Imagine if Poznań's most wanted list looked like Philadephia's most wanted list...

phillymostwanted.org/default.aspx/MenuItemID/3/MenuGroup/Public+Most+Wanted.htm

... we definitely need more racial diversity in Poland!

When I switched to all fugitives...

phillymostwanted.org/default.aspx?menuitemid=59

... I came to the conclusion that there must have been a horrible global warming in Philadelphia. xD

News / Polish Parliamentary Elections 2023 [933]

If anyone sees an opinion poll and wonders how that translates into mandates, here's a useful tool...

kalkulatorsejmowy.pl/?pis=32.3&konfederacja=9&ko=26.4&trzecia_droga=12.1&lewica=8.1&pozostali=12.1

... and you can enter your own numbers too. It also gives you the number of opposition mandates that they would get if they started from a single electoral list. Quite interesting.

What I think will happen (based on various polls)...

1. PiS wins the elections but doesn't have majority of mandates.

2. Duda already said that he will give the mission of creating the new government to the representative of the party that wins (even if they don't have majority), so PiS will have to form a government.

3. About a month usually passes since the president's appointment until the first gathering of new Sejm.

4. During this month PiS will buy themselves the missing MPs (their corruption capabilities are almost unlimited), so that they will have the majority.

5. We will have the third term of PiS in power.

As much as I hate the scenario it does look like the most likely one. :-/

News / Polish Parliamentary Elections 2023 [933]

Hope dies last.

Regardless of KO being a liberal party with leftist leanings, and questionable views on abortion for example, I deeply believe that in the current situation - knowing all that we already know about PiS - the opposition's victory would be truly beneficial for Poland. I hope more people like me - Christians of deeply conservative views - will find it in their hearts and consciences to vote against their personal worldview preferences but for the greater good of our beloved country.

The opposition made a huge mistake of not going to these elections as a single block, and this mistake may cost them dearly, but let's keep our fingers crossed for them. PiS staying in power would be a very bad scenario for Poland.

You dare insult ekstradycja? next u be insulting ranczo

I see you draw your deep knowledge of Polish politics and economy from quality sources.

One needs to be blind not to see that we need a more German-like government (i.e. KO) for the war in Ukraine to finally end. Fingers crossed for Tusk whom I rather dislike, but he can be very useful for Poland at this particular moment.

Oh, well. No point arguing. One day after the elections all will be known. *fingers crossed for the opposition*

ignore list

There's only one poster here that I ignore (but a particularly obnoxious one), and that was a very good decision that I don't regret.

Sure, there's a lot of toxic, abusive arseholes on internet boards but with the especially retarded ones that's the only reasonable thing to do.

That's, of course, a matter of taste sometimes though. All the people that you mentioned being on your list I actually consider quite likeable (even if I don't always agree with them).

News / Poland says no to flood of Immigrants [670]

The invitation was extended when Poland decided to join the EU.

I doubt there are many people in Poland against EU-nationals coming to work and live here. Or against Ukrainian war refugees.

What people will never look kindly at, however, is the idea of bringing in masses of third-world immigrants.

Poland is a relatively homogeneous society, albeit a large country by European standards.

Some people say that Poles are xenophobic but the general definition of this word is wrong; it says: "having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries".

But as professor Wolniewicz used to say: "Xenophobia is not a dislike of people from other countries as such but it is rather a dislike of people from other countries who want to enter your home, very often uninvited".

Life / Why is women-hatred and stereotyping so popular in Poland? [181]

I don't forget details about people.

Women and their elephant-like memory. 0_0

The things you mention are indeed basic (...) which should apply to both sexes.

You think women should open door for men and carry heavy objects for us? Geez... I really wouldn't go that far. ;)

I don't argue with them Torq. I'm studing them.

If that's the case, then carry on. :) I thought you were genuinely arguing with them. My mistake.

standing up in defence of a woman, special treatemnt for women

Actually, I quite enjoy the basics: opening the door for women, standing up when my female colleague walks into the staff room and/or approaches my armchair to talk to me, helping women with carrying heavy objects, being charmant and knightly towards my wife even if we have difficult moments etc. It allows me to do the right thing despite circumstances whilst at the same time celebrate my amazing man-awesomeness. Those things weren't invented for women, they were invented for us, to shape our conduct and carve our character.

don't be sexist Torq

I'm not. I'm just being man-awesome.

