And indeed, I am strange, but always entertaining :)
There are three of you: 1. what you think you are 2. what others think you are 3. what you actually are
A twat in my opinion, and not entertaing at all just a bafoon.
In response to your last post: I have met many a german who still hate the Jews, the foundations were laid centuries ago and unfortunately some are still there. The Japs can almost be forgiven for bombing Pearl harbour but the Germans can never be forgiven for the holocaust, and everything else WWII for that matter.
There's a fourth one actually: that's the one you are afraid of :)
(I wonder, has a grown up who calls himself 'Boy' and usually does not add much to a conversation automatically disqualified himself as being a valid discussion-partner?)
Forgiving is something completely different than forgetting. If you want a better world, one should be able to forgive without forgetting what happened. About hatred towards Jews, I found the hatred in Russia towards Jews much deeper than in Germany, where in my experience only the odd weirdo is still saying he hates the Jews. I was raised near the German border and was in Germany many times. In Russia it's basically mixed with this blame-factor: "we have it bad and it's all your fault". But they do (did) this not only to the Jews, but to any Westerner. I remember that I was in St Petersburg some while ago and some guy just came up to me and said that I had to give him money as I was from the West and therefore I owed him. He got very agressive when I didn't give him any. This kind of crap you got a lot of times back then. I don't know if it's still like that, haven't been there in years, but this picture is still very vivid in my mind.

Germans are Germans can you imagine the Dutch or the English murdering Pakis or any other foreigner for that matter out of pure hatred? The majority of the German people knew exactly what was happening and they turned a blind eye. Nazi's ruled germany via national socialism granted BUT the murdering still went ahead according to plan. I have spoken to many Germans and the foundations for WWII are still there to this day.
Enter the board house wife, sexually frustrated or time of the month.

people are easily influenced and goaded in directions that suit their leaders aims - this was as true then for the germans as it is today for many other nationalities
One will always have ignorance. In a way this is normal: when ppl see other ppl that do not look like them, have other habits than they have, talk a language that they cannot understand, then this becomes strange, more strange and ultimately scary and threatening. If everybody everywhere in the World would just take the time and look a little bit further than what they actually see or want to see, then I think we can get finally rid of this primitive hatred. You don't have to like 'em, as long as you don't hate them if they have done nothing to harm you. In my opinion hating things you don't understand is a bit like hating yourself and when you really, truly and deeply hate some ppl just because they differ from you it just diminishes yourself as a human being so much...
You don't have to like 'em, as long as you don't hate them if they have done nothing to harm you.
Polish immigrants are harming decent folk within the UK, they are undercutting the labour sector thus directly affecting decent hard working UK tradesmen with families and mortgages.
and what on earth would be wrong with that! as far as I know the English and the Irish have never had problems with Jews
Who's to blame for that? The Polish workers who work hard and get underpaid? Or the employers who creepily take advantage of this?
if the labour pool wasnt as extensive then there wouldnt be a problem - for instances a forklift truck driver temping could get circa. £12 per hour 4 years ago, now he can get £7 per our - yet inflation has risen...you work it out
and what on earth would be wrong with that! as far as I know the English and the Irish have never had problems with Jews
Nothing - I was only kidding and making fun of the way some ppl think.
Actually, that is not quite true: in Britain there have been some pogroms against Jews, the most notorious one being in York, somewhere in the 11th or 12th century. The usual: lots of ppl owed a lot of money to the Jews and they did not want to pay them back or could not. So, what is easier in a case like that than just to kill them? You get rid of your debts in an instance...
My mother does so too and I am proud of her...It was just a sarcastic remark, because there are ppl out there that actually think like that, how discusting this may be.
Granted, the labour market is stretched and getting overstretched more and more...That's a general problem everywhere in Western Europe. The influx of new workers from Eastern Europe willing to work for less does not help the situation...Ah but anyway, the World is going to end in 2012, so we only have to endure it for 4 more years and then it's all over :)
Btw: if your mother looks typically Jewish, then you must look like me :))
To answer the question, I'd say the Russians more, based on comments from students. Most educated Poles know that Hitler was an angst-ridden maniac hellbent on having things his way. OK, many Germans may have felt the Poles to be inferior but they weren't Polonophobes for the most part. The Russians imposed communism, a truly backward ideology in practice, which has led to huge resentment. Another factor could be that I live in Silesia and people here have many German connections. I went to a place called Ożimek and I heard a lot of German. There was bad blood here too but ties have been forged and many Silesians go to Germany to work. Russians are often seen as drunkards

BS. And don't forget that Polish-German relations on the governments level despite some problems are much better than Polish-Russian - like I said If German government was doing what Russian does then no one here would dare use German language.
And did u read the rest of my post? U r arguing for the sake of arguing but look at what I said. Most educated Poles tagged Hitler and his Nazi sleazebags for what they were. Clever Poles know that modern day Germans deplore what Hitler did. Trust me, I know first-hand how much he was hated by most Germans. I'm quite aware of the inter-governmental relations thank u very much.
Many Germans did feel the Poles to be somewhat inferior to themselves but, remove the Nazis and u removed most of the anti-Polish sentiment.

As far as I can see it, Poland has the bad luck that it is crammed in between two bigger countries that both have a view on Poland that is generally not friendly. And what's worse, these two countries didn't like each other. So when the neighbour to your left is much bigger and stronger than you are, hates the neighbour to your right, which is also much bigger and stronger than you are, chances are pretty big that every fight between them will be fought in your garden. Therefore I always have felt sorry for the Poles as they always seem to get caught up in the middle of something which has basically nothing to do with them. Just being there at wrong place at the wrong time. The Germans went even further and put the Polish nation to a burden with which they have to live forever, and build the most disgusting invention of mankind on Polish soil.
NB: amongst historians in Holland there was this joke, pointing at Poland's move to the West as a result of all the wars: one more war over there and Poland will be the Netherlands new Eastern neighbour. But this just as a side-remark.
Well put M-G, Communism and Auschwitz, 2 of the worst inflictions on the Polish psyche. The Poles are smart enough to know that there wasn't a referendum on these issues so the majority of countrymen from those big 2 didn't back it.
As Lord Acton said, "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Disagree with that Greg? Go on, try!!
Home / History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians?
