That's not a fair comparison.....

For the US and most of the West space has lost it's priority. A grave error which will cost us dearly, especially as the Russians have never let up and the Chinese have found their ambition to become a space faring nation too.

Why are you so interested in lowering the numbers at all? Shouldn't you be...I dunno...proud of that "achievement" and instead of downtalking it?

Isn't it mind boggling when non-Germans adore Hitler and the Nazis? Totally ignoring the sacrifices their own ancestors brought and the fate what would had awaited them if their heroes had won?

I can understand when Germans or even Japanese do this, but Russians? Poles? Brits, USians????

That doesn't do sh't for the deep split across the country, in the case the Remainer would win now only the other half is deeply unhappy and angry...

That means 16,8 million Germans have european roots...meaning their parents or one parent came from countries like Poland....and only a small minority of those have roots in a muslim country, and most of these come from Turkey!

Aren't you getting sick of harping on about such few people and feverishly painting doomsday scenarios? Why are you so damned scared of these people? You are sh'itting your pants just thinking about them...

I've never met an East German who was anti-American, unless he was a former SED member.

Especially in Berlin. All anti-americanism in Berlin was imported with west german Anarchos, Kommunards, Junkies and Hippies and what not...

I LIVE HERE...born and raised in East Berlin...and I still live here, heh:)

I still like it to much to relocate to the baltic coast...well...maybe later...

I usually do too. But we are still living in a Europe of nation states (and probably will do so for the next decades).

An independent East Germany would had IMHO only viable in a Europe of Regions...as an federal region of Central Europe. But even for this the Bundesländer Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg, Thüringen, Sachsen und Sachsen-Anhalt would had better chances if they unify to one region.

For example Mecklenburg-Vorpommern would be not be viable on its own, no matter the alternative scenario....

Most in eastern germany are against NATO.

The only ones against NATO are the crazy lefties from Die Linke....I would never had pegged you as such.

How else could you do it without keeping border controls?

No Berliner wanted a free city! We wanted to take back our rightful place as capital of a re-unified Germany...

...still an unrealistic vision. Totally disregarding the fact that East Germany never was an independent state...forty years of communist indoctrination couldn't it make it so in the mind of the people.

It always was only a soviet zone of occupation of Germany cut out forcefully, against the will of the people, only kept alive with a stone wall and the military.

But then please do so with all of Europe...good luck with reshuffling the borders.

Just look back before WWII...East Germany was then not the "far" East but Mitteldeutschland...in many ways the scientific and cultural german mainland.
Bavaria for example was only rural, agrarian backyard.

It became the wild East after 40 years of isolation...not of free will!

But that's the case in the whole of Europe. The immigrants gather in a few big cities...there they find support and jobs....the internationality and anonymity of these cities helps alot.

The rest of Europe looks totally different....every European living here can tell you that!

Seeing is deception!

When you see a migrant ghetto in a big town....say....Berlin... then it might lead you to the perception that the End of the White Europeans / the Doom of the West is imminent.

Just a short travel into the hinterland....say....Brandenburg, would show you a totally different image and you wouldn't sprout such nonsense anymore.
