Life / Gas, petrol prices in Poland [42]

thanks peter... so in the uk we pay about double for our petrol what america pays... so why are our boys getting killed...?

They are getting killed to increase the price of petrol. The Iraq occupation increased prices. Guess what business Bush and his gang are involved in?

The Tax on Petrol gives the UK the some cheapest petrol in the West. The tax pays for the NHS whereas in the US it ends up buying Oil execs houses and ****** (maybe)

Petrol should be much more expensive. Even at £1 litre, its not a touch on the cost of the damage its doing.

Love / A Story of mine [47]

Yes and then to see her get out of bed and start texting another guy would be a minus.

If a girl insists on having her phone next to the bed while you have sex, alarm bells should ring.

When I go to bed no phone of any sort gets answered, I'm not being woken up for a wrong number.

Love / A Story of mine [47]

Sam

I haven't seen my girlfriend in three weeks. She just started making excuses, wants to see me but something always comes up. Painful and cowardly on her part. Today was the last straw - she's flown back to Poland.

Well, the solution is to go and find someone else. I was upset for 45minutes, now, I'm over it.

Good luck.

News / Poland's overall view on the US? [38]

I suppose being in the US when they attacked,

Obviously 9/11 and Iraq are unrelated. Invading Iraq was a criminal act with the intention of theft.

'"We rebuild their cities"

Well, nothing has been rebuilt. Nobody asked the American airforce to destroy the countrie's infrastructure in the first place and nobody is asking the US occupation to continue.

BTW the only 'construction' that US has performed was to level the city of Fallujah and kill all its inhabitants.

Love / Are Polish women in serious demand by Western men? [43]

find a women's brain to be the sexiest part of a women's body

Hmm..

Ok this is now relevant to me as I want to date a Canadian girl. I suppose if they are as dumb as you say it will make it easier

History / How long was Poland "lost in history"? [21]

Magus

Your information sound suspect.

freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~atpc/heritage/history/origins.html

the Slavic nations trace their ancestry to three brothers who parted in the forests of Eastern Europe, each moving in a different direction to found a family of distinct but related peoples. Fanciful elements aside, this tale accurately describes the westward migration and gradual differentiation of the early West Slavic tribes following the collapse of the Roman Empire. About twenty such tribes formed small states between A.D. 800 and 960. One of these tribes, the Polanie or Poliane ("people of the plain"), settled in the flatlands that eventually formed the heart of Poland, lending their name to the country. Over time the modern Poles emerged as the largest of the West Slavic groupings, establishing themselves to the east of the Germanic regions of Europe with their ethnographic cousins, the Czechs and Slovaks, to the south.

In spite of convincing fragmentary evidence
of prior political and social organization, national custom identifies the starting date of Polish history as 966, when Prince Mieszko (r. 963-92) accepted Christianity in the name of the people he ruled. In return, Poland received acknowledgment as a separate principality owing some degree of tribute to the German Empire (later officially known as the Holy Roman Empire--see Glossary). Under Otto I, the German Empire was an expansionist force to the West in the mid-tenth century. Mieszko accepted baptism directly from Rome in preference to conversion by the German church and subsequent annexation of Poland by the German Empire. This strategy inaugurated the intimate connection between the Polish national identity and Roman Catholicism that became a prominent theme in the history of the Poles.

Polonia / How do Poles perceive at SAUDIS people from Saudi Arabia? [24]

Adolf Hitler was born in Austria then later moved to Germany and its also clear what he did(trying to conquer the world). no one can blame the country, its the person who should be blamed.

Hmm, I think he a significant amount of support, even if he never got a democratic majority.

He was elected though. Democracy is good, eh?

News / Polish Campaign: "I protect my life against cervical cancer" [5]

There are many different types and most do most cause cancer. How rare it is is show that even promiscuous Gay men are being vaccinated as its unlikely they would already been infected. That post implies that half the adults will die within five years, which is scaremongering as you also need the genetic disposition and the statistics don't add up.

Having said that, I fully support that this should be on the UK NHS. I looked at the cost and it was 700 GBP.

UK, Ireland / Polish girls 'too pretty' for British schools [150]

I love my Polish girlfriend but thinking that Polish women are amazingly pretty is delusional. Polish women are fine specimens but they are no where near the most beautiful in the world. They tend more to the girl next door beauty, certainly someone to love and marry but not models.

From a Polish mans perspective things maybe different, the idea of the perfect women is set by your own culture - so Polish women are perfect for Polish men but other nations will have their own rules to judge beauty.

As for fashion, Polish fashion sucks. Its tat. Well, from the crowds I saw in Krakow.

Love / Illegal Polish girl wants me to marry her for citizenship [124]

Hey buddy you can not make it ANYWHERE like in the US, here is the real deal. America is by conception a nation of immigrants. Here does not matter where you come from or the color of skin, what matters is if you have what it takes to be a winner.

Whatever the propaganda Americans like to tell themselves, the 'American Dream' vanished decades ago. Statistics show that American have poor social mobility and its getting worse. Getting rich in the USA is harder than other countries. Poor people are getting poorer and the super rich massively richer. Being poor in American is worse than any other western country, in every measure of health, well being, education, infant mortality the USA comes bottom of the league. Just one measure, for instance, shows the healthiest American's age 50+ are unhealthier than the poorest, unhealthiest Britons. The Education system, the best aid in social and economic mobility, is designed to suppress the poor by being cripplingly expensive.

Even the minimum wage is the US is half the UK and Ireland's for instance, I'm not saying its ideal but the fact is that is what immigrants are going to get paid.

I could go on, about how US jobs are being shipped abroard to remove an entire class for any sort of future, for instance, but I won't. Unless you are from a very poor third world country (Poland and E.Europe is Second World, BTW) then USA is not the land of opportunity at all.

Genealogy / When did Poles adopt surnames? [27]

I find that odd. The first Census in Austrian Empire - southern Poland had all the surnames listed for each family. That was 1797.

News / The Impact of Poland joining the EU [64]

But horsecarts are not allowed anymore ! Example of how EU and standards also make world duller place. Maybe that's price for progress.

Thats a joke isn't it?

They aren't even banned in central London. Not very common anymore after the Young's Brewery stopped using them a couple of years back.
