But Germans fighting the whole world is really a stunt.

Actually, a cunning marketing plan to get the world to drive fine german motor cars!

Life / Consider going back to Poland? [90]

If you see a stranger or tourist or hear someone speaking a different language, just go over and give them a big hug and say 'WELCOME'

I think you found Lodz-the-Boat's Stash, haven't you?

Life / Why are Polish people so ruthless? [87]

I always want to know the relationship status of sb so that I don't tread on toes.

Especially your wife's toes.

Life / TESCO SUPERMARKETS IN POLAND. Where are they? [15]

Have a tin on me.

Zywiec that is, not the beans.

Edit: Google maps - locate your city, then in the search box, type in tesco (or any other large shop) and a listing will come up with all the nearby locations of said shop.

Food / How often do you have Polish Food? [49]

Dunno why people pay for mass produced garbage like Heinz etc.

Lazy and or time crunched. Stuff like that is a last resort in this house.

USA, Canada / Shipping between Poland and Canada [8]

what?

Consider me re-educated ;-)

any intelligent guesses as

If you had asked me for an unintelligent guess, I could have provided one. But none of the intelligent sort. Sorry not my rice paddy of expertise.

Edit: Whilst returning nutrients to their source, I remembered this organization as well.

USA, Canada / Shipping between Poland and Canada [8]

Well there is the underground tunnels that connect all the major skyscrapers. Used mostly as an excuse to avoid the winter storms that come off the lake. They were talking about a tunnel connecting the downtown Island Airport, but I think it was cancelled due to not enough technological advances to carry it off.

I know DHL operates in PL as well. They have a depot near Dziadek's dzialka in Bialystok.

We have shipped packages to Babcia and Dziadek via ocean (never a full / part container, though) and used these folks.

Coming to help us build bunkers and tunnels? Cool. :-)

Love / Help-my polish bf doesn't fancy me! [94]

what is more important to you? Bjs or cars wrapped in ribbons as birthday presents for you? (a hard one, i know)

A well trained woman would deliver the BJ in the new car. Get with the program.

:-)

One must be careful to clean up any liquids that may stain the interior, pronto.

History / 9th November 1989: And the wall came tumbling down [113]

I think it's an error...and they should had let Gorbi do that

There was an interesting interview with Gorbachev on CBC.
cbc.ca/video/#/News/World/Berlin_Wall_Anniversary/ID=1321537609

It almost seems like a revisionist way of looking at things. And he has a little chuckle when he mentions New World Order.

History / 9th November 1989: And the wall came tumbling down [113]

Walesa is about to push over the first chunk of a 2km long wall. It is nicely decorated in the colours of the Polish Flag. That symbolism in itself speaks to the role that Poland played in the downfall of Communist Rule in Europe.

Regardless of who had the most occupiers/victims/riots/uprisings etc, I for one am happy that it happened.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

Its funny that Poles use New Zealand, Oz, America and Canada to back up their points on immigration.

Not entirely true for Canader. Loads of Asians here who can't speak the language, and start out living 3 families to a house, doing menial jobs to start. Second and third generations generally get with the program. We seem to let more immigrants in on Family Class basis - in the name of reuniting families (read: Old People who can't contribute to the economy, but sure take up a lot of medical resources).

5 more poles finished at work.

That's OK. I am sure they know where to queue up for benefits.

Food / Favorite Pierogi? [56]

I like it when the sour cream warms up to the temperature of the pierogi, and it flows off the pierogi!

Do I get extra marks for that?

News / 14 year old rape victim from Warsaw denied abortion! [348]

But there shouldnt be an abortion if the girl was not FORCED WITH VIOLENCE.

What about threat of violence, perceived or implied?

To kill a life is a crime. Criminals are those who keep committing this crime. Criminals are they...

Doesn't this conflict with the first quote? No abortion unless it is forced with violence, but it is not ok to perform abortions.
