Life / My experience in Poland 15 years ago as an American trying to live and work there. [167]

MG: Any more examples?

TH: Definitely - safety. There are no mass murders or school shootings in Poland. In the US, things like this happen every few days. I'm sorry for my words, but I don't want to live in a country where any frustrated idiot can have a gun and on a bad day harm me or my family. And there are far too many guns in the US and they are too easily accessible. In Poland, if someone wants to have a gun, they must pass special tests and they cannot carry it with them, much less carry it loaded in their belt. In the United States it is the other way around - a person with no criminal record can freely buy and carry a gun. Of course, it depends on the state, but in general - too many guns are not a good thing.

MG: This is actually a good reason to put Poland above the USA. Do you have anything else?

TH: I could go on for hours. Social assistance in Poland is much better. No one goes hungry here, you have subsidies for children, for poor families. Nay! Everyone has access to education. In Poland, anyone who is sufficiently motivated can pursue a bachelor's, engineer's or master's degree. In the United States, you have to pay from PLN 8,000 for a year at a public university. up to 25 thousand hole. For private universities, often twice as much. People from poorer families have no chance for education.

There is something else I envy you. Polish passport. It is much stronger than an American passport. The USA has many enemies, and Poles have one of the strongest passports in the world, you are in the top ten strongest passports.

Another issue is days off. You have 20 to 26 days off per year, depending on your length of service. Americans have 10, although some employers give more. The same with maternity leave. In the US, no one goes on vacation if they get pregnant. You go to work until the last month. Then you can take 10 weeks off, sometimes unpaid, and return to work. In Poland, a woman has 9 months of leave when she is pregnant and then 12 months of parental leave.

An interview with an American teacher of English who`s been staying in Poland for 12 years now.
onet.pl/turystyka/dalekowswiatpl/amerykanin-w-polsce-uwaza-ze-w-polsce-zyje-sie-lepiej-niz-w-stanach/kpy4pmh,30bc1058?utm_campaign=cb

He mentions things which are better in Poland than the US.

MG: You told me earlier that Poland is a better place to live than the United States. Could you expand on this idea?

TH: There are many reasons. First, the cost of living. In Poland, the ratio of what an average salary can buy to prices is much higher than in the United States. Here, a person earning the average national income can rent an apartment in a large city, even near the center, and not just any apartment. Furnished, small, but with a kitchenette. In the US, to live in New York you have to earn twice the national average.

MG: Is it really that much?

TH: Yes. The national average in the US is around $5,600. per month, of course, it all depends on the condition. This is not enough to live relatively comfortably in New York, unless you start living somewhere on the outskirts and cut living costs.

MG: Are you saying that earning $5,600 doesn't allow you to live better than in Poland for PLN 6,000?

TH: That's right. Poles always tell me that they earn better in the United States. Okay, on a one-to-one basis, of course you earn better, but that doesn't mean you can live better for it. Living in the USA is very expensive. Besides, in Poland you have additional benefits that Americans do not have.

MG: For example?

TH: Health insurance. Poles complain about the National Health Fund all the time, but half of Americans would die for the system you have here. In the United States, it is estimated that approximately 30 million people have no health insurance. This means that if such a person has an accident or a sudden need for surgery, he or she must pay out of pocket. If there is nothing to pay for, either the procedure will not be performed or the person will be paying off the doctor's visit for the next 15 years. I don't know the exact amount this year, but the cheapest insurance in the USA for a year costs about 8-9 thousand annually.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

we know from history how they were loved. Especially those disabled ones.

It is considered that 80% fathers of disabled kids leave them and their mothers and vanish into the thin air coz it is easier and more comfortable. The woman is left alone and her ex partner even refuses to pay alimony.

For this and other reasons, abortion on demand is one of basic women`s rights and it will be introduced sooner or later.

Travel / Poles as tourists in foreign countries [93]

I keep quiet in public places for several reasons.
1. It is a characteristic of cultural intelligent people who don`t seek to attract the attention of random onlookers by loud behaviour. Only halfwits troubled with complexes do it.

2. I save my voice after exploiting it massively at school.

3. I make it problematic for Russian agents/spies to learn what Poles/Polesses talk about in private conversations.

4. I might be close to a homo sovieticus or nationalist person who might snap and suffer a major meltdown after hearing me and we certainly don`t need it in public places coz it deters foreign and domestic tourists.

News / Presidential elections 2025 - the race has commenced!!! [665]

you might consider voting for Morawiecki

Morawiecki as a PIS candidate is already outdated news. Recently he fell in disfavour with the PIS Chairman.

Mateusz Morawiecki , according to the PiS president, is capable, but not with more than 50 percent support. - Morawiecki is not an ideal candidate because he was a bad prime minister and increasingly dark clouds are gathering over him because of his premiership - points out Monika Wielichowska from the Civic Platform.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

No 2 change - each hospital has to employ doctors who agree to perform abortions. Conscience clause doctors who refuse to can stay, of course.

