Love / Girls in Poland so desperate for$ Poland has the greatest no of Prostitutes [135]

Poland has the greatest number of Prostitutes in the world or atleast in europe?
Are girls in Poland so desperate for money? cant they find a decent Life partner and live happy life. I know every country has prostitutes but still so many in Poland?

you know BleedingRomeo, in economy there is something called supply and demand - first comes the demand and only then supply.
So, is it PL women who are desperate for $$$$ or men always desperate for sex?

Love / Girls in Poland so desperate for$ Poland has the greatest no of Prostitutes [135]

One survey I read recently said that more than ten percent of female Polish university students exchange sex for money.

oh yeah? And I've seen a documentary movie about students doing the same but in France -come on it happens EVERYWHERE!

It is a total rubbish statement that Poland has the greatest number of prostitutes in the world/Europe!

For Europian society in particular, western society in general, being prostitute is a good thing or bad thing? (my feel: it is not.)

In PL, a prostitue is not a respectable profession at all. In PL if you are a prostitute you do it behing closed doors, as you called it. You hide it and you are doing anything it takes so that people don't know you are a prostitute.

UK, Ireland / English tossers give Brits a bad name in Poland [139]

somebody here mention already that Poles can't recognize accents.

What's so surprising about it? It is a foreign language to us.
Can you recognise PL accents derek? A lot of people can't even make a difference between PL and other eastern-european languages.

Yes, I can recognize somebody from Poznan by saying number 3 , people from Silesia area, in particular working class background are easy to spot and Tatra mountains people :)

then you are an exception.

Anyway, tossing pigeons is cruel and stupid but in general I don't have a problem with tourists getting drunk and going a bit crazy. It puts a smile on my face to see people having fun.

Touching Krakow pigeons is disrespect to the whole nation. Peaceful birds, they are.

long live the Krakow Street Pigeons!
dishonour to the Pigeons Tossers!

Thank you for your post loveMYcountry. I agree with your point of view but if it was me saying that they would all say I'm a gold digger.

Thank you to all the men that have their honour and know how to treat a lady.

Life / Do Poles Lack in Social Skills and Etiquette? [74]

joepilsudski

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Totally agree. As a Pole I confirm that Poles Do Lack in Social Skills and Etiquette.
Never ever do we go out on dates, dine out, go to cinema, go for a drink or coffee/tea, go to dance clubs.
Don't ask why - that's just the way it is....

Life / Do Poles Lack in Social Skills and Etiquette? [74]

We've just had two secondees from our Warsaw office...they were out every night of the week, pair of little social animals they were

They must have had some Social Skills and Etiquette training before they came.

Life / Do Poles Lack in Social Skills and Etiquette? [74]

Take Gliwice for instance, where would you "eat out" in Gliwice? McDonalds and kebab stalls and pizzerias are the only places where you can eat out. Most Poles are pretty thrifty and will go to a restaurant only when they are rich or if there's a big occasion for that.

Gliwice is not the best for restaurants. It had a placed called Something Different but the rent was too high for the upkeep of the building. Gazdówka is a good bet.

come on guys, I come from Tarnowskie-Góry, which is much smaller than Gliwice, and there are numerous places to go out for a dinner or a drink there. Gliwice must have much more to offer but you just don't know about it.

Tarnowskie-Góry? Come on, few kebab houses, post communist style restaurants, pubs for youngsters or homeless drunkards, restaurants for rich people and some junk food huts.

here are some places that you might wanto to visit in Tarnowskie-Góry: Wiśniowy Sad, Rymera 6, U Wronów, Leśniczówka, Kurna Chata, Taco, Cafe-Bar Celona, Alicja w Krainie Czarów. But you wouldn't know these places, apparently you prefer kebabs, junk food huts etc.

And the city is horrible enough not to put your nose outside your house

and this city is mine!

UK, Ireland / Poland vs. UK - how the manners differ [48]

Definitely the shop assistants here are terrible. They seem to take particular delight if they can reply 'nie ma'.

hahahahaha, yeah I know this feeling...our dear shop assistants can drive one mad!!!!

As for rude manners at the table, i find it disgusting that so many people here in UK - including women - find burping and farting socially acceptable!

PEOPLE, IT IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND UNACCEPTABLE TO BURP AND FART AT THE TABLE!

Thanks for hints I'll probably try them sometime, but I'm taking a wild guess that half of them are pricey restaurants and the other half pubs for students that serve a pretty narrow variety of meals.

They are worth trying and not pricey at all :)

Love / Are expensive gifts offensive to polish guys? [30]

That is if you are not related to them?

I think it would be really ambarassing for a PL man/any man...

I guess it would be awkward for anybody to receive an expensive gift from someone not related to them?

Maybe you are right, about that, I just wanted to be nice, gave sth. he would need to buy anyhow :-/

I don't know how well you guys know each other, what kind of a person he is or what you wanted to buy for him.

I would say that most PL men would be amabarassed if a woman gave them an expensive gift, especiall if they couldn't afford to buy her something precious in return.

It was not expensive, expensive, little less then 100 Euros, but it's though more then you give here in general as a "casual" gift.

It makes some 400PLN so it's definitely more than casual for PL. As the others said, it depends if that's more than casual for the guy in question. If it is more, then I'm telling you as a PL girl that an average PL guy would feel ambarassed about receiving such a gift.

Love / Are Polish women too controlling? [106]

Am a normal guy just trying to find out about polish girls

this forum is probably not the best place to ask about PL girls.
Do you have any PL friends, colleagues, maybe your friends know some PL people? If yes you should ask them.
I don't think you will get a proper advice here.

UK, Ireland / Its strange that there arent many Poles who live in the UK on this Forum [102]

It has nothing to do with the numbers.
What enkidu says it simply logic, there aren't many PL people from UK on this forum because they post on PL speaking ones.
You wouldn't find a 'Dlaczego Brytyjczycy mieszkający w Polsce nie piszą na tym forum?' thread on let's say wp.pl forum, would you?

you guys ( not all Poles ) behave like medieval Jews, come to host country and dry its resources, no integration, no English, stick to your own just like those Jews. Shame on you.

oh yeah, no English? And like we are posting in which language on this forum? In Swahili?

Because you think that the British people, living here in PL, would be able to post here in Polish? I don't think so, the only person I would imagine posting in PL is Seanus.