So, you think that Lenka and me were insulting Ironside too?

I don't know and I don't care. All I know is that constant arguing with you makes him look bad, and I like the guy, so I don't want him to look bad.

You think that Iron has the same views as those men?

I've only just browsed through your post #148 now. I don't care about those guys; they sound like a bunch of mythomans, sociopaths or - in the best case scenario - dirty old men (JKM). All I want is for Iron to act with dignity and stop arguing with you and Lenka.

Do you agree with their views?

No.

Nauseating American nonsense

I'm not American, I'm Polish (through and through).

Anyways, I'm trying to instill some manly dignity and feeling of gender superiority into Iron. Don't interfere.

that your ovaries speaking

Come on, Iron. Don't you find constant arguing with women a bit below your dignity? If they insult you, say "thank you" and just don't continue. If you do it makes you look like you care.

You're a man. Value your dignity. Value your time. Value your amazing man-awesomeness.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

The time to do a quick deal was late teens and twenties.

Well, I won't deny that. My wife was 19 and I not much older when we met. Got married four years later and we're still together.

Adjust your criteria a bit:

1. 32-34 is still not too bad, if you decide to have kids right away.
2. In mid-30s she is bound to have been married before; not necessarily a disadvantage.
3. Languages-shmanguages. Love is a universal language :)
4. Intelligent, OK, but is education that important? Adjust this point.
5. I have a friend who married a girl from an orphanage. I don't even know how many times he told me that she's the best wife he could ever hope to have.

6. Irrelevant. Even better if she's not spoilt too much by luxury in childhood/adolescence.
7. Well, you can keep this point as it is. Man must have some pleasure in life. :)

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

I should marry someone for a few years, get some kids, then go back to living life as I've become used to it.

:)

Well, if you do that before the kids are adults, then it will probably hurt them immensely, so you'll be stuck with their mother for at least 18 years (that's why being in love with the woman helps).

But of course you are right - the later you enter into a relationship with a woman, the more difficult it is. You both already have your various, sometimes strange, habits and customs and the older you are the more difficult it is to adjust to tolerating the other person's idiosyncrasies (and here, again, love helps a bit).

Mid 30s is a bit late to start a family but definitely not too late. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Bobi.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

a whole generation was trained to believe that kids = poverty

Exactly.

Our grandparents used to say: Bóg dał dzieci, da i na dzieci, so our parents were born - a huge post-war demographic peak - and then we were born (an echo of that peak). Unfortunately, then the mass indoctrination started (literature, TV, movies, popular press, later the internet as well) and the whole generation is brainwashed into thinking that having children is an obstacle on their way to "self-realisation", "fulfillment" or "career".

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

@Paulian

Sure, kids are not our clones. However, a person who has children has a better chance of passing on his/her values onto them than a childless person does - that's all I'm saying.

I don't know of anyone who would belittle women who choose to stay at home

Apparently you don't spend too much time browsing the Polish internet; it is full of idiots making fun of "madki" and their "kaszojady". Women who decide to stay at home and raise children are called parasites, patologia, pińcetplusy etc. And it is often done by either half-witted female organisms or quarter-witted male incel organisms.

More interesting though is why you perceive that women are academically less able than men.

I never said anything of the kind. The example of a worthless PhD on Latvian cutlery (or something equally important), the pursuit of which made such person abandon the plans of starting a normal family, was intended to show the pointlessness of the current civilisational model in which "career" of "self-fullfilment" are promoted and encouraged in popular culture whilst stay-at-home mums are often belittled and disparaged. What the popular culture offers in return for family life is a huge lie that will make a lot of people miserable in the end. But sure - as you said: it's everybody's individual choice.

You strike me as being a very narrow-minded individual to be honest.

Well, some people are so open-minded that their brain falls out, so I'll take that as a compliment. :)
