Life / Consider going back to Poland? [90]

He was living in Poland peacefully, met some people, not too many of them showed him bad attitude towards him, no any bad press about ex-pats

You are in UK, constantly hear crap about EE immigrants, steeling jobs, abusing benefit system, flood and so on.
Do you see the reason why he have different attitude towards host country than you?

Consider this, people here are bunch of completely different people with their own needs and preferences. It seems nobody give a damn about your feelings. Most of them think - I am not interested. Its sad but it is true.

UK, Ireland / Poles in UK/Ireland and English speaking Polish media, do they exist? [8]

Do Polish people in UK and Ireland use English enough to communicate freely on internet?
Since 2004 a lot of Poles flew shores, from that time not to many English speaking forums and websites have been created. Even PF was made by American Pole long time before.

Ive been browsing passionately whole net and it seems we are not exist, our voice is not visible.
There are two internet based radio stations from London, but most what they produce is a pile of songs playing one by one like spreading bullets form machine gun, not too much talk in Polish and English. No English speaking forums about Poles and there are millions of us here. Only few blogs made by poles in English, you can count them on the fingers of one hand I suppose. 5 years in English speaking counties and nearly no sound of us. Are we don't need to communicate with local population, create mutual bonds, understanding each other or are we lack on entrepreneur skills?

Just wonder what you think.

And then you have the Polese, albeit not just them to be fair, getting child benefit for their children that don't even live here. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!

dont you know that scum all the time find the way to abuse benefit system, only decent people struggle because they care what people think about them.

Life / Why are Polish people so ruthless? [87]

There are various other countries with large numbers of employees here and none of them have done this. India, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Slovakia etc for example.

Every Polish girl would smack you right in the face for such comparison.
We are full time Europeans only raped by Ruskies for last 50 years but still Europeans like Germans, French or Dutch.

UK, Ireland / Leeds: Beware of purse snatch gangs in supermarkets [11]

what average person who reads this article think?

That old bag knows that that girl was a Pole and end of the story
She recognized the accent or something ( polish eyes, polish nose ) and there is no point to discuss. This is a simple example how accusation can spread and stir hate

How they know they are Polish? Are they wearing some badges?
For some old lady there is obviously no difference between Polish, Russian, Romanian. All speak the same to me are probably her thoughts but hey they are all Polish.

I bet if police catch them and they are not Polish at all, there wouldn't be any single word on it in the newspapers.

UK, Ireland / Where, in the UK, is the most Polish? [18]

stevew
You will never know where Poles live in UK and how many of them still live there.
There are only 4-6 or max 9 PF contributors posting here about the subject
Most of them are Brits, just a few ( I mean 1-2 ) are actually Poles who bother to comment here

UK, Ireland / Poles returning to the UK [33]

Brit men only go there for the women.

no, they do some native Englishe speaker jobs in schools of Engleze laguagese.
Plenty of Poles learning English now, probably to get some kitchen porter jobs in UK in short future, so they don't go here only for the women

Travel / How often do you visit Poland? [32]

Barney
our culture in connection with migration was focus more on literature than music. Actually our XIX c literature is based on it, migrations, expulsions. Henryk Siekniewicz wrote a lot about it. like in Latarnik - Lighthouse man -a novel about emigrant to America who worked in Lighthouse, he was old and lonely man who missed very much his old beloved country which was divided by oppressors, he was member of 1831 uprising. One day he received ordered pack of books in Polish , he was reading them with such passion thathe forgot to lit the lamp in lighthouse . That night one ship was shipwrecked because of this. After that he was sacked. This story shows fate of live of emigrant.

There are some others novels by Sienkiewicz about the subject, but they are in Polish.

I can try to get some titles or even authors who wrote on the subject and send you if you like, but later.

I think many of Christy Moore's songs could be translated to Polish to fit what is happening today

Good idea I will try to have a go.

does it mean you wouldn't be allowed to integrate or accepted even if you speak the same language (with slightly different accent ) because of your national background? what about Poles? they have to first learn language ( to achieve skill of complete understanding, it takes years ) and after that try to fit in?. Judging by constant crap about them from any possible media, which is no helpful - no chance.

The same fate or even worse than of these Irish from 50s 60s I predict.

UK, Ireland / English tossers give Brits a bad name in Poland [139]

szkotja2007
I think it is highly connected with the view of the country which you have in your mind. If you rate country low or lower than yours in your mind when you drunk you can do that. Sometimes that could be even encouraged by your friends ( making picture when you pissin to fountain naked ) to show to your friends back home how cool you were. Notice that when you rate country higher or on the same level you rather wont do that. Example for average British man - Japan, Germany, France.
