Resurrection? What resurrection do you mean? The only resurrection I can see is the resurrection of a debt policy. It is a poor policy. Capitalism has brought us to madness.

In former times, nations went into a war, if they had too much debts. Nowadays we continue piling debts for the next generation, what is even better, but not good.

There is no decision between a system of structural shortness (communism) or senseless abundance (capitalism), there must be something between those poles...and here I come back to Poland. Its state isn't as bad as you mentioned.

Given, that you are right, TheOther, pushing the thesis that Poles who stay in Poland want to set up communism once again - don't you think that we haven't already introduced communism in the world? Think on the state-owned banks in America and all over the world. During the financial crisis lots of banks were grabbed by the state, cause they have to be consolidated once again. I do not see any sharper tendencies to communism in Poland. Compared with Germany, Poland is the old capitalistic devil...

I don't agree with you. Polish education is quite good. If I remember correctly, Poland took the second place due to the Pisa-Research...I do not think that Poles have paid any bribes before.

My expectation for Poland's future is positive because of its high potential of young people. Poland has the youngest population in the EU.
People work hard on a good education. Of course, it will take time to get international standards here, but it will work. Furthermore Poles are used to be not too demanding what means that they will cope with that crisis better than other European members. Most people are hardworking and ambitious.

There aren't any incentives by the state to become lazy. So Poles are always forced to find solutions in their life. That's the point why so many entrepreneurs do work here on their own...and of course ... why so many people have to work abroad. But it is amazing how improvisation works in Poland. The main question is whether they will be able to reintegrate well-educated Poles who are just collecting important experiences abroad. They should make them come back as soon as possible.

Last, but not least...it is noteworthy that history seems to repeat itself. While there was a big crisis in Europe during the 14th century Poland began to grow economically as well as politcally . So let us see...I would bet...yeah...

Yes, we are just thinking about an investment in Cracow. It is not so easy to find the right object. The project looks great, but as we all know...everyone has to check all details thoroughly. My experience is that language schools in Poland don't have any interest in any progress of their students. It is a real business. Warsaw has more than 300 schools - there is a big bubble as well as in Cracow. I am sure that in cities like Cracow the oversupply will prick the bubble. The better schools will survive, unprofessional schools will disappear. Nevertheless it's worth teaching there.

I am not sure where it is better to live. We are just thinking about leaving the country back to Poland. Why? I think that the living standard in Poland is not so far away like some people try to make me believe here. And democracy has always been a process of learning - stupid politicians are everywhere. So what?

The atmosphere here is getting worse and worse - I think Great Britain was too service-oriented within the last years. They have lost all important key sectors in industrial businesses. It is a big history - you can explain the decline with the 19th century. There was a big crash, but nobody has learnt from the financial crisis of those days. My impression is now that Polish people are the scapegoats.

There have always been people who could not cope with immigration as well as people who integrated strange people successfully. I do not marginalize people's concerns over increasing immigration, but I say clearly, you cannot profit from globalisation on the one hand, and close your country doors on the other hand. We have an interdependent world with interdependent partners. If you have any doubts of global profits, so go out, leave Britain and you will have new chances and better money. You represent the pseudo-intellectual "as well as" view to make people think about specific points. That is okay. But you never think your points from the end. Would everyone like to go back in the past? Let me tell you something about the past. British Empire has been supported by a global British seapower. When British warships explored the world in th 17th century (of course later than other European countries) lots of people in Africa didn't know what poverty was. When imperialism started in 19th century globalisation had another face. Slavery and exploitation were two sides of one coin. British history is full of that stuff, similar to other European countries. If you foreigner 4 and all the others talk about poverty and full houses here, I can only laugh. I correct my statement a little bit:

There has never been a time so many people can benefit from globalisation. It is only possible because we have peaceful times apart from a few exceptions. So don't tell us stories here!

Sean BM, I fully agree with you. I have just been to Poland and I was totally impressed how things are going on there...I saw lots of steps done by the Poles, of course, with help of the EU (like Ireland), I saw people laughing, but I also heard people discussing the mentality change (due to the translation of my Polish wife).

I think some things will never change in Poland. Hospitality and the sense for education. It makes Poland so wonderful and fresh.
