News / Why the American economy is not going to fail - take a lesson from Poland [48]

Pat;
I wish that I could give you the answer. But like you, I don't know the answer. If those Idiots in Washington cant figure it out.. How can we?

I for one blame it on greed and corruption. There is no one person responsible, the blame has to be shared by all the crooks in Washington.

It should be investigated and the guilty should go to jail.
But that will never happen.. They protect each other.

But let some poor guy who is down on his luck, steals a loaf of bread to feed his family, will go to jail.

So much for liberty and justice for all.

And it just seems like the lenders used dishonest practices in the first place to approve people for loans that they were never really going to be able to pay back once interest rates rose. Too many bad things happened all at once.

Shewolf;

Bingo.. You hit the nail right on the head. It is greed running this country. But where were our watch dogs that we voted in to look out for us.. HAH! They were the biggest crooks. I feel sorry for the young people that are trying to get ahead..I am talking about the blue collar worker..I have two granddaughters that are struggling to buy a home..The young people are the ones getting hurt. I hesitate helping them out,so as they can realize how tough life can be..But Grandpop will be there if they get hurt

Joe!
I cant help but agree in most if not all that you have stated.
As of today, it is not a done thing yet. I shudder to think that the same people that were responsible for this fiasco , are the ones that want to fix it. There is enough of blame to go around.

So what are we as Americans to do about it. I feel like a sheep being led to slaughter..Where were the people that were supposed to oversee this. At the very least, they should be voted out of office.. We know who they are.

The money that was pilfered by the guilty persons should be made to return the money, or go to jail.

I thought about it a lot.. I for one will not be hurt..I have all of my money into real estate. As a matter of fact, Today I just bought another foreclosed home..I bought a $300.000.00 home

for $125,000.00.. That makes four homes that I now own.
The tourist season is now coming up in Florida.. I can rent these homes with a 20% profit. So I will not be hurt..There are no mortgages on any of these properties.

News / Why the American economy is not going to fail - take a lesson from Poland [48]

America is going to go through some hard times due to a lot of corruption.. The fault is strictly in the hands of our Government. Our crooked Congress and the Liberals, and crooked CEO's.. The FBI and Justice Dept. is investigating.. Somebody has to go to jail.

America will survive this problem. A lot of people are going to get hurt.. Especially the poor. But they are partially to blame.. They borrowed money that they could not afford to repay.

The middle class will fare much better.. Our savings are Government insured.
It is a mess.. But America will get out of this a lot smarter.

Life / Are Polish traditions dissapearing [93]

Today, 06:59 Report #41

outintheyard:
Are you in Poland? If you are, do you find it difficult sometimes.

I live in Poland and I find it difficult. In fact I'm sometimes forced to take part in some celebrations, but I wouldn't call it cultivating any tradition. I really hate it. And I hate it when Catholic Church tries to influence the public life.

And I'm preparing to apostasy.

Switezianka],, You can put me in your camp. I went to a Catholic Polish speaking school, and was brought up as a Catholic. But as I grew up, I found that we were taught a bunch of lies.Therfore I lost all faith in all religions.

What the hell is apostasy? My American dictionary does not have the word listed.?

Dozynki Polish Harvest festival

Polish Harvest Festivals
In Poland at the end of harvest, which is traditionally on or around August 15th, a crown of straw was placed on the head of a village girl. The mayor of the village then placed a rooster on top of the crown. The girl then led the way from the fields with musicians and villagers. It is said that if the rooster crowed it was considered good luck and the future would be good; if the rooster refused to eat, it was a looked upon as a bad omen and prospects for a good winter were bleak.

An ode to us remaining 1st generation Pollacks

To the health of all the beautiful women, and my wife.
Zdrowie pieknych pan i mojej zony.

To the health of real men …. and yours, you *********!
Zdrowie prawdziwych meszczyzn… i wasze, gówniarze!

No such thing as ugly women, just sober men.
Nie ma brzydkich kobiet, tylko sa trzezwi meszczyzni.

To the health of our wives and lovers - and may they never meet!
Zdrowie zon i kochanek - oby sie nigdy nie spotkaly!

’til we meet next, on the floor.
No, to spotkamy sie na podlodze.

Life / Are Polish traditions dissapearing [93]

With the demise of The Polish Immigrants, all of the Polish traditions have been all but forgoten by the 2nd generation Polish Americans. The real celebrations are gone..Now Easter means Easter bunnies for the kids, and maybe a Ham?Wielkanoc is a thing of the past.

No more Dyngus or Easter monday
Christmas? A time to spoil the kids with toys. No more Wigilia, no more oplatek. No more midnight mass with koledy
Even a good old time Polish Wedding is gone.. No more PANI MLODA
No more Polish language Polkas. No more Maly Wladziu, Marion Lush, Wesoly Ludwig etc

AHHH! Those were the days

Those were the days when girls were girls and men were men.

