All Poles seem to have heads shaped like Turnips, all the ones over in Britain ripping us off anyway!

It's true; these Poles come from an area in Poland called Turnipski. They are referred to as Turnipheads. Your post indicates that you come from Blockia and are often referred to as a Blockhead.

Poland is one of the blondest countries in the world at forty percent but there are also many brown haired people. The eye colour of Polish people also varies but most Polish people share similar facial features like high cheekbones and a "heart shaped" face. Even if a Polish person has blond hair and light eyes they will noy be mistaken for a Scandinavian becauase of thair features. Also they will not be misyaken for a Russian; those look more Asian and are usually more serious and Soviet.

I'd say the biggest giveaway is a straight nose that tips downward ever so slightly at the end....but you can also end up with a witch hook :/ The "button nose" is a distinctly Western feature (and one I got from my mother haha).

We also tend to be on the color extremes. You either get Russian- or Western-Poles who are blonde, pale, blue/green-eyed, etc., or you get the full-blown olive skin, dark hair, dark eyes. The "exotic" look, as it's called here.

I've also found (but this is just me hypothesizing now), that Polish women are pretty evenly-proportioned. My sister has the ridiculous German legs, whereas I'm longer through the waist. My legs are also much shorter than hers (she's 17, I'm 21 and we're the same height), but we can both rock heels like you wouldn't believe.

So...how do I stack up?

tips downward? umm, I think pointy or tipping slightly upwards are more common. The button nose is more or less a Asian feature, Europeans have straight kinda long noses. I agree with the rest Poles either have a Slavic look or look western European.

So...how do I stack up?

You're of half Polish half German ancestry?

I didn't know there is such a thing like generic western european look.

Spanish people

Swedish people:

Not much in common.

Not Spanish that's considered Southern. I meant like the Germanic peoples. You remember Adrian Pracoń the Pole residing in Norway who Breivik didn't kill because he looked Nordic and ''right wing'' to him?? Some Poles could easily pass for some other type of European.

you've read this in a former post of mine or you actually knew? yes half french half irish ... but i never get told i look like either so i think this points to it being very difficult to tell. Although i suppose the fact that i am always that pale regardless of the amount of sunshine i get would point to my irish heritage and the fact that i smoke like a chimney and enjoy everything made with cream and butter indicates the frenchness haha

skin tone, eyes, relatively thin hair Irish. Face shape, nose French.

see if i could have gotten the french skin tone i'd be a much happier person on the whole... :( damn inability to tan ever. i'm not sure what a french face shape is but mine is shaped exactly like my fathers so i guess that must be it haha. I suppose the combination of french and irish leads to something that appears to others as german russian or polish which i get most often...

My sister same two parents looks like a native person with blue eyes ... and you penn boy look eerily similar to my boyfriend just a different mouth otherwise you could be twins

Well the French are "descended from peoples of Celtic, Latin and Germanic origin, and are today a mixture of several ethnic groups.'' so it makes sense.

I have pinkish pale skin myself. I do get burned pretty quick but don't get freckles.

Ha, well thank you. Do you know which part of Poland he's from?

Merged: Are Poles green, have antennas instead of ears and tails?

The main aim of this thread is to answer the question why do foreigners have silly ideas about Poles?

Just a moment ago I had a doubtful pleasure to read a comment by a member of this forum saying that Poles not only have distinguish face features comparing to "Europeans" (whatever that supposed to mean) but also Polish women walks differently. The member when asked for clarification of course dodged the answer as if it was something intangible... that brought me to the undermentioned conclusion:

When you want to see an alien in a foreigner you're surely will behold an alien. You will scrutinize everything about him and judge as odd. In fact most of your judgement would be just a figment of your imagination.

There is a thread about Polish looks where people post their picture to find "Polish traits" in them. Reading the abundance of descriptions what people of various nationality believe is a typical Polish look, there's no common consensus yet in terms of the facial features. Probably because there's no Polish look in fact. I doubt there's Polish way of walk. Do we smell differently too?

The saddest thing is that despite having chavs, rednecks (or whatever you call them) in any country (and chavs basicly looks the same everywhere), when one thinks of an average Pole, one imagines a chav or a homeless bum. Does it make you feel better?

Relax. Should Poles care?

We seem to be much too sensitive.

Probably because there's no Polish look in fact.

I think there is, but it's down to fashion, hair and make-up.

Polish women and German women are as different, dress wise, as chalk and cheese. And this when they buy from the same chain store
