passionate

Oh yeah... that word would be better. :) It's my poor vocabulary, so that adopted words (like aggressive) cross my mind first.

they are certainly not ill or sick

Not sick... What is homosexuality then? How would you call it? "Different way of perception of a beauty" or what? :)

People dont just wake up one day and realise that they are gay, it's a feeling

Ok, I agree. So your definition is a "feeling"? But this "feeling" contradicts the nature and doesn't allow to one to procreate. That's why I call this feeling "illness"* or better to say a symptom of an illness.

*illness - impairment of normal physiological function affecting part or all of an organism

Why not?

Just because it puts an end to your family (procreation).

That would happen if every living being would only think of getting babies as much and often as possible!

Don't forget that population is naturally regulated. The weakest dies having no chance to procreate.

Just take it as natural population control...:)

Absolutely right, I take it right this way but it's still decease.

I could understand that line of thinking with an endangered species...but not with humans.

It's rather ironic to hear that from the man whose people dies out. Yeah... I mean Germans (as well as Russians)... My attitude towards Germans and your culture is pretty warm and I want to see Germans thriving on their own land. Maybe it's time to change something, bro?.. In your ratrace for material wellbeing you seem to completely forget about kids as your future... like Russians here.

And I really doubt that in history an animals species where homosexuality also is quite "normal" ever died out because of that and not rather because the ever growing population of humans destroying his environment or just killed it to the last.

Firstly, animal's homosexuality is tricky. Pure homosexuality doesn't almost exist among them, what one calls "animal's homosexuality" is usually bisexuality and they issue, whereas human's homosexual species likely to die with no issue.

Secodnly, homosexuality of course is not the only factor leading to species' extinction. It's just one of many but it's still worth considering.

But gay men do have the same "feelings" as their hetroxsexual counterparts just because their feelings are towards another man this doesn't make them ill or different, it's just how they feel, nothing mentally wrong or physically they are as nature made them and no amount of "help" or "praying" is going to "cure" a gay person because they don't need to be cured, they are not ill in the first place.

Numerous napoleons in asylums all over the world kindly, sincerely experience feelings they're all napoleons simultaneously. Nature heartlessly got rid of them, making sick of them who needs to be cured. It's very sad, I condole with them but I admit they're sick. I don't see significant dinstiction between them and gays. Please don't think I'm trying to isolate gays with every my move. I don't want to as long as they're not dangerous and I'm glad you Shelley have had a good experience with them but I didn't find any proof in your nice post of that homosexuality wasn't a decease.

P.S. Shelley I think it's hard even to expert psychologist to thoroughly determine how strong the impact of gay's fostering on the unformed young psychic is.

A side note, perhaps Marches of Tolerance for gays and lesbians should be accompanied, or followed by Marches of Tolerance for families.

Tak. I second that.

I really am finding it hard to understand how such an educated person like Sasha actually believes that being gay is an illness that could possibly be cured

Thanks for the compliment, Shelley... I don't know why I believe. :) Maybe nobody has ever proved me I'm wrong. Numerous doctors are with me.

Life / Paying bribes in Poland - necessity or a luxury? [41]

Have you guys heard of anybody given a bribe to road police in Poland I wonder?

Yesterday I gave a ride to road policeman... I was stopped by him for that purpose on my way back home from work. Is it a bribe? :)

Seriously I've given a bribe for several times. But it's Russia...
I love when at the end of the year they come up with figures about corruption in Russia. I am like "hey guys... you forgot to ask me if I was provoked to give a bribe"... :))

Love / What is the sexiest part in a polish woman body? [78]

You have good singers like Zhanna Friske.

Yeah we have boob singers like Zhanna... Oops... did I say that? Freudian slip. I meant "good"...
I'm not a strong worshipper of russian pop-music (I would say even vice versa), but early Diskoteka Avarija was quite good.

Are you saying you are watching her boobs and not her mouth when singing?

In a manner beholding her mouth while she sang could be more serious perversion. :))

Frankly speaking she's not of my type. I prefer slim/skinny women.

Are Polish women on average taller than other European women?

Dinaric people (some serbs, crnogorci, croatians) are the tallest.

Food / MIÓD PITNY = MEAD / dwojniak - trojniak [13]

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medovukha

Polonius, perhaps you meant "medovuha". Depending on distillation it can be from 5% to 30-40% of alcohol. I've tried the one that was about 10%... interesting taste and I wouldn't say it was alcoholic if I hadn't been told before. It's not really popular because it's more expensive than beer and only few small companies make it.

If you're interested we also have alcoholic beverage based on chren (horseradish). Called "chrenovuha". I bet Poles have something similar... :)

Travel / Polish roads as recorded by myself earlier today [74]

Wroclaw, I'm just curious... What would be the punishment, if you were caught by the police driving 160km per hour as in the first movie?

