht house in a fog using infra red imaging.

The military helicopters have fun G.P.S.ing these plants, give the exact coordinates to the police so they can stake the plants out with surveillance cameras.

Then add the other factors in of thieves, animals and insects eating it, molds and lack o water. (They take lots of water)
And jon, you are correct again, the smell is a huge factor as the devil's weed reek's to high heaven and also about the potency of todays weed versa what we smoke back in college 40/50 years ago that was enjoyable.

Personally I like knowing what day it is without such stress and drama in my life.

Today, just one week later DT is presently at $25.65.

Thanks, that was interesting to read about DT. However, what if the share price remains flat

pawian.......what can I say.......if you would have taken my suggestion and bought 200 shares like I did you would now be $1400 richer in one week.

I agree however, the stock market is not a place for Nervous Nellies like you.

use metal halide during the vegetation cycle

I didn't want to get technical Joker but you are correct.
The HORTILUX Daylight Blue Metal Halide is by far the world's most powerful grow light.
This grow lamp produces plants with extremely tight internodal spacing for nice compact, bushy plants.
They are a little pricey but well worth it.
Then after six weeks of running them for 18 hours switch over to the high pressure sodium to 12 hours to finish them.
The high pressure sodium grow lights provide the warm spectrum (reddish and orangish end of the light spectrum).
This spectrum helps make big sticky buds.
A lot of people use HPS from start to finish because they cost less to buy, cost less to run and don't run as hot as a MH.

Since weed has become legal to use and grow in Michigan people (21 to 81 years old) are becoming a little sketchy in reeking like it when they go out in public.

They use to cover the smell with cologne buy now no one cares.
Making it legal to grow sure knocked the hell out of all the illegal money that was being sent back to Mexico for it.
Now it is a Billion dollar industry creating a huge tax base with all the Billions staying in the U.S. instead of going back to Mexico tax free.

That's what I hear anyway.
Poland should cash do the same thing to make money on it in taxes instead of spending money on it trying to enforce a frivolous law that nobody abides by.

A long and winding road.

Not if grown indoors under high pressure sodium lights.
Usually 12 weeks from start to finish unless you have auto bloom seeds or clones which is about 8 weeks from start to finish.

and uncertain

That is why most growers use clones from a kick ass plant which makes it certain to grow the exact same kick ass weed.
There is plenty on the internet on how to grow weed if you have the time to waste.

Ouch !
Do you trade yourself or do you have a broker ?
Oh they will recover quickly.
There is a lot of money sitting on the side line right now.
I am patiently waiting.
This virus thing is just starting and going to get a lot worse.
Stocks are going to go even lower yet.
Cash will be king in three months from now.
I want to get in on ground level this time because I am old and I know it will be my last chance to make any serious money in the market.

It would be nice to visit Poland in style before I die.
I wanna take Ziemowit and dolno out for a big steak and beer.

what if the share price remains flat at around 18 for a longer time, like even years?

What if ? (Just hide and watch it)
What is the difference if you have your money in a minus paying interest bank account ?
If there was a stock out there that was a guarantee we would all be millionaires.
You are the one that was preaching diversity.
Why do you think they call it the Wall Street Casino ?

It was at $36 plus just a month ago and dropped to $17 in change for a low.

In my humble opinion that makes a company of such importance to Europe one heck of a buy.
I have been wrong before though.
It's not like I invested the whole family Piggy bank into it.
No guts no glory.

to keep diverse well-stocked portfolio instead of focusing on one company ?

You are still in Investing 101.

Why didn`t you listen to them?

They were listening to me and you should have too when I posted three weeks ago, BEFORE they started to tank, that I sold most all of them and started buying short.

Google that to keep busy.

Besides, take advantage of bottoms now and invest.

If that is your strategy then I admire your confidence and lack of experience if you think they have hit bottom.
My experience tells me that they are going to go lower yet and will not even think of taking advantage for at least a month if not longer.

This virus is just starting to hit on this side of the pond plus with all the people out of work.......things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get any better.

If you want lessons in trading pawian start a thread on it.
In fact I will even be nice enough to offer you a suggestion for a long term investment that you may do very well in.

Here is a tip for you, I am watching the stock DT very closely and even bought a 200 shares @$18.62 per share on Tuesday when the market was tanking.

It is a German telecommunications company (which is going to always be there) and by revenue the largest telecommunications provider in Europe.
The company operates several subsidiaries worldwide, including the mobile communications brand T-Mobile.
In my opinion it is a good buy right now as you will see if you click on the 'MONTH. space on the chart I will provide that it is on it's way up even in hard times.

bing.com/search?q=stock+DT&src=IE-TopResult&FORM=IETR02&pc=EUPP_UF03&conversationid=

It was at $36 plus just a month ago and dropped to $17 in change for a low.
If it goes back up to $36 (and it will eventually) I will make $3400 plus on my 200 shares. (A months vacation in Poland)
If this drops below $20 it is a very good buy IMO.
There is your second tip and lesson on investing in the market, the first when I suggested everyone to buy TESLA.
My pleasure to share with you. ;-)

Off-Topic / English teachers - 'functioning alcoholics with a superiority complex' [54]

But they are trying to find a cure.

This thread is eight years old and the general consensus hasn't changed by the majority about teachers having a superiority complex.
I think that may be because they know how easy it is to baffle children with b.s. so the children believe it is gospel truth.

Children are trusting and don't know any better.
Then when a genius like you, Rich, call them out with any kind of facts they start projecting their guilt trips, denial, humor, re-directs and anything else they can to save face.

This is not saying there aren't some good teachers out there, it merely is saying that most school teachers have a big head and demand respect that they don't deserve.

I think pawian is a good teacher for Polish students by Polish standards.

St. Patrick was actually British.
His real name was Maewyn Succat.
Maewyn Succat was his name until he changed it to Patrick when he became a bishop.
March 17 is not Saint Patrick's birthday.
St. Patrick's Day observers who might have thought they were celebrating the saint's birthday will be surprised to learn that March 17, 461 AD is actually the day he died.

Are you saying that fake smile is worse than a frown ?
I personally would rather be around a person smiling all the time rather than someone frowning all the time even if the smile may be fake.

Frowns are generally not fake and we know full of drama.
