Good job Polish Underground.

Russians left on their own. Polish Underground had nothing to do with it. Quoting:

When did Soviet troops leave Poland?

It was agreed at the time that all Russian military were to leave the country by the last quarter of 1993. The process ended on 18 September 1993, when the last Russian soldier stationing over the Vistula within the framework of the Northern Group of Forces left Poland.S

As I said...nothing to do with the Polish Underground. No shots fired, no heroes, no poetry,...just an agreement.

Why Russia agreed to go home is another matter. One thing is for sure...Russia was not defeated by guys with guns and a box of ammo...

Now I am going to talk about books about the Rising which I have read since childhood.

Kolumbowie rocznik 20 aka Columbuses born in 1920 was a trilogy about Warsaw underground fighters by a communist writer Roman Bratny. The second volume covered the Rising. Later the book was adapted into a TV series.

Warsavians are serious about their Rising monuments. A huge scandal broke out when a 76 year old woman desecrated a massacre memorial with coffee dregs. She was detained but didn`t explain her motives to the police. Later reporters accosted her in front of her house but she kept silent. She will be fined for her dirty act.

She must be stara wariatka.