Borrka, that's a good example of why I think you're Poles closer to Russians rather than to "Europeans"...

Food / MIÓD PITNY = MEAD / dwojniak - trojniak [13]

woda brzozowa (an extract of birch and acorus leaves on rectified spirit) used in theory against dandruff, but also a substitute, cheap alcohol for heavy drinkers

I know that in Russia they sometimes add to vodka extract of birch juice to make it "softer". :)

Yeah, I think it's more domestic drink that's mostly done by villagers. :) I've never seen it in shops here either.

Travel / Polish roads as recorded by myself earlier today [74]

isn't it ridiculous ?

It is. Officially, in Russia they have to withdraw your driver license and suspend you from driving at least for six month if you drive 60 km/h over the speed limit, but (being frankly with you) people usually give 'em a bribe (about the same to what you wrote ~200$).

Think, it's not right... to the best of my knowledge if you drive over 100 miles per hour in the US, you're likely to be imprisoned.

Can you say ''strc prst skrz krk''?

Oh yeah... there're lots of such things in Czech. :) I actually love this west-slavic vowelless spelling. If you're asking about modern Russian, then only word "prst" (spelling "perst" in Rus) would be understandable. But it's more like poetical Russian... obsolete word you know... In a daily life we usually use "palez" instead of "perst". Z pronounced as in Deutsch.

Or the other ''pivo dela hezke tela''

Hey, druzhe... How do you know? that's my second favourite Czech quote... :)) Pivo dělá hezká těla is a right spelling I think. Seems the topic turns to "chtete mluvit cesky" lessons of Czech. :))

very true ;)

Sure! :) Too bad we don't have something similar in russian...

History / Katyn- forgiven and forgotten? [111]

Nienawidzę Rosjan :(

Dziekuje. :) Vi dobry. Mi vas lubim.

Ale film jest pod koniec krwawy...

It is bloody all the way... not only in the end. I watched it few days ago the very first time. The feelings I experienced were close to what I'd felt when terrorist killed children in Beslan and it had been showed on TV... Words are useless here. There're some events in the history of any nation one would better forget about.

Actually I can't blame Poles for their average attitude towards Russians. That what I felt rightaway after watching.

Genealogy / Need info on my Russianized/Ukrainianized last name. [25]

Wroclav I think you should look for

Pashkovsky

cause in Russia we spell Polish last names with cyrillic "й" on the end which is in transliteration "-iy". Thus I think you should look for the Polish variant you mentioned first.

May I give you a piece of advice?

If you participate in this forum, attempting to arouse sympathy and support for the Serbian cause from the Polish nation, my advice is the following: Forget it.

Wow. :) That's just amazing. May I follow your advise too and suggest that Poles stop moarning about Katyn and some other landmarks of our relationships? Would that be fair and right? Neither fair nor right. So how do you imagine that Serbs leave behind the craddle of their culture while you carry on with your polish victimhood?! Everybody has a right to stand up for one's rights. You [Poles] have, so should Serbs [Russians etc.]

You're right about one thing so... You're the Polish and you're judging everything from your polish standpoint. You logically believe there should be Polish problems resolved firstly. That's ok. But pls let others decide themselves how to behave...

Stop wasting your time trying to persuade Poles to stand up for Racowie because it is all in vain.

Yawn... put instead of Poles Russians and instead of Racowie Katyn... how do you feel now?

News / Why is Tusk still Polish PM? [67]

I am sorry for not replying to your letter earlier but I have been very busy recently.

No problem, I was busy (with sleeping) too. :)

However, this one here is the Polish forum and we are free to discuss all Polish topics, even such painful ones as Katyń. Being a non-Polish Russian guest, you must accept this fact. If you can`t, why are you still here?

Now you get me wrong... and exactly if I couldn't accept the fact, I wouldn't be here. I just can't figure out why crow's efforts "are all ni vain" and yours should effecient. Don't you think I could also say "hey...Poles... don't waste your time... bla-bla.." Would that it be a constructive proposal? I guess that would by simply silly.

The next thing I must tell you is that again you are wrong trying to compare Polish Katyń to Serbian Kosovo. It is a comparison that only a total ignorant could make.

Of course you shouldn't have thought I draw straight between two cases.

whereas Serbs were "only" expelled.

Think now you should fix your position on KosMet. I'm not going to elarobate the issue. ;)

Crow demands a Slavic crusade into Kosovo and tries to lure Poland into it.

Well... everybody is free to have his own opinion. Thus you can easily keep the discussion within this forum. Also I personally don't think there should be bloodshed or something, as for me the only way is a diplomatic way. Here Poland on behalf of its citizens may be helpful. Another story is that you're not going to help them at all... You're again free to ponder more on Polish problems. But when you merely refuse his opinion... what's that? Double standarts?

Thank you for your patient perusal of this letter.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for your politeness, Pan Pawian. :)
