They should provide a little basinette which is like a little bed/basket which they affix to the wall. They should also seat you near the wall part (I don't know what its called) maybe Bulkhead? I found the service on Lot while in flight is great. On the ground in Poland it sucks! I would bring the little car-seat carrier as it makes going through the airport easier and they will take anything you don't need from you as you board and give it back as you de-plane. Don't feel bad if your baby cries and some people get ruffled what can you do. Just be bold demand what your baby needs and don't worry if he yells a bit its what babies do. Generally flight attendants are very helpful. We have a two year old, now thats fun traveling!

It should seem pretty obvious that until fairly recently there were really very few jobs for foreigners other than teaching English,unless you were fluent in Polish, so why would an American in this case even try?

It would be idiotic to come to Poland without any contacts or knowledge of the job market. But it seems Mr. Mansun managed to survive for six years so it must not have been that bad. It isn't what nationality you are but what are you qualified to do.

Even though Americans poo-poo doesn't stink, if you cant "mowi" you really can't expect a good job. Lastly if you asked any American (geographically challenged nation that we are) where in Europe are their many jobs no one would say Poland. if the average idiot American knows anything about Poland they know it is struggling with high unemployment. Everyone I knew thought I was an idiot for working there for so little.

I would ask to talk to the head priest but make certain they will accept your "lessons" in Poland or you will have to do it again and get everythingin writing. Your Fiance's church should be able to help with what the exact documentation is.

Not to discourage you but my wife and I wanted to have a Polish wedding after our U.S. wedding and the red tape was too much so we bagged the idea and had a party instead, but my wifes family is protestant. Protestant Poles who knew?

I think Polish history should give young Poles hope and pride that their Grandparents or great-Granparents overcame such terrible adversity. It should instill a sense of encouragement that they can change Poland for the better. But alas maybe I'm just a dreamer.

I have been shaken down several times by the conductor who insisted I had the wrong ticket and forced me to pay more money. As my Polish got better this happened less.

I used to commute everyday for 6 months from Katowice to Krakow. The real crime is the wait to by a ticket. My advice to foreigners is don't talk too loudly (especially my fellow Americans) and look a little crazy and people will leave you alone, blink your eyes a lot, seriously it works. On crowded trains often no one sat next to me.

You can do some TESOL classes online for $200 or so. I taught for years without any certification this was in Katowice where the need for teachers (Native Speakers) is great.

I kept my job because I was good. I had my student loans deferred but it took some convincing and some paperwork from my boss in Poland. Check out Empik Schools they pay well and care about their teachers. Also you can look for Callan schools you need no certificate but its a method that gets tedious, and beware of TOP English School in Katowice the boss is slimy. If you really want to live in Poland and teach go to a city that is less popular than Warsaw or Krakow as they are already chock full of native speakers so training and certificates are more necessary in those places. I recommend Katowice as per your other degree in business, as you could open up other oportunities by teaching, and meeting people. It is not a pretty city but it is growing and many corporations are opening offices there as it is cheaper than Krakow but close to Krakow.
