Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

You say so when. e.g., you are going to somehow take part in an approaching situation.

to be honest, Pawian, I have never heard of such a phrase, using 'pip'.
the only one I can think of is 'it gives me the pip'

Life / What is Poland's view on obesity? How healthy, fit are Poles? [166]

in fact there are a myriad of reasons. I mean, there have always been stupid people, not obese ones.
Cheap corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, for a start.
then move on to how children are now kept indoors as mollycoddled prisoners with an X box (no exercise)

School league tables meant that PE took second place and besides that , many school playing fields were sold off for housing.

Also, there is more poverty now, and if you don't have much money to spend on food, you are not going to buy kale and lentils. No, you treat yourself with a bag of sugary doughnuts.

There are more reasons but I will leave you to think of them yourself...:):)

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

I think abortion should only be allowed up to when the heart starts beating, which by all accounts is 6 weeks.
All these right on lefty men shouting in favour of abortion have no idea what it really means.

allowed when the pregnancy is a result of rape or in case of life-threatening situation for a mother.

the thing is here, you see, that 'life threatening situation' is wide open to individual interpretation, by different doctors. Like in the UK.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1400]

Another food I have never eaten (the first and last time when I was 6) , because it has always looked like green shyt to me,

ha ha, that put me off spinach for many years also! I blame our mothers! (or fathers if they cooked it,)in fact spinach is a lovely vegetable.

The worst thing I have eaten in Poland was 'Flaki soup' and the worst thing in the UK was 'eels and liquor' - traditional London food by all accounts! barf.

Life / Polish women fight for their rights - manifa and other events [281]

I think I'm gonna pull up to Amish country in my Mercedes over the weekend and start bringing them home.

um..yeh...this post does kind of suggest kidnapping Dirk.
Is it the head-dresses or the long skirts that do it for you?

front holes.

you do know that this little phrase was coined by trannies right? You know those weird fekcers who want to be fake women? and you have just adopted it without a thought? they think that using the correct term (vagina) is trans exclusionary.

So if women are ';front holes' then you are saying that you are a back hole - otherwise known as an as$$hole?
You must be the first guy i have come across who has happily described himself as an a$$hole...
Bless.

UK, Ireland / Why Poles will never belong in England [283]

No wonder poles are leaving in greater amounts...

and Polish people are not leaving because of Muslims, don't be ridiculous.

Anyway you lot are always banging on about how great Poland is, lack of Muzzies etc., well then why don't people go there and work hard and make it a better place, instead of running like rats from a sinking ship?

Shall I tell you why?

Please don't Lilana. as a UK teacher, use Englsih not a mangled version of the poor child's language.

Anyway why would you do this? there must be other children who don't speak English at home.....aren't you supposed to teach them all in English? or are you going to mash up all their languages for them and confuse them? or just the Polish kid?

Surely this is not what you learn at teacher training?

oh wait ..'settting' - OK.. not much training then..

FGS Dirk, that is how it is, Get over it. The Muslims I mean. I don't blame them for pulling their children out. What a lot of nonsense. I would be with them.

What do you think should happen?

UK, Ireland / Why Poles will never belong in England [283]

Poles in UK will never be seen working as bank, school or corporate manager

well that is not true. I can think of several Polish people I know, working in the bank here in town, or at the council as housing officer, or running care homes or shops. You are spouting pure nonsense.

There are vast swathes of the UK population who are still Catholic from the old days, pre-Reformation. Shocking eh?

Genealogy / The typical Polish look, or all Eastern Europeans [656]

One black man who was trying to sell me a religious book said to me that I was Polish just after the few phrases I exchanged

perhaps he recognised your accent? Perhaps he also spoke Polish?

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

That's all that was needed to be said to Dirk, instead of getting nasty and personal. He never does, unless attacked.

well he does.
You two are like two little weather people popping out of the clock, one at a time..:D:D Which one wears the trousers?

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

Rich, what is the title of the thread? Why does Dirk have to turn everything into a (seemingly) narcotic fuelled rant about Sub Saharan Africans?

What is the name of the forum? who was the thread about?

Well done. Maybe you have similar obsessions, I don't know. There are other websites that might be more to your...tastes.

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

exactly. Look at the title of the thread...it's about Polish people, because it's a Polish forum. Spike showed us an interesting map, there was a comparison with Irish people in the UK, (diaspora, Catholic, single working men, possible racial bias)...then the value of IQ tests was touched upon, along with cultural bias...all reasonable discussion, right?

Then Dirky has to come along and start spouting off about the stupidity of Africans..having failed to grasp the point of the discussion completely, as well as show off about his (frankly average) IQ score..

I expect he has now gone to chop out some more lines.

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

Take a look at sub-Saharan Africa where the average IQ is 70.

you simply cannot take in valid points that people make can you, without having to deafly rattle on about your little obsessions?
you just sound thick, tbh. (108 is slightly above average if you want to know) Anyone who bangs on about their IQ scores is a bit of an idiot, IMO. (and before you start on what mine might have been when it was tested, let's just say you wouldn't have got into my school..:)
