Chlodnik (or zurek)

Bigos

Kielbasa (w/czerwona kapusta in aromatic koperek)

Pyzy

Pretty much standard fare both in Greenpoint or in Szczecin!
Obviously, there are regional specialties as well, but I'm sure
I'm not as familiar with those as some of you guys.

I'd suggest a good steak, but in Poland it's not very popular and it's never done the way it should be, considering that beef is cut in thin slices and they also remove fat, which makes it impossible to do good steak. Americans in general aren't very fond of traditional Polish foods and they seldom eat pork.

Beef tenderloin, with fresh potatoes and iceberg lettuce drizzled with kefir. What do you think?

It sounds good to me, but how it's prepared is important too. I'd add more green stuff, broccoli or asparagus too.
