'Has anyone tried Zubrowka vodka- a genuine Polish vodka? Its relly nice, flavoured with bison grass! In every bottle they put a single blade which confirms the polish origin and bottling of the vodka. Very delicate flavour whjich can be enhanced with tasting caviar or smoked salmon. Cant get enough of the stuff! Drink it in moderation tho!x

I like Luksusowa in shots n a juice in second glass after a shot. It taste good in drinks too. I think Luksusowa is the best polish vodka, its pure and have any chemical ingreditiens. Have good balance beetwen methanol and ethanol, so you dont feel sick next day and dont make you wanna throw up. Serve chilled, put in freezer.

My second favorite drink is vodka with martini, i preffer martini rossato. This drink taste good, dont fell taste of vodka only sweetness of martini. Im from Polan and i was drinking a lot when i was student. What can i say more... NA ZDROWIE!!!

Alchemia Vodka is AMAZING! Its a newer brand but extremely authentic! It tastes just like what my grandma used to make for family reunions. Very smooth and delicious!

My current favorites:

Luksusowa : cheap and good, you can pay a lot more and not get better vodka (and it works very well in mixed drinks)

Żołądkowa Gorzka Czysta : At first I was disappointed, these folks usually put out herbal vodkas (which I like very much) and I thought this was a new flavor, but it's not, it's a ... clear vodka that's _very_ smooth.

Non-Polish all-time favorite: Finnlandia

History: I never much cared for Wyborowa, the first time I was in Poland, the big vodka was Żytnia (made from rye) but it's all but forgotten now, it exists but who drinks it? This may be related to the general fall in quality in the early 90's when there was also lots of pirated vodka (that could get you very sick if you happened across it). I would like Żubrówka more if I hadn't drunk a bunch once after drinking a lot of wine (hey, I was young and innocent and didn't know that's a bad idea) with all too predictable results (holding onto toilet for dear life).

LOL! That's f... funny!!! But really is not. True alcoholics kill themselves with Denaturat. (Poor man's Absint - purple instead of green.)

Once I have enjoyed a visit by a relative of mine. He brought a bottle of Pan Tadeusz vodka. As much as I don`t like vodka (I prefer wine), his was quite agreeable to my taste buds. Strong but with a little sweet flavour.

'I once enjoyed a visit from a relative of mine' is better pawian. Yeah, PT is one of the best, if not THE best vodka, that I've tasted here.

As far as I know przypalanka is a home made burnt sugar which is added to vodka or diluted spirytus, which makes them more palatable and adds some color (amber). I don't think this stuff is sold in stores.

Sobieski is the one for me. They are really pushing it in US and I've seen it around the country (traveling a lot) - and just saw an ad in Rolling Stone. Finally.

Three Olives flavored vodkas are FANTASTIC, but I don't think they are Polish. V is a Polish vodka that I would consider comparable to Grey Goose, and the one to never go near is Kapitanska, good Lord that is battery acid in a bottle.

Though not strictly speaking Polish anymore since the company moved from Lwow to Vienna after WWII, J.A. Baczewski Vodka, which is a potato vodka, is very good. Until just recently their label said "Established 1789 Lwow." It also has the benefit of being very reasonably priced.

Chopin is expensive - Sobieski is not. Sobieski in here (FL) is 10.99 a btl!

sobieski isn't good. You should teste a Luksusowa or Zawisza(with red label). Polish vodka is generaly OK but the best i have ewer drunk is vodka from UA (Ukraine) like Medof, SV, Nemiroff etc. This vodka is really cheap and very good.

Sobieski is without a doubt our favorite vodka of all.A price point of $22.00 on a half gallon makes it even more attractive.
Everyone who has tried it at our home loves it.

I love Sobieski. Better than Goose or Ketel and inexpensive. Great Polish Vodka - proud to be Polish.
