Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

Okay here is an example....growing up as a child we had to ask for permission to leave the dinner table..

Please may I leave the table..
Please may I have a drink..etc.

Maybe its a little different when in a pub, I would say - I'll have a g&t please

I use please at the beginning of a sentence..

Please may I have ......

and then we say thank you at the end...

in England we have a saying

Manners maketh a man

I guess being dumb is starting to be randy these days.

I don't you mean randy..lol (what's on your mind at the moment) I think you may have meant trendy...

The art of conversation is being deminished, people have personal stereo's people prefer to sit in front a square box and not converse with others...I think what people read has a lot to do with it and a lack of interest in world

Thank you Amathyst, it looks that my post was taken again in wrong way.

People on here tend not to look at the bigger picture and have a tendancy to jump on people without actually thinking things through, we all have little differences in cultures, as for the smiling, we have been here before and like I said I had a good look one morning and saw no glowing smiles on the way to work, but a load of miserable faces....I may add they were English miserable faces!

This is very true Mr M, I personally feel that Polish people have a lovely command / usage of their language, one which the English have long since forgotten, we no longer express ourselves the way we used to, the vocaulary is very limited amongst the younger generation, its quite sad really since there are so many ways to say so many things...

Ivona you must walk around with a broom stuck up your backside...

I think that is totally unfair, Iwona askes in a positive way, she is not having a dig, she is merely showing cultural differences and asking the reasons behind it, one thing I do find the most irritating is when people spell others names incorrectly! Iwona...not Ivona...

LOL, I know what you mean some people are over familiar, I think its just an icebreaker...

I dont think Polish people are rude, not in the slightest I have always found them polite.

Life / Customs - First Holy Communion in Poland [42]

I got a prayer book a rosary and a wooden plaque with Jesus on - but that was a long time a go, I think I too would have preferred jewellery

a little silver jewellery box with the date and event incribed on would be nice.

Well in my pierogi when i cook them i put boiled mash potatoes mixed with feta cheese... like goat cheese and they are amazing...

now that sounds nice....I havent tried pierogi yet, i dont think, what is that thing served with the beetroot soup - its a long shape looks like its been deep fried in breadcrums but inside its like a pasta with a filling, if it is pierogi, sorry folkes Ive had it twice and both times it wasnt very nice...

RACISM

It had been said that Polish are racist...hmmm that is debatabele, since all nations are and all off us are in one way or another whether it be against someone for the colour of their skin, nationallty or religion. Lets face it we all are in one way or another.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

Its all down to personal choice who people like....what look they prefer and what turns their head..and what keeps them engaged in conversation...to say one nation is better than another is not exactly inteligent, but a personal choice.

I agree - but this is not what I meant - I guess I should be more clear in the future.

thats fine I sort of understood, people are pinning everything on appearance...and what they see as a posed to what they have actually known...

It's 2006 and Poland is a very young country in comparison to the rest of Europe so I think that you're average Polish woman has more choices now and will contine to have more choices....

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

I mean I have heard all sorts on here, blokes that have had their fingers burnt by a Polish girls so their views are that all Polish women are deviants...men on here who have found their true love in a Polish girl so think in a positive way....we can not generalise about an entire female population...because thats just silly

but it does really scratch the surface why Polish women are different.

I think any decent girl with a good upbringing is no different to a nice Polish girl with a good upbrining,
