Love / Polish woman and children [14]

please advise, thank you

get rid of her sharpish or get rid of your kids, it's your choice.
If she's complaining about your visiting them MONTHLY (golly you are generous with your time!) and they are NOT EVEN INYOUR HOUSE, boy you're gonna have problems if you marry her. Correction your kids will have the problem.

Love / Poland reverse of fortune in dating [124]

The Essex ladies would always win hands down.

Essex is a lovely landscapey place full of beauty and educated people, I bet you have never even been there..;)

Q. Did you hear about the Essex girl who got her putty mixed up with her vaseline?

A. All her windows fell out

But to keep on thread I do remember some years ago I was in Poland for some months, and saw skinny geeky English guys with amazing looking women, they would have been left with the mooses back in the UK, believe me.

The boys were delighted of course...

Real Estate / Foreigners: Please don't buy Polish Land! [823]

I'm sure if people from a foreign country were buying up real estate in the UK and pushing prices up, you would hold my opinion.

What makes you think this doesn't happen in the UK?

Real Estate / Foreigners: Please don't buy Polish Land! [823]

Racist opinions - that single out people because of their ethnic origin is considered as an act to incite racial hatred and I would like to point out that its highly illegal.

Oh for Chrissakes the girl's entitled to her opinion, plese dont start bleating about "racism"...what will she get arrested for in your world? Thoughtcrime?

Life / Positive Polish Joke [9]

There's a man walking down the road.
He meets another man carrying a long stick.
He says to the second man, "Are you a pole vaulter?"
"No", said the man, "I am German, but how did you know my name?"

Food / Is it just me, or is the Polish diet rather unhealthy? [119]

Brits eat beans for breakfast

they do?
weird.
I love Polish food and don't see it as "unhealthy" at all....it's all made with fresh ingredients, not from a packet like so much English food.

Life / The Elderly and their Psyche in Poland. [20]

if a person is dead would you rather pay 1,000 PLN for an average funeral or 20,000 PLN for a grand one with tomb stone to match??

the cheap one.......what do they care if they're dead?

Life / The Elderly and their Psyche in Poland. [20]

Maybe its because we care. Giving respect to the dead is something humans have been doing since the beggining of time

sure but if it involves bankrupting yourself it seems somewhat misplaced........maybe it's like "keeping up with the Joneses"......"oo look we could afford a bigger headstone than them next door".

Respect can be given without spending money u don't really have, a flower bed, a bench with a nameplate, whatever.

Language / Polish dictionary that included English pronunciation [11]

I'm looking for a dictionary that works in the same manner, does anyone know of one that works like this?

You could just study the phrasebook and learn which letters make which sounds....? It's not like English with thousands of variables..what u see written is what u say..

UK, Ireland / "Polish ambassador warns - think twice about coming to Britain for work " [126]

until very recently, many people didn't want the lousy jobs that Poles were doing.

Just recently I have dealt with a Slovakian WPC, a Polish dental receptionist, a Polish doctor, a Polish cafe owner, and a Polish life insurance salesperson.

These are not lousy jobs.

I think it's sad for someone with no degree but perfect natural English after say, 9 years in UK, to return to Poland's inflexible job market where the college paper seems to be everything.

Travel / Ski holiday - suggestions for ski resorts and chalet contacts [14]

lonely
This year we went to Zieleniec which is near Kłodzko and Duszniki Zdroj.
It was a fantastic holiday.
There is a website with accomodation contacts.
sadly I have lost the number for a really good agrotouristic guest house just out of the vilage, but you might find it on the website. It was at Laszowka.

Love / Received an email from a young Polish woman - Is she too good to be true? [70]

'Get a nice woman of your own age.' I have been trying for over a year but apart from all the emotional/relationship baggage women of my age seem to lug around with them, they just can't keep up with me, if you know what I mean ;-)

yeh sure...
or in other words you're a sad old perve? who else would even be entertaining scam emails?