Quote from October 2023.

Abortion refusals under the scrutiny of the National Health Fund. The first facility punished. They will pay as much as half a million

The National Health Fund conducts inspections regarding abortion refusals, informed the Minister of Health, Izabela Leszczyna. One proceeding has already ended with the imposition of a penalty, and two more are in their final stages, she added.

The head of the Ministry of Health was asked at a press conference in Warsaw about the availability of abortion procedures in accordance with the current legal status. Medical facilities are obliged to organize work in such a way that at least one doctor can perform the procedure.

- We have a new regulation on general contract terms. [...] Currently, the National Health Fund's control department is conducting control proceedings regarding abortion refusals. On June 13, the inspection proceedings at the Pabianice Medical Center were completed, as a result of which a fine of PLN 550,000 was imposed on this healthcare provider. zloty. I know that there are two other entities where the inspection is in the final stage. I am afraid that imposing a penalty there will also be justified, said Leszczyna.

The amendment to the regulation on general terms and conditions of contracts for the provision of health care services entered into force at the end of May. It concerns the provision of end-of-pregnancy services by hospitals and requires the healthcare provider to organize the provision of services on-site in such a way that at least one of the doctors can perform the procedure that saves the woman's life or health.

However if you ask them that is also quite accepted in Polish society.

Today. But decades ago in my high school days I was gravely amazed when a female friend of my classmate whom I had met at a party earlier unexpectedly called me to say: I am calling to tell you that you are inviting me to the cinema. We were going out for 6 months later on.

leaving them on Polish territory.

In order to avoid the need to "detain the family for an excessively long time" and to facilitate the entire process, the officers decided to inform the Polish Border Guard through the Joint Center in Świecko and hand over the family to the Polish Border Guard. The Polish side did not respond for several hours, so German officers decided to take the family with a patrol to the Polish-German border near the town of Hohenwutzen and send them back to Poland from there, Jurgo reported.

News / Russian agents plan sabotage acts in Poland??? [74]

Yes.

Most of the network's members were recruited in Ukraine - they entered Poland as refugees. Today, however, it is known that this is only part of a sabotage network operating on behalf of the FSB, i.e. the Federal Security Service of Russia. The identities of at least a dozen more people have still not been established and it cannot be ruled out that they are behind the recent sabotage and arson activities that took place in Poland.

News / Russian agents plan sabotage acts in Poland??? [74]

Amasing news provided by Washington Post about Russians recruiting agents in Poland to blow up trains delivering armament to Ukraine. Seems too crazy to believe.

The network, which was mostly composed of Ukrainians, was tracked by the Internal Security Agency and the Organized Crime Department of the National Prosecutor's Office in Lublin in the spring of 2023. The first arrests included nine people, then the remaining seven were arrested. In addition to the Ukrainians, the group also included two students from Belarus and a Russian.

According to the findings of the Internal Security Agency and the prosecutor's office, members of the sabotage network observed air, rail and military transports. The selected places are part of critical infrastructure - the International Airport in Jasionka, the War Port in Gdynia, the Rzeszów railway station, crossings on the border with Ukraine and railway lines that are key to the transport of weapons and humanitarian aid.

Observation was made possible by at least six cameras installed at critical points with independent power supply and wireless communication, operated using applications installed on mobile phones. The group members ordered another dozen or so cameras, but they did not have time to receive and install them. The saboteurs were led by a man nicknamed "Andrei", who contacted them via the Russian Telegram messenger.

According to the findings of Polish investigators, the leader of the group operating in Poland planned to derail a train carrying a military transport in Poland and Ukraine - he offered 10,000 for this action. hole. But the tasks performed on a daily basis were simpler: setting fire to houses and cars, beating people, putting up anti-Ukrainian leaflets. Rates ranged from $5. for posting a leaflet, up to $300-400. for installing the camera. Recruited Russian spies also received money for renting apartments, traveling or buying a car. It was also established that the group's activities were also controlled online by other people using the nicknames: "Barbados", "Pink" and "Mara".

In December 2023, the District Court in Lublin sentenced 14 of the 16 accused people. They all pleaded guilty and voluntarily submitted to punishment, but during the trial two of them withdrew from the agreement with the prosecutor's office, which means that their trial will continue.

News / Referendum to decide about exotic immigrants in Poland [559]

Germans use this opportunity to drop their dear guest on the Polish side of the border and the Tusk government accepts them.

That`s the law. That Afghan family who was transfered across the border by the German police in their car yesterday and left on the Polish side were migrants who had already been processed by Poland and their kids even possessed Polish ids.

How do you like it? Do you call for breaking the law?? Rightists and natio boys are known for their casual approach to law.
