Nobody wants dollars, but Euros and British pounds.

OK, but guess what Poles from the UK who are going to come back to Poland in summer for vacations exchange in banks? -- Euros and Pounds. Thus, the market will decrease their values against PLN and USD.

just wonder why the price of a 2weeks trip drops by half in june

Not sure exactly why, but I think there may be 2 main reasons:

1. In June all places throughout the US are very nice (weather-wise) so people from the US - even if they have vacations - don't go there as they have plenty of other options.

2. It may be very hot there in June (I think the prices to go to Florida in June are lower than in the wintertime).

I know Mexico may seem to be a cheap country (for Europeans at least ;), but - are you going on an organized tour or would like to rent a car and drive from East to West... If the latter one, you need to know Mexico looks good and is "safe" only around the places the majority of the tourists go. Other areas don't even have paved roads or stores not to mention even an average standard facilities. Unless you are in a group with a guide you should be fine, but lonely trips out of the tourist areas aren't a good idea.

Americans haven't really noticed the decrease of the US dollar in their homeland. The prices are basically the same. They notice that when they try to go on vacation abroad, but that's nothing crucial for them.

I think the US dollar is too low (or the Polish Zloty is too high). The US is now enjoying high export so in the long term other countries (including Poland) will have to decrease the value of their currencies to be able to sell their products. It should happen pretty soon - within 1-2 years.

Yeah, I think Polish people while make good money working abroad, they work too much, too many jobs and hours at one time. It seems their lives abroad starts and ends with a job. They should find more time to go on vacation - not only to Poland, but also to other countries.

Bartosz, go to any Polish translation, immigration, or travel office on Jackowo in Chicago or a Polish neighbourhood in other city and they will find you the right person. I doubt 8K will be enough, but that way you will be safe because the agency will know the person and would suggest someone who is safe.

So in other words, you wanna meet some Polish single ladies in Chicago? I would start by posting a picture here - profiles with pics seem to get more attention. I don't have one as I'm not single any more :). I don't think you'll find any local forum related to singles in Chicago only (unless you know Polish so you may try some polish websites). Other than that, I think some Chicagonians are visitors to this forum too.

Yes, it is a very unethical way to gain a citizenship in the US.

Depends. If two people love each other (I mean - not the "business" people, but let's say a Polish man met a Polish woman, but the Polish man has no valid papers and marries a US citizen for papers). Or many other possible reasons. If the governments are ethical, people will be ethical too. But it will never happen so I dont' think it's so "unethical".

But you don't live in the Tatra Mountains, Kowalski, do you? In the Zakopane area you have up to 3 months warm so you basically have to heat your home 7-9 months a year there..

Plus, I don't think you can fix your tooth for 15 Euro (maybe in a community hospital, but not in a private doctor).. I think it would cost more like 30-35 Euros.

Because in your case whatever you say or claim, it's always "Poles fault". You don't even have to write a word and I'll know what you're going to post. Your posts are subjective and you don't even try to see another point of view.

For sure you'll have to spend some money for electricity or wood since in Zakopane it's cold 8 months a year. Make sure the well is deep enough as I've heard people had some problems there (meaning - you may have a really deep well, but your neighbour can dig even deeper one - even though it's not with the law - and you will lack water then). You can buy gus on most gas stations to heat the house. Talk to the village guys and they will point you to someone who can "arrange" cheap wood. The most expensive will be car insurance I think. Health insurance is not very popular in Poland so you can get good price. I would not do shopping in Zakopane - go to the village or to Nowy Targ as you will get better prices there (Zakopane has higher prices overall for there are so namy tourists).

Also, talk to the farmers from the Zakopane area - you can get great food (meat, milk, eggs, cheese, etc) from them for good price. Don't count that you'll have your own vegetables in the garden as the soil in the area and the rough climate is not good for growing anything but grass.

When I hear such stories about "somehow" changing username/password, I tend to think it doesn't hold water. I feel that either you screw something up in the system or don't exactly know how to login to the system or how it works. There are very little chances someone could just change this information. I assume the one who could login (you) could have changed it too - so why didn't you change it right after you logged in..

I think you need to specify the area first. There's no general "church department" in Poland (as I know). If you know the exact place and/or address where your grandfather lived, it might be possible to track it down.
