ha ha. As an earlier poster commented, unless you know someone in the Forces you don't really appreciate that you can't just quit.

does it vary depending on the length of contract remaining?

In a word, yes.

One pays back money according to ones pay scale and investment that has been made. Saving up a lump sum on top of your normal bills is not so easy.

edit. Maybe it would be better if this thread were deleted. Sorry J

i know... dating soldiers seems to be family tradition, my parents were about to get married when Dad got the letter saying he has to go to the army. and when i was born he'd risk a lot just to get out from the camp and see me! little baby Justysia lol

I can imagine, squaddies have to pay for uniforms, accomodation etc.

accomodation

if they live in the barracks, the rent is stupidly cheap, and when they go away on exercise or training, army pays for their accomodation, too. the houses built for the troops families are relatively cheap to rent, too.

that is none of your business.

None of what you wrote here was mine or anybody else's business, and still isn't.

you don't have the right or enough knowledge about the british army system to ridicule it

I have the right to say whatever it takes to make you realize what your true feelings and decisions for the future are. You gave me that right by opening up in front of the whole world. This is not to say the future will be the way you just declared but this:

all the trolling going on here made me realise just how confused and lost i was when i have written my first post

just proves that to convince Poles about something is easiest if you try to convince them to accept quite the opposite. Works like a charm, doesn't it? :))

Good luck to you both.

LOL This is why people think Americans are idiots

Just look at Scott's USA profile, he's Polish. No need to judge or insult Americans but then again I personally don't give a damn what you guys think about us. Words don't count but the facts do and the fact is that our nation achieved more in 231 years than most of the others countries in thousands of years and I'm proud of it just like you're probably proud of being whoever you are.

[quote JustysiaS' yeah there is always a twat or two who have to add their miserable few words to the conversation. i have been expecting it sooner or later

After being for more than 4 years in Poland your reaction doesn't surpise me at all. One thing I've learned about you guys is that you love to criticize others but hate to be criticized. The word twat coming out of your mouth is rather a compliment.LOL

It appears you have no idea what you are talking about.

Are you American?

Again you are flattering yourself. For what it's worth, a general piece of advice for most Americans is dont say the first thing that comes into your head. It's probably wrong. But never mind. Have a nice day :)

It would be appropriate to say thought that "our nation" consists of immigrants from "other countries".

I sincerely hope that it takes Poland as long to have nutters running all over the country shooting at everybody......i like it the way it is.....I spent some years in the USA.....Poland is very different , and i am thankfull for that....

good point LOL

US is not what it used to be. A country to look up to and we all know it.

Besides, there is no good or bed coutry or the system. THere are a lot of really great things about the US but trying to impose their way of thinking and doing things is not something people appreciate a lot. After all, whatever US has achieved was done previously by somebody else.

don't comment then if you feel like it's none of your business, i didnt specifically asked for YOUR opinion.

it's more of a woman thing rather than a Polish thing in my personal experience lol

You can try a policeman, they also wear uniform.

Im just jumping in here without reading previous posts only the initial one.

1st. JustysiaS please put paragraphs within your sentences! it makes it so mush easier for the reader.

2nd. When i met my future wife nothing would keep me from her, irrelivant of debts and what not. In my opinion your boyfriend has many demons to slay and your not on his priority list.

Maybe Mum waited for Dad but thats back in the 60's those rules dont apply today, do what you gotta do and make sure he does the same only then can you guarantee your relationship for the next challenge.

Don't worry about my life. You are the one that came here with the problem so rather worry about yourself. You started all the name calling. I just commented to the thread.

im 23... i was born in the 80s. i will wait for him and not do the emotional blackmail thing on him. he's gotta do what he's gotta do. i am his priority cos if he didn't care what i wanted in life he'd never think about trying to make it happen.

so you suggest that if a woman who is going out with or married to a soldier should just dump him when he gets posted away in the middle east? when he's trying to better her future?

JustysiaS please put paragraphs within your sentences! it makes it so mush easier for the reader.

you are the first person complaining about this

Keep that chin up babes, the rewards are far greater. As the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

In my opinion your boyfriend has many demons to slay and your not on his priority list.

Or sounds like he has a job to do, you know, the one which he is getting paid to do.
