Varsovian you are posting totally not scientificlly base information.
Recent years have seen the publication of a plethora of genetic reports dealing with the Polish population. As a result we now have a fair idea about the Poles' genetic structure and position in Europe. In many ways these studies have challenged traditional anthropological and historical research on Poland, which often claimed the Poles to be strongly mixed with a variety of ethnic groups that have migrated to the region over the centuries.

In a nutshell, the Poles appear to be typical northern Europeans genetically. They generally cluster with the other Indo-European speakers of the region, and show differenecs from Finno-Ugrian and southern European populations. Foreign influences on the Polish genetic pool, both from different parts of Europe, as well as from outside of Europe, appear to have been minor.

They appear to be Slavs genetically,in fact among the purest Slavs. They have also less diversity and mixes than other neighbouring folks.

My whole family in Poland are purest slavs. They have rather blonde hair (boys get darkblond with age) and are blueeyed. Needless to mention they are superior football- and chess-players and are very inteligent, arrogant, strong and beautiful. My dad is part German and he has curly black hair. The best way to offend him is to tell him to go back to Turkey ;)

Slavs are superior football players, short memory Tomek? Czechs and Poles out in the first round.

OK, Russia (not fully Slavic) has the best chess players but hardly superior. The Hungarians can pretty much match them.

How many internationl tournaments where won by Slavs? Help me out here...

What do you mean? Weather we got R1a1-markers on Y-chromosoms? I don't know, but my relatives live since generations north-east of Kraków.

The borderregion is very mixed - It's a gradient composition in these areas. Sorbs and generally people around Cottbus have slavic blood in them one can say as well. Descendants of polish migrants in Rhuhr Area or northern France - its all mixed up due to higher industriall workforce demand in the past.

My granddad beeing of German nationality had a name rather connected with Hungarian region, but they apparently moved centuries ago into Silesia as well.

Yup...that's why every statement of "pureness" of especially the border region is doubtfull at least...:)

Arier Nachweis

Proof of "aryan ancestry"...or so I think.
During the third Reich every person had to give a complete, documented verification
about all ancestors (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great grandparents + all uncles and aunts) over 100 years (in some cases 150 years) back.
Without it you got no jobs, could not marry etc...well...popping up a jew or a gypsie or another "undesirable" of that time would had proofed fatal too!

This Nachweis was used to classify people after the Nuremburg laws..

Arier Nachweis

Its a certification that you had only aryan ancestors, up to your grandparents for the small ("kleiner Arier Nachweis") or up to 1750 for the big one ("Großer Arier Nachweis") - It was issued during the Third Reich and was needed to get a job in some military relevant areas (big one) or any government job (small one was enough then)

i'm Polish and i have dark blond hair and bluish green eyes, my bro has light brown hair and blue eyes, sister got dark blond hair light green eyes same as my mom, pops got black hair and baby blue eyes. All of us including my father, as kids had light blond hair, most peoples hair darkens with age. Polish people are mostly of the Nordic stock with a bit of admixture of other groups, that is why most of us got blond to medium dark brown hair with blue, green or gray eyes.

With an Asian mix of any kind, the strongest feature to continue through the blood line is the eye shape. It's very, very strong, and even noticable in blonde people with fair skin.

Yeah, I have been told by all kinds of people that I have an Asian eye shape, including Asians themselves. I think it comes from my Eastern European heritage, but whether from Poland or Hungary I don't know.

This thread is so incredbily helpful for me. I have medium brown hair and greenish-blueish-grayish eyes. My Polish grandmother had dark hair and light eyes.

I am half Polish... and I have brown hair and deep olive-forest green eyes. On the Polish side of my family there are both blondes and brunettes, but EVERYONE (on the Polish side) has green eyes.....most of them have light green eyes, but me and my Polish grandfather have the deeper green eyes.