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

I have a question?

Why are there so many Poles in the UK, and why do so many Brits live in Poland?

This is not a joke.. I would appreciate a intellegent answer.
This is something that I have often wondered about.

UK, Ireland / 2 Polish men killed in Drimnagh, Dublin [29]

This is sooo sad Regardless of what nationality they were, it makes no difference.

What are they going to do with the suspect? Will he be charged as an adult or as a juvenile?

America has big problems too.. But only in the black sections.. The white sections are safe.. Even at night.

Most of the black crime is drug related, they kill each other..

News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

Was it not the Polish that broke a code in WW2.

Good shot Carol.
Was it not the Poles that retrieved a German V1 rocket that went astray.. They dismantled it and sent it to England.

Actually who in their right mind would want to join the British Army? Their chow sucks.

Thats a fantastic idea as long as they can speak perfect english,

Shouldnt this be true for the Brits living and working in Poland, should they too be able to speak fluent Polish??

My DAD who was a Polish Immigrant in America spoke broken English.. But he was allowed to enlist in the American Army in 1917.. He served in France,at Verdun.

If the UK is so demanding, Why not Poland.

History / Polish soldiers get Dutch medals after 60 years [6]

Finally, by someone who knows the true story about operation Market Garden, the truth is finally being told.. Due to the glory seeking MONTGOMERY, there were many brave British soldiers sacrificed at Arnhem. When he ran into German resistance , he stopped and allowed those brave troops to be decimated..His armored columns failed to advance

Okay Franek - what was your rank and number?

OK! Shelly;
Give me a couple of days to get this info into my computer.
I have a digital camera and will take pictures of all of my WW2 records.. I stll have them.. I will send them, to you by a PM. I prefer to keep this between the two of us.. I am not a flag waver. But you doubted my honesty.. Therefore I will present you with official proof from the US War Department.

Celinski!
You can be proud of your Grandfather.. The Polish 2nd Corps fought at Mt Monte Cassino in Italy. It was them that finally took the German position when all oters failed.. They lost over a thousand men but they did it.

They also fought at Operation Market Garden At Arnhem in the Netherlands.. They have an outstanding record

Now tell the truth Franek!

Shelly;
How can I convince you that I am telling you the truth.?
I will look for my telegrams to my Mom from WW2 advising her that I was wounded twice and was reported missing in action.. I still have the original copies from the war department..They are pretty yellow now from age..( So am I )

But they are available if you insist..
Yes sweetie I was there. I was in a little town called Bridport in Dorset,in 1944.. Yep I am a relic. Sorry!

you can talk me through the Polish role :)

AHA!
But I was there in WW2. I fought next to Polish forces in France..They stood shoulder to shoulder with me at, the Northern Shoulder (ELSENBORNE RIDGE ) in the battle of the bulge. If I was to choose a comrade to be at my side, IT WOULD BE A POLE.. For your information I am a American..

I also spent time with Poles as a prisoner of war in Germany.

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

It's when they won't attempt to learn the culture or language, form their own small communities with their own laws and bleed the system dry.. When other cultures live like that I can't see why they wanted to leave their own countries in the first place...It don't make sence.

The same thing happened in Zimbabwe.. They killed the white farmers and now find that they do not know how to exist without them.

Haiti. They revolted against the French when Haiti was a rich country. Today, they are one of the poorest countries on earth,
they don't have brains enough to govern themselves

News / What Poland has with USA global schemes? [32]

Well...back to the beginning!
The US isn't at hand from the start...actually it's a crap deal. Neither can Poland somehow "save" the US (nor is it expected from her) nor will the US be the only NATO member in the near should an attack at Poland happen.
And the US public will ask why should we, let the europeans handle that...

As a loyal patriotic American, I can only agree with the above view..Every point made in there makes sense..

By time America reacted it would be all over for Poland

Life / What Flower is Representative of Poland [14]

CZERWONE MAKI RED POPPIES

During WW2, in Italy there was a Monastery called Monte Cassino. After numerous attempts with a enormous cost of life, The Allies failed to take that position.. In the end, it was the Poles under General Anders that finally succeded in taking that position at the cost of over 1000 Polish troops..

The mountain was covered with red poppies. They said that is was Polish blood. General Anders survived the war and asked to be intwerned wirthg his troops.

Feedback / Private message not working with a "highlighted text" [17]

PG;
I figured out why I could not private message.
I was trying to send Shelly something from some weird mail that I received on this forum. I put it in my spam folder, and that will not allow me to send a highlighted message from that mail.

I am having no problem with my regular messages..
