Hi there,

My email is Koach137@mail2poland.com

I sure appreciate this.

I was wondering if you were still around to answer some other questions if that's possible:

1. Do you have any info regarding the siblings of Wasyl and Helen (our great-grandparents) or further info of relatives in Poland? I know of Wasyl's sister Tekla "Tillie" on Rice St. in Chicago who had a son named Nestor. I'm not sure of their last names. One of my uncles said that Tillie was married twice, and Nestor was from her first husband who died. I know that Helen had an older sister named Marianna "Mary" Solomon and a younger brother named Frank Pilip. I've gotten quite a bit of info for them. I wasn't able to find an obituary for Mary's son John (died February 2002 in Reno, NV). I know very little about his family. I think I have a picture of one of his wives. I've been told by different people that he was married twice. On the picture is written, "To Aunt Helen, Love Marian Solomon." This 'Aunt Helen' is our great-grandmother.

2. Do you have middle names, birth dates, birth locations, death dates, and death locations for the descendants of your grandmother Anna Lewicki? I don't expect you to put it on here to the public. It could be done over PM or email.

3. Is her first husband Raymond Hancasky, Sr. still alive? I can't find a date of death for him anywhere.

If any of this is too difficult to answer, I understand completely. Have a great day!

I was looking and noticed a poster had a bit of info about Theodore's family. If he or anyone else is available, I'd like to know the date of death for his wife Martha.

Hi,

This is Dominic's grandson. I found one picture of Wasyl, but I'm interested in the ones you have. The picture of Wasyl on findagrave.com was taken outside Dominic's in-laws' house in Calumet City, IL.

HI KOACH, my name is luella kocielko, i was married to paul kocielko for 7 years. my dad and dominic were best friends. he was at our house all the time. he and helen were divorced at that time. i was just a kid so i didn't know helen. my mom and dad and dom and helen use to go ballroom dancing in hammond at a place called danceland. dom lived in a little trailer at 5 points. my folks moved to w.va and dom would come to visit us there. when i was 17 he brought paul with him. paul had just got out of prison. we met and fell in love. paul and i had 3 kids. lynette, ruthie, paul john jr.(P.J.) WE WERE WITH DOM WHEN HE DIED. I WAS PREGNANT WITH RUTH,SO DOM MUST HAVE DIED IN 1968. HE WAS THE SWEETEST OF ALL GRANDMA'S BOYS. HE HAD A READY SMILE AND WAS ALWAYS JOKING. EVERYONE LIKED DOM. PAUL ALSO WAS A GREAT GUY THAT WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK BUT SPENDING SO MUCH TIME IN PRISON AND NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE A REGULAR LIFE WAS HARD FOR HIM AND HE SEEMED TO OVER INDULGE IN EVERYTHING. ( I DIVORCED HIM BECAUSE OF HIS DRINKING) but we were still friends. JOE KOCIELKO WAS A GREAT GUY AND HAD 7 CHILDREN ( BEVERLY MUSSARIO,RICHARD KOCIELKO, MARILYN EARTLY (DECEASED) PAT SEELY (DECEASED) SHEILA BLACK, JUDY HOPKINS, JOEY KOCIELKO. I AM MARRIED NOW TO RICHARD (DICK) HAVE BEEN MARRIED OVER 30 YEARS. I KNEW DONNIE, EUGENE, JERRY, PAUL AND I USE TO GO TO CALUMENT CITY AND VISIT DONNIE AND MARY. I REALLY LIKED DONNIE. EUGENE WAS LIKE 16 WHEN DOM WOULD BRING HIM TO JOLIET TO SEE GRANDMA. HE WAS SHY AND DIDN'T TALK MUCH, BUT HIM AND I GOT ALONG WELL. HE'S YOUR DAD RIGHT? I DID NOT KNOW JERRY VERY WELL.

I CANNOT REMEMBER NESTORS SONS NAME BUT IT WASEN'T DAVID OR RICHARD. I MET PAULS AUNT AND NESTORS MOM A COUPLE OF TIMES AND I LIKED HER. NESTOR OWNED THE APARTMENT BUILDING THEY LIVED IN. I THINK WE CALLED HIS MOM AUNT TILLY. HIS WIFE WAS VERY NICE AND I CANNOT REMEMBER HER NAME. HIS DAUGHTER WAS NADINE. I WAS ABOUT 20 YEARS OLD AND DIDN'T PAY A LOT OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL LOL

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS E MAIL ME.

I think The spelling is one of the same, Bazil had a belt that had the spelling of Kociolko. We heard the spelling was switched when they came her to the states.

Hi there. I know I am a "guest" but my Grandparents are Don and Mary Kocielko whom still reside in Calumet City. My great Grandma was Helen, whom passed away in March 2001. Don "Coach" (as we call him) is not my fraternal grandfather, but he is the only grandpa I've ever known.

My name is Donald Joseph Kocielko jr. born August 25th 1972 in Joliet Illinois. I am son of Donald Joseph sr. and Jean Merrie Kocielko. My Dad was born December 13 1951 ,and is the son of John and Luceille Kocielko who also have a daughter named Linda Kocielko or "Aunt Linda" as I call her.

My grandpa John Kocielko had a brother named Paul Kocielko , and I am not sure of their Moms name but I do know she lived to be well over 100 yrs. old . I was told that John or "grandpa Kocielko" was in the Polish Mafia which he did seem to not talk much and seemed very strict and kind of tough and a bit scary and spoke Polish to his friends much like I would expect of a Polish mobster. Of course that is all hear say and mere speculations though it does make for a more interesting possible family tree that could have branched any direction or none at all. I wish he could have lived long enough to answer that question for me.

well that's it for now ,I have 4 brothers ,some nieces and nephews, and a son and daughter of my own , but that's for another time.

Hi again. Reviving this very-old thread. Time sure has passed, hasn't it? I was recently informed that family records for the family may exist in the Archiwum Państwowe w Przemyślu. They apparently have records going back to 1845. Does anyone here have access to that database? A search would be greatly appreciated if possible.

@Koach
My grandfather was Eddy Kocielko and owned the Bar with his dad Bazil. I am still in the Joliet area. I am trying to piece together my family ancestry also. My grandfather Edward (Eddy) Kocielko died young and my mom and Aunt dont' know who Bazil's grandparents are. In my recent research I see another Basil Kocielko that my be my great grandfather Bazil's cousin? Trying to figure out who our Bazil's parents are. Thank for any help. My name is Ami

I have had a brief look at these websites entering your father's name but not sure if I have searched in the correct category.

If you're looking for metrical records you can look for their birthplace on szukajwarchiwach.pl
You need to know their religion - Bazyli sounds RC but Wasyl sounds GC or Christian Orthodox. Both are equivalents for Basil.
Check American records to find their place of birth.
Even if the records are not available online, you can contact the archives to check the records for you.
