True enough, Alien.
Here in the US, companies, indeed society in general, have bent over backwards
to attempt to accommodate "others" aka people of color within their organization.
However, all too often, the toxic effects of affirmative action have led to the exact
opposite from what was originally intended, that is, the proverbial fair shake for
everybody.
In my opinion, if an applicant is plain unqualified for the job, don't hire them,
even if they look like Marilyn Monroe, that is, Beyonce and have umpteen church recommendations, bribed the hirer etc.
But in places such as New York City, their complexion is their protection (quoting
Mayoral Presumptive Curtis Sliwa)!
