What is your favorite Polish Vodka?

Should one drink vodka at room temperature, 'frozen' at -20 or chilled at +4 ?

btw, for me - absolvent, luksusowa and of course zubrowka

Brought to the table that way, and whatever temp it is when it is done, so be it. That's my preference.

My favorate vodkas:

2. Blue Goose
3. Skyy

Żubrówka aka Bison Vodka or Bison Grass Vodka or Wisent Vodka or Grasovka (ger.)

A lot of friends say that but I find it kills the flavour. I prefer +4

Well I'm not much of a vodak drinker but Zubrowka is lovely!

Sobieski is a good one. I had tried it with my Polish friends really relaxes me good stuff.

I see Sobieski all over now - at least here in Chicago. Damn good vodka. Great price point.

No more for another 39 days or so for those of you observing Lent.

We had been working our way around vodkas from other countries. I think it was the Smirnoff that nearly killed me (hint: if you have predictive text on your mobile phone, key the word Smirnoff in and see what you get). Finlandia was alright, seemed quite clean. That one comes from Suomi, wherever the Helsinki that is. Then there was Absolut, again not too bad. Still not my favourite thing ever from Sweden, although maybe preferable to Ikea.

I have considered doing a consumer test of various Polish vodkas. I could do it right now. Right next to me is my drinks cabinet (bag). I still have a splash of Żubrówka for the taste of the tropical side of Poland (anyone else think of coconut?) Then there's some Wódka Żołądkowa Gorzka, which does have a nice flavour (I'm not sure what particular special bitter herbs are used in it). Then for the plain vodka, there is half-an-hour's worth of Mazowiecka żytnia (Mazovian rye vodka) and half a bottle of Wyborowa.

I am far more tempted by plain vodka, drunk a shot in one go followed by a swig of apple juice rather than the fancy flavoured varieties, although I am always willing to try. (Okay, so not exactly always - I have to do other things from time to time such as work or sleep). As with whisky, something produced from a single variety of grain looks a lot more tempting than something thrown together from a mix of barley, oats, potato and the like.

Should I drink or should I leave it? The Mazowiecka has not returned to the bag quite yet.

LOL, those pictures remind me of my SIL's college graduation party. He hasn't had anything to drink since!

If you plan to drink so much, be sure to have plenty of water - keeps you from getting dehydrated, and helps avoid the hanggover.

My favourite is Chopin, without a doubt. Here I have no problem finding many Polish vodkas, but I like Chopin the best. (Not that I am a big expert)

Just got introduced to Sobieski Vodka last night. I think I had too many but what a great taste. I have no idea how much it costs - LOL - did not pay for it. Who is the importer?

everybody says zubrówka cuz they dont know any other brands.... There are many more vodkas from Poland, not only that grass crap.

I don't drink vodka myself but my wife liked Zubrowka with apple juice while we stayed in Poland.

I'm going to Warsaw at the end of this week, and want to buy some really good vodka (something that's not seen in the US) Any suggestions?

Żołądkowa Gorzka...original...forget the mint and honey rubbish...the original is miles better!

Żubrówka as original Polish.

But as pure vodka I only buy "Bols" but it's not Polish.

Sobieski is very good also is Chopin and Belvedere.good when you mx it with juice.
